Marvelous position in Melbourne. Loved the mezzanine floor where there was privacy & comfort to wait for or meet people. All staff were extremely helpful polite & friendly.

The air conditioning was a bit noisy, but not uncomfortably so.

The friendly service provided by the manager when he helped us store our extra large luggage after we checked out.

I have stayed before many years ago. I love these old hotels and it has still got character. I hope this is not ruined when it is refurbished. I really liked my Heritage room and found it most comfortable.

It was difficult to get between my room and reception because I was on the 4th floor and I had to get two lifts.

This is a great hotel. We went for the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and we were right in the middle of all the action. A great location, within easy walking distance to everything. Great price. We had a large clean room.

The TV was in a weird place. You can't see it from the bed.

Staff attitude after booking and lack of cloakroom for storing one case after checkout. $7 for locker is a bit unkind.

Room was very large.

In such a big room it only had 2 chairs, a desk and a bed. A couch would be a nice addition.

It has a very convenient location for the city and very comfortable and pleasant surroundings

The lighting in the bathroom is appalling. There is no light in the shower, you cannot see what you are doing. The lights start off dimly and then gradually brighten up - not very practical for a bathroom - to my makeup in the bathroom mirror.

I have no complaints about this hotel

We liked the retro feel to the hotel, good bathroom, obliging and helpful staff and great location.

We think the hotel is being upgraded so the corridors were boarded up, lifts looked a bit neglected and we're sorry the old porters lodge has disappeared.

The windows desperately need blockout curtains that actually cover the entire window. We had trouble sleeping - it was so bright.

The location was very good, right in the centre of Melbourne's CBD

The rooms were tiny and dark, with uncomfortable beds. Staff at the Reception Desk were not very proffesional.
