The staff at the front desk was really friendly and professional. We received a free room upgrade because they didn't receive our booking through the website, but they were very accommodating. I was very impressed. There was no parking facilities so we had to park in a car park and it cost us a significant amount of money to park for 3 days.

The room facilities, well proportioned. Nicely decorated, room relatively quiet. Large window was nice for letting in light and sunshine. Bed very comfortable, room was cold but air con noisy so did not use. Made a banging noise as it turned on and off to heat the room. Location and drive from airport was very quick, also to the gardens in Kings Park and walk to Stirling Gardens. Limited parking space and difficult to find access to basement. Did not enjoy getting up before 7.30 to move car from clearway, finding atrium parking was easy and cheap however and I was directed here by morning staff. Signage on front of hotel difficult to see especially at night. I arrived late as plane had need to return to sydney, arrival 11pm, was fortunate that there was limited traffic in city as I drove up and down St Georges Terrace 3 times before I located hotel. Fresh milk in fridge for coffee & tea would be nice as well as biscuits, especially when arriving in late, a small snack would have been nice. At a charge of $335 for room, which is considerably more than I would normall pay, a few extra add ons would have been nice even a bed and breakfast deal. Unfortunately this Somerset was all I could find for my stay in Perth, accomodation available during my stay was either too expensive or just not available.

Location The rooms depicted online don't match the actual rooms. We paid for an upgrade to get the room reflected in the advertising and it still wasn't the same room. Does the advertising depict a different hotel altogether. TVs are very old and out of date. Facilities were not clear when booking. Rooms near the lift are very noisy. Lighting is super dim and makes the rooms appear dingier than they are. Fine for budget business travel but not worth $200 a night for a city getaway in the room we stayed in.

Shower ran hot and cold - could not control the temperature. Television should have been replaced years ago - haven't seen one like that in a hotel for years. Breakfast system was unusual and the cooked meal was not good quality - looked like packet ham. Went out for breakfast next day.

The staff were very helpful. The room we booked wasnt really reflective of the website details, however, the staff were able to provide a more appropriate room, in keeping with our expectations, fir an additional cost (which was a shame). The sheets were not changed on the bed at any time during a six day booking.

Great location, clisé to both shopping and conference centre, huge quiet room. The room lacks natural light, and the lighting in the room is very dim, and with overheadlighting inthe bathroom, it makes it very difficult to see to put on makeup!

I liked the bath as this was deep and quickly filled. The location to the city was very good the hotel is very central. The rooms were very basic and not as you would expect from looking at the web pictures. They moved us to an executive room when I was not satisfied with the standard of the room we were given, compared to what you come to expect and this was a nicer room and better fit to picture on website but I still think not as nice as shown. Also when we came to check out I had to read over recipt carefully as they had added charges for things we had not had.

Convenient location for cbd The first room did not have the advertised kitchen facilies - I believed I was booking a serviced apartment, but there were no cooking facilities, or even crockery or cutlery. The second room I was shown had virtually no natural daylight and the window looked out onto a ventilation shaft so the room was virtually completely dark and lights had to be on all day. The third room was a lot better but it was at the back of the hotel, where every night there were service trucks emptying bins or something at odd times which woke me up at some point every night at 1am, 2am, 3am etc. At least they tried to move me into a better room when I wasn't happy with the first two rooms, but for the amount of money charged it was definitely not good value, or 4 * standard in my opinion. The description says: 'Elegantly appointed with a stylish and contemporary décor', however for the most part this is not the case - some of the furniture is dated and rooms are in need of a refurb. Also, I searched on hotels with gym facilities and this hotel does not have gym facilities on site, but a 5 min walk away. A $65 credit card surcharge was made which was a unhappy surprise at the end of a disappointing stay. I have never been charged this by another hotel.
