The manor is very clean n staff v friendly. It's ideal for an older clientele. The younger ones might not enjoy it as much. Due to the manor bring fairly old, a lot of Noice travels. A bit cold due to the ducted heating bot working I guess and the portable heating badly located. Very close to Toorak and train station.
The staff were very helpful and attentive, whilst the location and size of the room were great
Character of building large Room Friendly Staff Homely Feel Location
Perhaps could do with some building maintenance but to be expected with a historical building
Staff very obliging
The location was perfect for us .
Next to train line Dirty Curtains Room itself was very cold Had to run water for ages to get hot Uneven and squeaky floors Overall a very tired building requiring a major overhaul
Convenient location and clean facilities.
Shabby and needing an update. The garden needs a cleanup and update. Shame such a beautiful old house isn't maintained. The carpets dirty and worn in places. Had to move to another chair at breakfast as chair bottom fallen through. The photos on the web site obviously photoshopped.
Lack of heating, poor. I have to rug up. Floors could be cleaner
Old world elegance and comfortable rooms with modern facilities. The Queen room had a walk in wardrobe and good size bathroom. The train station across the road is convenient and only 3 stops to the city. Lovely ambiance. I will stay here again.
Close to restaurants, shop and public transport. Free parking
Close to railway, so some rooms are noisy. Poor TV and Wi-Fi connection.
Location very good, close to rail and tram service.
We have been to this place some 6 or 7 years ago and the difference is quite noticeable, eg curtains in room qite dirty(need a good wash) whole place looks a bit tired ( cracks in plaster in main foyer) garden a bit tired also.
Exactly what we expected as we have stayed there before. Very convenient location to train and restaurants
Although on a main road and frequent rail service, it was remarkably quiet. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Short walk to Toorak Rd or Chapel St and very quick trip to town. Lovely shope and restaurants, wish we'd had more time to explore the local area.
Agonisingly slow Wi-fi
king bed, clean
old, outdated furniture and decor
Train station right across the road, 3 stops to the CBD or 2 stops to the MCG. Off street parking
Wifi was incredibly slow Uncomfortable bed Continental breakfast should be included in the price.
Needs some maintenance and a tidy up. Bathroom door didn't even close properly.
Dimly lit bathroom and bedroom
Good access to everywhere. Park on site. Arrive when you want with access to room easily arranged.
Need fox sports!!
This is a quiet, dignified and elderly building. Facilities are a bit old but clean. Pity it is not closer to public transport.
Beautiful furnishings, very comfortable, great atmosphere
Hot water took 15 mins to come through Breakfast started too late as had to be at conference could it start at 7am instead?
Room was tired and had a bad mustard/damp smell
The location was perfect, the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Enjoyed my stay and will definately be coming back.
Good size rooms.
No atmosphere for a B&B. Breakfast badly organised.
Lovely Rooms, close to cafes and restaurants
Close location to our needs. Staff very friendly and ready to help at all times.
A little cold in the bedroom but very comfortable in the rest of the manor.
Like staying at a rich aunt's house. Chandeliers, oil paintings, generous rooms and a lovely drawing room full of over-stuff sofas. Walk to Chapel Street or the train into Melbourne. And all this for $100 in June - with cereal, toast, tea, coffee and newspapers included. Thank goodness places like this still exist!
