Rather good location. Not far from China Town, Queen Victoria Building, Myer department store, Sydney Opera, Royal Botanic Gardens and Darling Harbour. If you don't mind walking, these places are in between15 to 25 mins walking distance. About 3-4 mins walking distance on Goulburn Street, there is a shopping mall where you can find Coles supermarket and some restaurants. A food stand in the basement sales 3 sushi rolls for 5 AUD$ with great taste. Anyone who loves to see a great variety of birds (and flying foxes) and plants in nature, they must go to the Royal Botanic Gardens which is free entry. And, it's also a great idea to take the ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour to see the fantastic night view of Sydney. It costs only 5.30 AUD$/single ticket. Apart from few friendly and helpful hotel staffs, some of the female staffs on the reception desk were rather unfriendly and impatient. The room facilities are generally Ok, but the room, especially the bathroom, needs to be refurbished soon. However, the cleaning needs to be improved immediately. Our room on the third floor where we stayed for several nights was extremely dirty. You can see easily in a lots of places/things that are covered by a thick layer of dust, or hair /dust acummulated on the floor or in the corner without been removed or cleaned. Sort of disgusting. However, our friends who stayed in a room at a much upper floor didn't have the same problem. If you want to have a great city view from you room, ask the hotel to give you a room between 16th to 18th floor.

There is a microwave in the room. The location is very convenient. The shopping mall nearby is within a 5-minute walk. The bed is a bit small.

The Travelodge is close to the city and easy to find. The price of the accommodation suited me as I was only really there to sleep, being out all day every day. The room had everything I needed. The staff offered to move me to a room with a double bed when one become available [an offer I didn't take up as I didn't want to repack all my stuff!] My room only had single beds, however when I booked I was aware this could be a possibility.

I liked the fact that someone was available to assist 24 hours a day. I also appreciated being able to check in very late in the evening and early in the morning. After checking out we were able to leave our bags at the hotel until we were ready to head out to the airport. This was extremely convenient. I didn't like the fact that having paid for my accommodation in full prior to our stay, a second amount still remains pending on my credit card. I had to call Sydney to find out it was an authorisation and will remain pending between 5 - 10 days.

Found that our double bed in room 1004 was a standard double only and my feet stuck out over the end. I am quite tall, and endured three very uncomfortable nights sleep; room was Ok otherwise.

My friends and I stayed for only one night and I am glad it was only for that short period. On our first and only night, we soon discover we have only cold water for shower. When we rang reception, she told us to run the water for 10-15 minutes, but we still have no hot water. She said there's nothing she could do now but will leave a note for hotel manager to look into it the next day and someone will be in contact first thing in the morning. Next day, we waited and waited. No one got back to us. And when we went to check out, the girl at the counter seemed clueless when we asked why no one followed up in the morning about the hot water as previously promised. The whole time we didnt' speak to the manager, no compensation, no one offered us an alternative room and no sincere apology from anyone at the hotel. Very very disappointing

The hotel are very strict with regard to the 2pm check in time, which is crazy considering they kick you out at 10am Young guy on reception is rude and unhelpful This used to be a great budget hotel. However, the rates have increased extensively over the last 12 months. When it was a budget rate you did not mind paying crazy $ 29 Internet access for 24 hours. Now the rate is high, when you add the rate plus the rip off extras, you would be as well paying a few extra $ and staying in the Hyatt or similar. This hotel is no longer a budget hotel, the rate is high but still a very very basic hotel, which the rates do not reflect.. In summary, for the money with breakfast, Internet etc you can find hotels close by which are far better value for money. Staff on reception are very busy, but remain friendly, with the exception to the Young Asian guy who has a major attitude issue, him alone would prevent me returning.

Convenient to a City circle Metro Station & can walk to various City Iconic sites. Room not over large but comfortable and having Microwave & small kitchen facilities is good. No hotel complaint, but the surrounding street area is a little on the "back Street" scene, if you are walking at night perhaps, although there is only a short walk to a Metro station.

Firstly it was a very hot day and the air con wasn't working. We couldn't even adjust it. We each had 3 cool showers as it was very uncomfortable. We didn't complain as it was only 1 night. Secondly, the carpet had not been vacuumed. There were streamers under the beds and fluff etc. on the carpets. The bathroom floor was partly clean but a very haphazard job. Not impressed with the floor. Finally on the morning of checking out I noticed the sign on the front desk saying $14.50 for breakfast so I said oh yes we'll all (3) have breakfast thanks. The girl said no it was only $14.50 when you checked in but would cost us $19.50 each as we hadn't booked in advance. So, your restaurant lost money as we ate elsewhere. Overall disappointing. Lastly - I forgot to mention - we arrived early in the morning and checked in our bags for the day. I developed a migraine so left my husband and son and came back early to lie down. They wouldn't let me have a room as I didn't have a credit card - my husband had it in his wallet. So I had to sit and wait for him & my son to return. Thank goodness for Nurofen!!

Nothing really special..looks more like a backpackers hotel rather than 3,5 stars they claim to be..not enough shampoos or towel in the room. When taking shower the entire bathroom would get wet. In three days stay no change of towels or bed sheets. No wifi in the room. We live in 21st century!!!!! Internet facilities poor, limited, we had to wait for the 3 available computers that were very slow and very old. It should be rated as back packers..
