Location and helpful staff
Firmly and very helpful staff. I came in early and add soon as my room was ready i was asked to go up. Much appreciated. Thank you
We arrived at 2:00pm to be told our room 'should' be ready. We were given a room in which we entered and it was filthy and had not been cleaned. We then got given another room. Loud music was blasted all night long from downstairs which we were not warned about. In the morning we awoke to a cockroach running across the bed. We did not have a pleasant stay & the staff seems disinterested. Our room cost $299 which was an absolute rip off.
Comfortable spotless room, and convenient location for exploring Melbourne. The tram stop is just outside the hotel. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Easy access to the beach and Albert Park. Secure parking available ($18/day). Friendly helpful staff on the desk.
In the middle of a refurb. Some of the hotel and its street front look scruffy and uninviting. But our bedroom/bathroom were modern and stylish.
The room was dysfunctional in that I had to leave the light on at night otherwise when switching off the lights, it would also cut the power to my charger. The front desk staff weren't all that friendly or helpful. The next morning, I hoped to get a coffee and a good hearty breakfast, however, after sitting in the Hub Cafe Function Room and the staff walking by me multiple times, I was unable to get table water or a menu. Needless to say, I left and went to the cafe across the road who served me quickly. All in all, not what I expected from the Rydges chain.
Location / proximity to restaurants and the beach. Large room and nice bathroom comfortable bed and professional / helpful staff.
I have a problem paying for wifi.
Loved how tucked away it was. Found a little hard to locate, but were very surprised with the whole experience.
Misleading information was given. It says 15 or under can stay free of charge, but only if they share the existing bedding. There was only one bed in the room, imagine a 15 years old boy shares the bed with his parents LOL. Because there was no any other furniture such as sofa that can be slept on, we ask for an extra bed, an extra $40 per night was added into my bill. They charge the guests for pretty much everything even drinking water.
We were greeted by friendly and professional staff who were very eager to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. The room was very well-equipped and quite spacious, even with a trundle bed.
Be sure to check with the hotel beforehand regarding a trundle bed, as they didn't have one listed in our booking and we were told that they have a limited number available.
Great space, very comfy beds, lovely staff!
Once the pick of the town, this property is a little tired. However it is having a huge makeover with new branding and will shortly be the pick again. The staff are excellent.
Car park is a little difficult.
The hotel had a certain buzz
The lifts have no mirrors
Small but adequate accommodation close to the city and to the theatre. Didnt use any of the facilities but on site parking was a bonus. Modern rooms, very clean and quiet
The shower was good and powerful. The bed, extremely comfortable and staff friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed our room, especially the window that could let in the fresh air and we could see some fireworks from at midnight. We enjoyed a warm welcome from the manager too.
I would have preferred a a brush and dustbin for our room so we could keep our privacy, but clean up the crisps the kids left on the carpet.
This is a great hotel, with a charm of a hostel, yet with a comfort and services of a superb hotel. Our room was big and cosy, bed of absolutely excellent quality, so we enjoyed our stay a lot. Cafe Hub, which is part of the hotel serves wonderful food and drinks and staff are very friendly and helpful. The beach is a few minutes walk and conveniet trams both to the center and to St. Kilds are one minute away. Area is full of buzzing restaurants and cool cafes.
We were down from Bendigo to see Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) in concert. We loved everything about the Urban.. the staff were helpful & friendly, the room was great, couldn't fault it..and we will definitely stay again.
