Great service great staff

The young woman on evening reception desk was unfailingly helpful and pleasant, and really went out of her way to solve problems for me. Other reception staff were also good. I enjoyed the pool and spa and exercycle to keep me fit. The cleaners did a great job too every day. The room was spacious, well laid out, comfortable, and well lit.

People chatting loudly outside under the balcony rooms and going in and out of the carpark at 11pm,- signs are needed asking for silence in those areas after 10pm. Not impressed by the tinned fruit salad I was initially sent in the place of sliced tropical fruit listed on the menu, and the fact that the room service man argued that this is what they usually serve with kids meals.

Location in Carlton was good, easy to get to city on number 19 tram. Walk to Sydney Road with some funky pubs and bars/restaurants. Nice park across the road. Room size was big. Huge bed

Staff were extremely unhelpful on check in when credit card wouldn't work. We were treated like it was our problem even though our card worked fine throughout Melbourne for the rest of the weekend. Were not presented with alternative options and were assured it had never happened before, even though later they admitted it happened to 6 different people over the weekend. We were offered a room with a balcony (which overlooked a car park). Only 30 minutes free Wifi, then an extortionate amount of $20 something dollars a day for Wifi. This is beyond reasonable for a hotel in a major tourist city in 2013. Further training of staff in required in this hotel.

This a hotel that that provides 'value for money' to overseas visitors and budget conscious, the former who suffer the extraordinary over valuation of the Australian dollar. For non Australians, it is not cheap, indeed it is what you would pay the equivalent to stay in a 3+/4 star hotel in a secondary European city, say Marseilles, Manchester or Mannheim. However, this is no four star hotel, perhaps not even a three.. Star and probably doesn't pretend to be. It is a Premier Inn or Ibis style hotel in Europe except without the service levels. It was nice to have a pool, except is was not clean. The tv didn't work and the décor was very dated, though the lobby tried to convey a modicum of style. I also found dead flies in the room and in rhe pool. In my opinion, money would be better spent on renovating the rooms, cleaning the pool and employing more staff.

The pool, BBQ facilities, gym , location to the city & trams. The tree lined streets & walking paths. Very relaxing location while not bring far from the city centre.

Maybe more info on the new transport ticketing system. There might have been something there that i missed but t aside from that had a great time.

Restaurant a bit expensive

We were offered another room the next night and given free breakfast.

We chose separate beds which wasn't available on check-in. The receptionist didn't know which rooms had separate beds and had to go and check. As there were none available we had to share a bed which was inconvenient.

I stayed at the Vibe twice. The rooms not on main street are quiet and big enough. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Rooms on mainstreet very noisy. Room during first stay was not very clean. Staff at the restaurant is friendly but has nothing to do with 4 star standard. They serve food without a plate, even lemon slices! In Europe not even in a 2 star Hotel you will find this .

Unfortunately a member of staff (reception desk) was extremely lazy during our checking in and was not bothered to investiagte the proper bookings during our check in. We had two rooms booked without breakfast but ended up paying for a room at a higher rate and with breakfast just because "in his records he was seeing a reservation with breakfast" and disregarding the booking voucher I had on me. The hotel is nice but I hope for anyone sake you get to meet a friendlier guy at the front desk.

1. We had a room on the east side and it was very noisy with no double glazing windows. 2. We had a room on the east side and without blinds and curtains that didn't meet it made th room very light in the morning, nor did it help with sound insulation. 3. I expect top pay for parking in the city but not in the suburbs where there is ample parking on the street. 4. The door access cards sometimes took 30 swipes to work on both the room door and front and side doors. This happened all weekend despite having the cards cleared and set again. 5. My elderly parents stayed in another room. they had a great deal of difficulty getting into and out of the bath/shower. The step to gain access is too high, even for an able bodied person.

Felt very comfortable and nice amenities.

Not the hotel's fault, but kept awake most of the night by a large group of people in adjoining rooms partying and slamming doors.

Handy to beautiful park across the road, ease of transport to city, close to university and hospitals, easy to find, nice atmosphere.

Arthur at the bar was under the influence of alcohol and virtually incoherent. We were in room 304 and could hear the lift all night and first thing in the morning. It sounded as though someone was walking on the balcony in high heels. The reception staff when booking in said just park around the back and did not indicate where our room was located. We had to find it ourselves nor did they tell us of the facilities of the hotel or anything about breakfast. Overall very disappointed and would not stay again. Whole place needs to be revamped - very shoddy inside and out.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

Noise through walls and ceiling of room meant sleep virtually impossible. Poor quality pillows were uncomfortable, linen clean but doona covers did not seem as fresh. Restaurant not good quality food for dinner or good value prices.

My bed was too soft and gave me backache, and there was a bit of a persistant smell in my room. Room was on the chilly side. Location isn't ideal if you don't have a car although there is a tram stop not far away. Internet access is really overpriced (but I think this is typical of Australia). I don't understand why they can't offer free wifi.

Location was convenient adjacent to tram line. Room was clean, plenty of room and adequately appointed.

Very easy & relaxed atmosphere, close to city but far enough away from hustle &bustle.

1. Parking situ - pay $10 p/d to park, Co needs to make better arrangement. 2. Lift is very clunky - either needs extensive o/haul or replace.

The heater in my room (and many other rooms from other people at the conference) didn't work. The breakfast was awful.

The location was perfect for an easy trip to the city, a nice walk to Lygon St. Public transport was easily accessible. Transport to and from the airport was quick and easy using the Starbus. The room was modern and clean and the staff were helpful. It was a great no fuss stay in Melbourne for four days.

The food was expensive and therefore we didn't use the restaurant. We had problems with the TV, that had a constant buzz when on, that was unable to to be fixed during our stay.
