Local life pleasant and laid back, quiet during the week, busy on weekends as tourists flock into the area.. local pubs and restaurants cater to all tastes and budgets. The location offers many activities for families and all ages.. beaches, fishing, hiking. Several coastal townships nearby - literally 5 minutes away to drive, with so much history to explore. Regular local markets and activities, fun runs, art displays in the park, walks across to Granite Island, and much more... all free - with a few boat rides and train rides and even camel rides at reasonable prices.
If you like the quiet atmosphere, skip school holidays.. but if you are OK with the friendly busy vibe.. plenty to enjoy for all.. sideshow rides and park stalls go up in busier times - ofcourse, the horse tram to the Island is a staple for all to enjoy.

Victor Harbour is a beautiful seaside location on the Fleurieu Peninsula offering plenty of walks, beach strolls and parks for picnics or relaxing. The historical tramway is a fun way to access Granite Island - where further scenic walks are available - or access by the causeway is also a good option. The Cockle Train rides between Victor Harbour and Goolwa are nostalgic and fun and allow you to hop on and hop off to enjoy Port Elliott and Middleton along the way.
There are plenty of accommodation options, shops to browse, coffee shops and eateries for a variety of food. The town also has medical services, major supermarkets, hardware stores and other service providers. Other interesting places to see on the Peninsula are accessible by car. A great place to holiday!

Victor Harbour is a great holiday destination. It has beautiful beaches and if warmer we would have swum. Plenty of nice eateries and good shopping so could cook at home easily.

My stay at Back Valley Farm House was below par.
My stay at Back Valley Farm House was below par. No cooked breakfast, which was advertised as an everyday thing. Not much heating. I definitely had no control over the heating. I was accused of damaging a screen door and I did not. The place is in very poor repair. The screens have not been serviced or looked at for a long time. They were full of spider webs. The customer service did not exist and the owners of the place were not friendly or welcoming at all

I love Victor Harbor.
I love Victor Harbor. It’s a beautiful seaside country town with lots of tourist things to see and do - Granite Island, the beaches, markets and other events. This time we came for the SA Viking Festival which is a large and popular event every year! There is also the Urrimbirra Wildlife park just as you come into Victor Harbor. We ate at Mum’s Beard cafe which was amazing and I highly recommend it!

We did the Victor Harbor Heritage Walk which led us to some beautiful and interesting buildings. We accidentally discovered an art gallery on Fisher Street run as a co-op for local artists, with some fabulous works. On Saturday morning we went to the Farmer's Market and found some delicious cheeses, crusty sourdough bread, beautiful dried pears and, my favourite, Pastelli.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Everything we needed in the room, including a little sink for washing our dishes - very useful as we like to create our own meals as we travel. Excellent hot water for showers, comfy bed. Good location, very close to the beach and other Victor Harbor attractions. We ended up extending our stay as we were very happy with the value for money here.
Heritage hotel that has not been updated. We had a Seaview Room with Spa - located upstairs and no lift available. Room was acceptable given the age of the hotel. Strange slatted folding door between the bedroom and bathroom. View from the balcony was excellent - across the water. Free on-site parking was good. Staff at reception were good.
The host was really caring and responsive. The place is small but extremely well set up. Like a complete tiny house, really great. The bbq works perfectly for meals and the bathroom is big enough and comfortable. Great big TV and great aircon. 30 seconds walk from the water. Value for money too.
Beautiful guest house. Clean and really comfortable beds. It was so well set up, decor, kitchen, lounge all wonderful. The bathroom was like a six star hotel. It was the best accommodation of our whole trip. We were so surprised at how wonderful this place was. ❤️
I have stayed a few times now and I'm normally very happy. It's value for money and walking distance to fish, which is why we like to stay a night or two in Victor Harbor. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.
The room was in a quiet location. It was exceptionally clean and tidy. Fresh, crisp linen and plenty of wardrobe space. The shared bathroom was clean and worked very well.
