Staff and the food. Their chef is only 24 however he cooks like nothing I have ever tasted before. The staff were wonderful and I just can't peak highly enough of the experience. Should be 5 stars
There really wasn't anything I didn't like
The lead light windows. Breakfast. As they had a theme night in their restaurant, which did not appeal to us, we had dinner at the Queenscliff Inn across the road, which was excellent!
The noise in the hallway and reception area when trying to sleep. The fact that there was a sitting area right outside our window where patrons could drink and be merry (not late at night apparently) The overpowering air freshener smell in our room. The darkness of the room. The single desk chair in our room, we had to sit on the bed.
Position and charming building
Only 12/15 people in restaurant and turned us away as it was "full" Had lovely meal else where and will probably stay there next time.
A lovely heritage hotel
Queenscliff is not far from Melbourne, surrounded by wineries, great views and walk tracks. Vu Grand did not disappoint. Friendly staff, good information about eating options in town, and good value with large bed, balcony, breakfast & wifi.
People smoking on next balcony.
Old and dirty
Dining room not open for dinner
Location in middle of town. Room # 5, ground floor, had spa in big bathroom (shower over spa). LOTS of toiletries inc toothbrushes, etc. Big king bed very comfy, good size flat screen tv. Large room.
NOISY on the Fri night we stayed due to it being a Fawlty Towers Function night. Bar garden is right outside room #5. Noise stopped about 11pm'sh from memory though so not too bad overall.
Nice historic hotel with very friendly staff. Really excellent 360 degree views from roof-top bar. Excellent dinner and breakfast in the nice hermitage room.
The excellent meal and attention by the waiting staff on thursday evening, in the main dining room was all that we had hoped for. Must compliment Aron on his care and attention to detail. Breakfast on Saturday morning was just the opposite to yesterdays offering, the young lady looking after the food was well organised and everything was as it should be, congrats
The breakfast on Friday morning was poorly prepared. It did seem to us that nothing was ready for guests The cooked food was cold and the water for tea & coffee was not hot.
Staff very friendly balcony at dusk with comfy couches was favorite Everything was lovely
The ambiance of the motel it took you back to that time in the past. Building looked great for the time period. Great sitting room just before the Dining Room with the stained glass windows
Food was very pricey in both the eatery's would have loved to eaten there but too expensive so went down and had Hamburger and chips and sat in the park.
Breakfast provided in charming dining room. Quiet location. Close to everything in Queescliff. Dated but comfortable. Old world charm.
Stairs. A little too dark in the room for old eyes.
I like the old charm of the hotel. The dinning room was very beautiful and the breakfast was nice.
When we arrived there were a lot of people in the foyer, which made it hard on us to get through. During the night 1ish there were on lot of people noise from a group that were coming back from wherever, they had no considerations for the people that were already in bed.
location to other places to visit in the area, comfortable and affordable, friendly staff and a great buffet breakfast.
Liked it all
Generally run down and a bit grotty
Very spacious room. Although a little dated everything was clean and comfortable and plenty of room to move. Upgraded to spa room and a bottle of bubbly on arrival - what more could one ask for. Staff fantastic.
My stay was not long enough. Only stayed for one night.
high ceilings stately reception and corridors simple good breakfast polite and helpful staff
bathroom old and worn
Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and was exceptional. The staff were all lovely. Would stay there again.
The historical building
Bed was a lump & very uneven Only 3 tea bags & 3 sugars Shortage of power points Nowhere to eat or drink - closed No staff after 5:00pm Shower stall tiny - couldn't even bend over Had to carry luggage 50 meters through 3 doorways - no assistance
like that the staff were very nice and the lady on reception help us with all our need, will be stay again next year.
I didn't like that there was no room service, and that the bar closed at 8pm on a Saturday night,
We were given a voucher for the Faulty Towers dinner which is what brought us to Queenscliff in the first place so we decided to stay at Vue Grand. We had a fabulous night and breakfast was also amazing
Liked that the room was a generous size and there was a spa bath
The restaurant wasn't open while we were there and the directions where to go for our breakfast weren't very clear so we didn't end up getting our breakfast which was included in the room rate
The staff were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast and the dining room made us feel very special. thank you.
The old fashioned ambience bringing back memories of early days .
