The noise above us was as if there was a herd of elephants walking around. Kept us awake. Got ripped off by the taxi that took us to the airport. Was booked for us by the hotel and we were told that the fair would be about $25 - $28. Cost us $50.80? |

We prefer smaller boutique style hotels and the Vulcan is exactly that. A comfortable hotel and the bed very much so. Staff were always helpful. Stylishly decorated with a nice inner courtyard, though this was used by smokers. Please do not let the hotel decor become tatty, the downside of using dark colours means that knocks and scrapes are very visible. We were not happy with the location. Wattle Street is a busy through-road with businesses all around but little else. No nice bars in the area. 10 minutes to Darling Harbour was stretching the imagination, more like 20 and Chinatown about 10mins walk. |

staff were keen to help and hotel was clean. the blind needs to be a better fit to stop light coming through the side and onto the bed head area from a hard night out perhaps. All good though. |

The quietness of a small hotel was great plus the added attention of the friendly staff made for an extremely pleasent first stay in a "boutique" hotel and one which I will always do from now on rather than the huge multi-story complexes. The fact that the owner was on site and very happy to chat was also a hugh plus in my opinion. I can't find any fault with this hotel. |

The location was excellent - 5 minutes walk to Chinatown, shops, restaurants, pubs etc We were 'upgraded' to a Superior Queen room" which ended up being a type of Attic room - bulk head in way of getting in and out of one side of bed - small, old t.v.with no fox. Tea facilities were not replenished - only had one very small cake of soap for shower and toilet. |

It was close to the city and had an "intimate" feel unlike the big Darling Harbour sprawls. |

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a short walk from central station, airport and other tourist attractions. The room had a homely feel to it and was spacious. |

The rooms were comfortable and despite being close to a busy street the soundproofing worked very well. The internet connection was very affordable, but also very slow. I was barely able to use my e-mail. |

Rooms very tasteful and nicely done out. Reasonable rates and helpful staff. A bit of a walk into town - but not the end of the world and reflected in the rates. |

It was promoted as "near Sydney airport". It was not really close to the airport at all. |

Reasonably quiet location with easy access to buses gong to the Harbour area. Attitude of Staff after being placed in wrong room. Noisy fridge. Unreasonably small room on first night.Only windows on second night were towards a covered courtyard |

I liked the location. Easy access to the harbour as well as the down town area. Comfortable accomodations for a reasonable price. With the window open it was noisy/\. |

Hotel looks nice inside and outside. Room was clean and modern. There was a hair dryer and fridge in the room. Room was very small. There was no place for beauty box in the bathroom. Bed was too soft. Hotel is located a bit outside of the city center. |
