Fantastic bed & a perfect nights sleep.
Shared bathroom facilities a long way from room. Very messy late & in morning. Most importantly the advertising didnt inform extra expenses re renting towels, keycard and cost for storing luggage. Staff mostly good but some were impatient when I brought up issues.
A much nicer alternative to most of the seedier backpacker venues in Sydney. Young, relaxed vibe with helpful staff, plenty of food and transport nearby and great parties that don't get in the way if you're after a quiet one. Will definitely stay here again.
Wake-up Hostel is a nice budget place to stay in Sidney. Helpful staff and great location - just a twenty minutes' walk from Sidney Opera House. Pricey for Sidney. Would stay there again.
they try to make so much money out of you even if it seems like they helping you!!!!
Everything!! Our room was so good, the beds are comfy, bathrooms and kitchens are clean, my favourite hostel by far! Activities are awesome too
The price went up each week which wasn't ideal, if the price was lowered or even stayed the same throughout it would be absolutely perfect!
reception is very friendly clean rooms
girlsbathroom have been very messy overcrowded kitchen - just one kitchen for the whole hostel (and its huge)
I was unable to change my booking to a shared dorm even after my partner couldnt make it to our shared single rm. I found this very rigid and inflexible and frustrating. There was no compromise on your part.
Easy to find; the staff is helpful; clean.
The location is a little be away from the main attraction (Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, The Rock and etc.). The room is adjacent to the stree so the traffic may wake you up in the early morning. No power plug around your bed.
i like that the place is clean, the beds aren't squeaky unlike other hostels I have been to. And the bathrooms are big and clean as well. The location is just a stones throw away from Central station which is accessible to all stations city/suburb wide.
I did not like that the staff are closing one eye on some youths who are partying inside the rooms when they have posted a reminder to each room to be considerate to other guests who are sleeping. I know they know, they just don't care.
- Laundry on every Floor - lockers in the Room
- 2 of 4 Showers on our Floor had Hardly any Water Pressure - Room Key Cards stopped working Severin Times during My 4 Day stay - 4 Cups in the Kitchen only, so You musst have eben very Lucky to get One in the Morning
Travelling alone you worry that you might not meet anyone, this is not the case at wake up! They provide different activities each day (most of which are free) for chances to meet other people just like you. I made some very good friends there and I was sad to leave. Definitely the best place to be in Sydney
Maybe free cereal/ tea or coffee for breakfast to be included in the price
I was in a 4 bed female dorm on the 6th floor which was comfortable and very quiet. The location was awesome, it's so close to the train station and was a good base to walk around the city.
Checking out - I didn't take my pillow case to receptionist (i've never had to do this but seemingly it's common in Aus?), the lady checked me out so I couldn't get back up in the lift and ended up going all the way up, to come all the way back down, to get access and go all the way back up again. Other than that there was nothing!
Great location. Friendly staff. Ensuite room was decently-sized. Shower had very good pressure.
Very noisy (need earplugs). TV in a very bad spot. Nowhere to sit in room other than the bunk bed and some very uncomfortable metal stools. Room gets VERY bright very early.
Comfortable and modern reception area, and seems a great hostel to meet other travellers - events and cheap eats at their café organised every night.
I've stayed at several other hostels including in Sydney, however this was not one of my favourites. I am 31 and most of those staying there were a lot younger - noisy on a Sat night with some clearly having drunk too much. Also disliked the showers - not powerful and just a 'trickle' of water.
Everything in the hotel is cool...
Nothing at all
The location of Wake Up! is perfect. You can catch the bus and train easily or walk anywhere you want to go. Staff was incredibly accommodating! Also the room/bathroom are very clean. The Sidebar is great to grab a drink and they have specials on drinks/food if you stay at Wake Up! Great experience!!
Went to the wake up purely because of the great location but the room was great, staff helpful and facilities just how we wanted them
Only fault was that the hangover the next day was kicked off early by the 10am check out but all hotels and hostels have this
bed and telly
no drink glass no towels
It's just like a college hostel, but with a full freedom to party :)
staff went out of their way to assist with all my requests.
other people staying at facility were short on good manners and etiquette. only to be expected).
- Good Wifi - Clean rooms and mostly good beds - Nice atmosphere - Very kind personal
- No free Wifi - No tables etc in our room - Too low showerheads - Dirty toiletts
beds very uncomforable, noise, people banging on doors, cleaning staff told us we had to be out and it was only 9am, very rude for a private room $148 a night i could of stayed at a 4 star for the same price!!!
lack of sleep very noicey all night, people partying and knocking on doors
We don't like the beds and the shelf.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Location is perfect if you need to commute to and from the city via either rail, bus or transfer to airport
Requested late check out and did get a response. Room was comfortable and clean but very large window with only thin blinds made it very light in the morning and you could hear quite a bit of noise in the hallway. (It's a backpackers so this was to be expected I guess)
