Y Hotel City South is a funky 3-star hotel offering terrific friendly service and is the most affordable and clean accommodation in the city.

Recently the hotel had a makeover, giving it a new stylish look and a modern gym. While the rooms are cosy, they are modern, stylish and well-equipped with everything a busy traveller needs. A complimentary continental breakfast is also included. We have singles, doubles, twins, triples and family rooms to choose from, as well as a large 2-bedroom apartment. For comfort and cleanliness, all rooms are non-smoking.

The hotel is surrounded by some great cafés and is an easy 8 minute walk to Central Station. You can find bargains and great shopping at Broadway and Market City, not to mention all the excitement and nightlife you can find in Chinatown and Darling Harbour. The historic suburbs of Newtown and Glebe with their great range of unique boutiques and shops are also within walking distance.

The Sydney University and the Sydney Institute of Tafe are just a 10 minutes walk away, while the University of Technology and the Australian Technology Park are only 6 minutes walk away.

For sports fanatics, there is an Olympic Pool during the summer in the Alfred Park and there is an all year round pool at 10 minutes' walking distance in Victoria Park, which also boasts playing fields and jogging areas. Going to an event? We are 2 km away from Moore Park - the home of Aussie Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground. Buses and transport can take you there!

despite the exterior of the hotel (that was not really gorgeous, to be honest), rooms and communal areas are very nice (and new!!)

for a couple, the room I had could be small (for Single is perfect)

room was clean.

The room was not what I expected for the money ($120) and was far too small. We had just arrived from overseas and by the time we got our luggage in, there was no space for us to move around. Location was poor - no decent places to eat within walking distance that we could find.

Close to airport

Website mentioned shuttle service but actually referred to generally available shuttle from airport- clearer info on the website for people from overseas about how to access the shuttle service at the airport would be better

friendly staff and hotel facilities

Hotel location and size of room. It was extremely difficult to cross the road in front of the hotel. Also, the hotel situates by the train route and some what tough neighbourhood. The noise and rundown houses nearby made me feel uneasy.

Het hotel lag op een redelijke goede locatie in de stad, qua openbaar vervoer. Het personeel in het hotel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

De kamer was erg klein en er was heel veel geluid van buiten (trein / metro / weg). Het ontbijt stelde weinig voor; toast met jam of cornflakes.

Sa situation par rapport au centre ville

L'hôtel est situé juste en bordure de la voie de chemin de fer conduisant à central station et la chambre que l'on nous a attribuée donnait sur ces voies autant dire que nous n'avons guère dormi car le trafic est très dense.d'autre part il convient de signaler que la chambre est minuscule: à 2 personnes on n'est pas à l'aise et le lit est placé dans un angle contre le mur...

バスルームの清掃が十分でない時があった。朝食がパン、牛乳、ジュース、コーヒーだけだった。ヨーグルト、ソーセージがあるとうれしい。

Günstige Lage zur Stadt.

Sehr kleine Zimmer. Hotel liegt neben einer stark befahrenen Straße sowie den Eisenbahnschienen. Frühstücksbuffet verdient diesen Namen nicht - bestand nur aus Toastbrot, Marmelade und Butter, Kornflakes, Milch und Kaffee.
