Guesthouse Kandilj

Eine nette und freundliche, fast familiäre Aufnahme und Hilfsbereitschaft des ganzen Teams im Kandilj haben mich sehr beeindruckt; habe mir schon jetzt fest vorgenommen auch bei meinem nächsten Aufenthalt in Sarajevo dieses Gästehaus zu buchen!

mal ganz davon abgesehen, daß sarajevo eine traumhafte stadt voller wunderbarer menschen ist, bietet das kandilj mit seinem kleinen innenhof und seiner zentralen lage genau den liebenswürdigen ruhepol, den man bei den lebhaften tag- und gerne auch mal ausufernden nachtaktivitäten gut gebrauchen kann.

jeden morgen ein frisch zubereitetes käseomelette serviert zu bekommen, ist wahrlich hartes brot für den cholesterinspiegel – aber wer kann da schon nein sagen

Ich wurde schon sehr hilfsbereit an der Rezeption empfangen. Man bot mir an stets zu meinen Diensten zu sein und mir bei allem was ich benötige zu helfen. Alles war nie ein Problem.....echt super!!!

Keinen Arbeitstisch/Stuhl im Zimmer, trotz Internetanschlussmöglichkeit per Kabel: Laptop muss tatsächlich auf "lap" gestellt werden.

Nice Hotel, furnished in an old Bosnian style. Very clean and quite. Perfect for expending a relaxing hollidays. It's managed by really kindly people who would help you and explain everything you need to enjoy the city. Just perfect.

Very friendly people, quite newly renovated, central location, nice breakfast. Places like this really stick out of this still rather depressing city, which is so nice and picturesquely situated but still full of ruins.

We did not have the feeling that the porter checked everyone coming in, but maybe they have a camera hidden somewhere. The tables in the lovely breakfast room are Turkish style -- just above your knees -- and some of the seats are just low stools. But when we stayed there (August/September), there was lots of room for everyone, thus no problem once you learn to focus on leaning back. There are pretty mean pickpockets around the bazaar. Mother grabs arm with fingernails, daughter digs into your bag, son bugs accompanying person. Another note: Half the restaurant in the bazaar do not sell alcohol and it is hard to see the difference from outside

The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel is in a good location close to all the sights and very reasonable in cost.

The room was not very nice. There was no window, it was dark and gloomy, we could not relax in it. The outside "courtyard" was absolutly tiny and was of no use, you couldn't sit out and relax in it after a days shopping/sightseeing. We did not want to spend anytime at the hotel it was simply used to sleep in, for which it was good, nice bed, good shower and very clean. If you just want a crash pad its great.

The staff was excellent and did everything to make the stay pleasant. The morning breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. The location, although not in the middle of the bazaar as advertised, was convenient.

This is the best value for comfortable, clean, and friendly lodging in Sarajevo. It is perfectly located, 5 mins walk (just over the Latin Bridge) to Bascarsija (Old Town), and has easy tram and trolley bus access as well. Plus, just steps from the guesthouse is a neighborhood grocery with an ATM machine. Wireless and A-C worked great and breakfasts were wonderful. Stayed here a total of two weeks over a 5 week period and could not have been more pleased with this place.
