Ocean Spray Beach Apartments  

The staff at the desk was very kind and helpful.

The staff in the kitchen. They did not smile once. The girl especially seemed irritated by our very presence, like we were interrupting something, or as if she were annoyed that she had to cook for us. The overpriced food already included a tip, and I tipped extra, yet she still seemed upset. All she did was cook our food and come and set it on the table! It wasn't like we were waited on hand and foot like at a real restaurant. She just dropped our plate in front of us and that was that. We were so irritated with her that for dinner we chose to go buy groceries at a nearby convenience store, rather than eating at that restaurant again.

The size of apartments.Very nice.

Location,its too long of everywhere... No pool. The beaches are no sands.

Christ Church is a great location for consistent surfing when other areas of the island are flat. Big with kite surfing as well as SUP. Ocean Spray provided a great location where you are on the beach and close to the action. Zed's surf adventures is next door so you can walk over for you lessons or rental gear. Ocean Spray provided a continental breakfast which was a great way to start the day. Great place!

Location was super. Although more information about the obscure location. Ideal for surfers. Could be a fantastic location for all ages. But sadly badly managed !! Great reception staff.

The indifferent attitude of the kitchen staff. The dirty resturant and the badly needed updating of some of the apartments. Needs much firmer management. Not good value for money. We did speak to the owner/manager and to be fair took on board our comments. He also did have the kitchen cleaned but we did not feel confident enough to try a second breakfast after the abortion of the first breakfast. Main room didn't have a/C. Just a fan. We felt as if our money was wasted on this apartment. It was given 5* but in truth it was barely a 3*.

The view from the apartment was beautiful

It was way out from everything, there was one small shop a 5 min walk away. If you needed more shops it was a taxi ride or a bus. Swimming areas were small but the surf was too rough, not good for children. Great for kite boarding and wind surfing. The restaurant was only open a couple of nights so if you wanted to eat out it was a taxi ride away.

You must know there is no space for relaxing swimming because of waves

Close to airport but not in earshot. Constant sound of the surf. Fantastic sea views.

View from window is amazing. For people that like ocean this is the best place. Beach is not sandy but view is wonderful.

This establishment promotes itself based on proximity to airport and its location on the beach. It might be both of these things, but there is very little else to recommend it. The apartments are poorly built in terms of both design and finish. Shabbily fitted out. Poorly maintained. And not even cheap.

The attendant was very courteous and tried to please. Clean for the age.

In out laying area. No shuttle van was available unless you schedualed and paid extra. Rooms were out dated. Continantial Breakfast was not served early enought to get back to the airport and catch connecting flight.Started serving at 7:30

Overnight stay while travelling on business so did not see much. Even so I appreciated the politeness and helpfulness of the night Receptionist. Kitchenette at front of room and stocked with crockery. Room rustic and charming. Shower invigorating. Located in a community and so promotes a warmth and friendliness. Wake-up call provided on time and in person. Requested taxi to airport was waiting. .

Room was not stocked with items for making hot beverage - coffee, tea, milk, sugar etc. There was what seemed like sand on the bed and then I wondered what else could be on the bed. Continual loud noise from the fridge in the room. No shower cap in bathroom. Shower stall could be cleanier with minimum effort. In fact charm would be improved by minimum effort in just making the existing room look cleaner.

Convenient, near airport, available!

The staff was fantastic. Nice intimate location. The sunrises were a treat to see from our bed.

Clothing storage was limited

Very nice location in a quiet area right on the bank (very rocky, so no beach). Just 10 minutes drive (also easy accessible by public transport - buses) from Oystins city with numerous restaurants and bars. Very good value for money.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The view on the sea was great and the included breakfast was nice too.

Because of the windy, moist atmosphere, everything in the apartment was vaguely wet (understand humid) : towels, couch cushions...

I was really impressed by the Ocean Spray Apartment set up, I'm 25 and so wasn't after a big luxury resort style hotel, just a room to sleep in and somewhere for breakfast. The room was much bigger than I expected, was clean and well kept, had fresh towels brought in daily, had a lovely big balcony that I was told wasn't a "sea view" room, but I could definitely see the sea (30m away!) Staff were friendly and helpful, the food was ace and all home made. Can't wait to get back! Zed's surf school is a 40m walk down the beach...perfect!

I didn't dislike anything, but they provide breakfast and they can cook you lunch if you want, but their kitchen isn't open in the evenings.

The front lobby and the staff were amazing! The outside of the building, layout of the exterior of rooms to the beach with it's own ocean access.

The linens of the room needs to be updated. The shower curtain needs to be higher end. The bed needs to be bigger and sturdier. This place could be a gold mine, it just needs better furnitire and linens! the bathroom mirror was a joke. I stayed in room number 12. The floor needs to be refinished to keep with the seaside look. It wasn't worth the price. There are other places to stay that are nicer. It was my last option at such a late booking date. I loved the outiside. I loved the staff! They were amazing. There needs to be hardboiled eggs included for the breakfast price. Other wise breakfast was great!

Liked the proximity to the ocean, the breezes coming off the ocean into the unit, the views, proximity to other locations like Georgetown and Oistins. All staff from the chef, to reception to cleaning were excellent and tried to help us in any way they could. Variety at the complimentary breakfast was good.

1 br apartments advertised as air conditioned, when, in fact, only one (which did not have a great view) was so equipped. No facecloths available, kitchen modestly equipped (no pans for oven), gas oven obviously orginal from the 50's (pitted, repainted, rusty) and the fridge could have been replaced as well. Tv small and older type, not flat screen and only in the bedroom, none in the main living area. No ceiling fans, only one standup you had to keep moving around to cool off depending on your location at the time. Ad should be reflective of fact no ac. Did not want to waste time looking for another location, because we were only in Barbados for 4 nights.

The staff were very friendly and there were lots of home cooked goodies and choice for the morning breakfast. If you wanted eggs or something more, the prices were reasonable. There is a lazy feel to this place, as it is a surf area and life is an adventure. This is not 5 star hotel in anyway, but is clean, quiet and good value for the money.

The apartments are not the easiest to find in the night so be sure to have good directions and keep the number handy, as you may need the staff to help direct you in.

Rememeber this is Barbados and hotels are generally expensive. Also remember the concept of an address doesn't work here! Think 16th century England, you must meet people to get anywhere. I do love the...... We never get lost we have adventures....... In barbadian thinking I needed a better location for business but also needed to understand the remotness of the island, the locals, locations and still enjoy nature. It is hard to get it all. If you are a nature loving family and wanted beach, surf okay with no pool etc. This is good. The staff really tries in all ways. Very sincere and sweet. I would come back. Really a 1 star but the staff are a 5 star and someday soon will get to a 2 star ( I am not paid to write this!)

The setting was beautiful. You are just steps away from the ocean.

The toilet did not work. They moved me to another room and the toilet didn't work there either. The 1st room was tacky. Furniture and bedding needed updating. Second room was better, but still needed updating and sprucing up. The website indicated that there was shuttle service to the hotel. There was no shuttle service except that which you arranged for and paid for. The website is misleading and caused me tremendous grief.
