The setting was idyllic. Bathsheba is my favourite place in Barbados. The staff were really friendly, the room was great.
The food was hugely overpriced. For what we paid it was really disappointing, a mediocre meal. Security cameras everywhere made us feel a little nervous - big brother watching everything, it spoiled our romantic weekend. Overall very overpriced for Barbados.
The view, the staff, the amenities and the fact that the bar is based on the honor system is simply amazing. The dinner served on premises was fantastic. There isn't much to do in the area, but it's all fun. Everyone is nice and it's great to be able to go back and just relax at the Sea-U and enjoy your holiday. They have snacks and all types of drinks at the bar too so it's not all alcohol, and you just write down your room number, quantity and take what you want. The prices at the bar are also comparable with the prices throughout the city, beers are 2 dollars rum punch 5-6, snacks are 1-2 dollars, and that matches perfectly with anywhere else on the island, so it's not jacked up hotel prices. I highly recommend the Sea-U-Guest house.
We rented the separate suite that was apart from the other units. However, there are actually 2 units in the suite. And we were on the bottom, unfortunately the guests above us were very heavy footed and their stomps traveled through the entire unit. It was rare but in the mornings and hte nights they were kind of loud. We live in NYC and have to deal with things like that alot, but on holiday was hoping we could get away from that. Otherwise it was perfect.
The rooms, the breakfast, the views, the hammocks, the staff, the quiet location.Good proximity to surf.
Lack of places to eat in the evening in the Bathsheba area. You MUST book a restaurant, some close in the evenings, you can't eat every night at Sea-U. Lack of air conditioning in room and thought there was direct access to beach.
The guesthouse looks just as in the pictures, really amazing!! the view is the best i have ever seen. it is indeed a jewel! the rooms are very beautiful too and the breakfast area is super nice. i really loved the hammocks everywhere. it is a very tranquil and relaxing place. good to read and write and just calm down from all stress. everybody from the staff is super friendly and i felt safe at all times.
it is very far from all action like partys or bars or basically anything. you really need a car when you stay on this side of the island i find.. and the beach is not really to bathe in, but thats everywhere on the eastcoast. but basically thats all complaints about the eastcoast location. the hotel itself is flawless...
Very nice staff and facility
Very costly to travel around the island
Sea-U is a charming location at the almost non-touristic east coast of Barbados. Very nice breakfast and dinner room midst in the garden.
At least during our stay in December it was very windy and a lot of salt in the air coming from the ocean. All of this is not a fault of Sea-U, but you need to like it if you want to stay more than a few days. The mattress in our room was too soft (even though we are light weights).
Loved the location and the boutique style of the hotel. The meals were fantastic and the view was priceless, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway while staying in Barbados!
Fantastic atmosphere and room, a paradise place
