The outside balcony nx to the sea
Im usually not the type to leave bad review but I couldn't help this time... this was one of my most horrible experience of a hotel...first off. . Dont be foolish like me and book off of pictures. .. I did... I stayed in Barbados prior and stayed at a more of a guest house.. this time around I wanted to feel the "luxurious" feeling and bump across silver point and thought it was what I was looking for... hmm.. oh yes u can get that feel but not from ya room.. from outside on thier beautiful sea side balcony (I think thats what I paid for, best thing about the hotel). Here also where you'll have to go to catch decent enough wifi another topic I will later discuss.. so what I will do is compare my experience with the boutique hotel and the simple guest house.. guest house = 100.5% cheaper, bigger, all amenities (microwave, stove, silverware, iron and iron board, pots etc), bright lighting, stong reliable wifi from room, enough plug ins - provided in the bathroom especially. Boutique hotel = Expensive, small; I actually requested a different room from the one I was originally appointed to because 1st off.. NOTHING like what was displayed on the website, 2nd tiny space... it has an upstairs yes which take you to an attic like to the bed AND THE BED ONLY.. LITERALLY..so if you happen to be claustrophobic DONT get that room, third.. the phone and tv is downstairs so make sure u get your did b4 u embark to upstairs it will be u the bed and the a/c, 4th.. no sort of wifi connection from the downstair so imagine upstairs.. and 5th its about 6 flights of steps up to the room
beach has never been cleaned far away from everything
The hotel staff was all amazing and very friendly and nothing was too much for any of then - the service we received was top - The sunbeds were perfect for a relaxing day in the sun -the pool and restaurant area was very user friendly and always keep clean.
The hotel Wifi was very slow or sometime nonexistent!
Location on beautiful (wind)surfing beach. Nice restaurant right on the water. Close to airport.
Open air lobby - luggage got wet. Cluttered reception office. Surly staff. No WiFi in room. Room number embossed on the bed headboard - felt like a prison cell #. Room expensive with arid decor and small bathroom.
Location wasn't too touristy, great beach. The room was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helped with finding activities, as well as a place to shower and change after checking out. Restaurant was decent.
WiFi was pretty bad. Restaurant was a bit pricey.
Great for kitesurfing, good for families, like the size of the hotel, like the informality and dining options.
Staff could be a little friendlier.
Really nice hotel, staff and had a really great stay. Taxi sent to pick us up from the airport which was much appreciated. Food at the on premises restaurant was really excellent. There is a surfers bar up the beach which I recommend everyone visits. If you love windsurfing/kite surfing its a great location (but rental is pricey). Would have no problem with staying there again but...
The price we were quoted was before tax so the price paid was higher than the one on the confirmation. The restaurant was pricey but the food was top notch. We were going to the nearby shop to purchase water/snacks because it was cheaper. Overall lovely place and would go again though.
Staff is friendly and flexible (they let us check out late at no extra charge) - food in restaurant is quite good.
People hog beds/chairs for the whole day, even though most were not used, so little chance of relaxing on the deck. There is no usable beach for swimming and no seating area on the beach. Most expensive rum punch on the Island. Our room lighting was very dim and there were not enough sockets. Hotel is somewhat isolated and you need a car.
Location was perfect, great spot for kitesurfing and chilling out. The food was very tasty, really good chef!
The prices at the bar and restaurant were astronomical. WAY overpriced. It tainted what was otherwise a great couple of days. You even had to pay for a cup of tea, coffee or a juice with breakfast separately! A meal for 2 was 300 Bajan dollars!!!!
Beach access a few steps from the hotel. Great cabanas and beach chairs overlooking the beach and ocean. Free parking was convenient. Modern and comfortable rooms.
Wifi didn't work well in the rooms. Nothing located in Silver Sands so helpful if you have a car. We had a few issues with our room (stained sheets, no towels) but staff were very great and responsive.
Views watching surfer unbelievable
Having to check out!
-nicely arranged ocean view suite -good pool area with sunbeds -friendly staff
-sea is rough there and full of seagrass, ideal for watersports but not for swimming/snorkeling -far off the lively places, better have a car to reach supermarket and restaurants
The hotel was very nice and had access to a beautiful beach. I felt secure staying there and the staff were always on hand to assist in anything you needed. The food was very nice as well with a nice bar and pool to enjoy and relax in. I had a great time and would visit again.
The hotels location was always a taxi ride from any other bars and restaurants. Which for some might not be an issue however if you are someone who wants to enjoy a beer and a bit of early evening atmosphere you will need to take a taxi to other parts of the south coast. St Lawrence Gap being one particular area good for night life. If you visit the hotel at busies times of the year their own bar may have more of an atmosphere which would ake a difference.
The lightness of room. The view and most of the staff that I encountered.
The distance from my friends and the town.
Breakfast Staff Spacious Rooms, Comfortable Bed Sun beds
Location of the hotel is very nice. Clean. Relaxing environement.
Very expensive prices at the restaurant for what you get. Almost cost us the same price to eat at the Silver Point Hotel then to go out to Champers where we had drinks and better food...
only a microwave no cooker
The food, room, cleaning of the room
Dirty bar, very poor dining place, chandelears only working for 50 %, dirty curtains on the swimming pool beds, dirty fabels in the dining place, no decoration as well,
As the hotel was out of the way from the hussle and bussle, it was very quiet, occasionally too quiet at times! However, there was good access to the beach and a lovely pool which we really enjoyed. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food and drink were priced well. To access other restaurants you have to take a taxi or zr bus. Most places were a short inexpensive ride away. Great hotel for young couples and others who just want a quiet, chilled time on the island.
Slightly out of the way from the main action.
I LOVE THE FREINDLINESS OF THE ENTIRE STAFF
THE ROOM COULD HAVE BEEN A BIT CLEANER, THE ROOM NEEDED DUSTING, THE CHAIRS IN THE L/R WERE DIRTY AND SMELLY. THE COVERS ON THE BED WERE NOT CHANGED EVERYDAY
The view The quietness of the hotel
Poor internet inside and in the porch area or even in the yard. A heap of hard Bird droppings on the porch on arrival as if the porch was not cleaned for days. The cleaner could not even get it out. Insufficient electrical outlets and the ones that were there could not be easily accessed. Large visible areas of the room were generally clean but lamp shades and other intricate places dirty and dusty. Window shades not heavy enough to allow for late sleeping.
I loved my stay at the Silver Point Hotel. From my beginning communication with the staff via email all efforts were made to make my stay a short but beautiful one. My flight arrived at 3am and they even sent a taxi to get me from the airport. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and think I might make this my "in transit" hotel of choice when traveling to the islands.
I have no complaints
Lovely area by the poolside. Saw the sheets and cushions changed daily. Nice beach, ideal for body boarding and surfing.
Food was quite expensive
Views, the balcony, all mod cons in the room.
The room and balcony were nice however some of the furnishings were getting a bit tatty e.g the armchair had dirty marks down arm and the shelf in the shower needed painting, The tap leaked at the back and shook as you used it. there should be a seperate power socket for the kettle as you have to kneel down under TV to plug in and quite dangerous electrics, too much plugged in to one socket. Alternatively, a automatic switch off on the kettle would be good. A nice modern striped orange and black cushion and a modern picture on the wall with orange in it would give the room a lift at not much extra cost.
Very friendly people and staff Very popular for kite surfing Clean pool, amazing rooms and i recommend taking the bus around as its a fun experience :)
The hotel was abit distant from everything and the beach at the time we went was full of seaweed, the restaurant should have different menu daily although the food was to a good quality
