At check-in, the receptionist (we believe the manager) at first dismissed our claim that 2-nights room charge (>$200 USD) had already been taken from my credit card 10 days before our arrival, consistent with the procedures permitted by Booking.com. Luckily, I had printed a statement from my credit-card company before leaving home, and therefore was prepared to present this as evidence of the earlier payment. This should never be required, and the management should be more thorough in updating the accounts of incoming guests before they arrive. Fortunately, the manager went to her files and discovered her error so that the correct additional payment was made. One of two air conditioners did not seem to work, but this was not a discomfort, and we did not ask staff to deal with this. One of the burners on the 2-element stove top needed encouragement to work, as did the electrical outlet near the stove top, but this was quickly remedied without involving staff.
The room was very clean and comfortable, with a nice through-going breeze all day and night. The maid service was excellent and friendly. The pool and balcony provided an enjoyable period of relaxation after the beach. Public access to Crane and Foul Bay beaches is only 5 minutes away by car, and two regular public bus routes that reach as far as Oistins and Bridgetown pass right in front of the hotel with good regularity. The location presents no hindrance to seeing and enjoying all aspects of Barbados if one has a car or is willing to use convenient public transport.
