The location was ideal, the room and comforts, the great breakfast, and the lovely family running the B & B.
We stayed in the 'Secret Suite' on the 1st floor. The room was very large, clean, comfortable with a large bathroom which had a 2 person bathtub that had claws for feet. The hosts were terrific offering us directions and bikes to get around. The B&B is 10 minutes from the train station and was very central for our needs. I highly recommend this B&B.
Location, cleanliness, comfort, space, roll top bath, large shower, breakfast choice and quality, mood lighting and music
The photos of this B&B really don't do it justice. Such a lovely building with lots of character and all the modern facilities you need. Staff were super friendly and we were overall more than satisfied with our stay!!!
The room is beautiful, the breakfast really good, and the location is perfect for a 2 days trip to Brugge.
The bed is a double single-bed, so it's not super comfortable to sleep.
Location, room, breakfast, staff, everything was jut perfect. We liked each and every minute staying there big time.
Location, breakfast, friendliness of owner, private garage parking, staying somewhere just a bit different
My wife and I stayed at 1669 for 2 nights in July 2014. The proprietors were out of town, and had arranged for two friends of theirs (Svein and Diana Kroningen) to care for the place. We can't say enough about the kind, thoughtful and efficient treatment we were privileged to receive. Diana helped me greatly to iron out some difficulties with our train transportation, and for that we were and are truly grateful. After she realized that I have difficulty with stairs, Diana insisted that we move to an adjacent facility (equally as charming) that has an elevator. In both facilities the rooms were spacious, quaint and spotlessly clean, with 21st century plumbing. And breakfast was an event to look forward to! Added bonus: Svein is a master artist - his atelier is 4 or 5 doors down and he treated us to an exclusive display of his works. What a collection! But the best of our stay was the fellowship with Diana and Svein and the other guests - both hosts have highly developed senses of humor. Both places are a few steps from " 't Putje", a highly rated restaurant with excellent food. Room Tip: we can recommend the "Atelier" but they are all good, centuries old, but clean, efficient...
Excellent location and all the old world charm, with fantastic upgrades. A very unique building and very comfortable rooms. Excellent staff with good local recommendations . Stayed in the Loft suite - really nice and unique! We will be back!
There is no lift, so lots of stairs. If you are able - the rooms, are worth it
Lovely setting and location. Beautiful building and interior. Great breakfast and friendly staff, would definitely stay again. Loved it
Smelly soil pipe/drain issue. Wasn't too bad as seemed to be a one off. Offered different room if problem worsened
The locality is great, the staff was really helpful. The furnishing is beautifull.
The wifi in the loft doesn´t work very well...
The owner, Karina, was very nice and accommodating; breakfast was excellent; home-baked bread was superb; bed was comfortable; it was an easy walk to anyplace in old city.
Smell in bathroom of drains but I realize this is due to old plumbing system in house or city.
Location very central Beautiful and spacious room Complimentary water and wine 24h coffee, tea and fruit downstairs Historical building, eyecatcher Enormous bath Speakers in bathroom too Quality bathroom products View on St Salvator's church
Late check in (16:00) Church bells could be problematic if you fancy a lie-in (personally we didn't mind it too much)
The location was perfect - close to pretty much everything but in a quiet street. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the B&B - the room was very spacious and clean, and the bottle of wine was a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious and included fresh orange juice, pastries, and warm bread with lots of accompaniments.
If you are bothered by the noise of people walking on hard wood floors above you, I would recommend booking the loft room. Fortunately our upstairs neighbours weren't too loud, but I could see this being an issue for some people. The bathroom was very nice but the shower setup was a bit uncomfortable. The curtains go all the way around the bath, and when the shower is turned on the curtains close in on you. I am a fairly petite woman and there was no way to get the wet curtains away without turning the shower off, so I wouldn't recommend it for tall people. Finally the WiFi only worked in our bathroom and wasn't great even then. I don't see the point of advertising free WiFi if it doesn't work in the room!
Great building in a great location, easy walking distance within the Brugge city centre. Very nice rooms with lots of space both in bedroom and bathroom. Very nice hosts and good breakfast.
Nothing negative to report.
Fantastic location, super breakfasts and lovely service
Struggled to get wifi on iPhone
A lovely B&B with some very quirky traditional design features, along with very modern twists. Loved our stay, will definitely be back.
Bed was two twins put together, unable to connect to wifi
Great location lovely old building , not a full breakfast as expected
Very noisy gust above stomping around in heavy boots and high heels at all hours
It was lovely! We were welcomed with great warmth. Our loft room was simple but very romantic. Breakfasts were yummy and plentiful. The location was central and ideal as a base for exploration of Bruges.
Loved the look and feel, very shabby chic/ rustic. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were very attentive and lovely. The location was also perfect, right in the heart of bruges near bars, cafes, restaurants and a beautiful cathedral.
that I had to leave and return to work.
The roof and the view of saint salvator cathedral
The money...i think it's too expensive 140€ per night
Great location and very cosy and nice room. Very friendly host.
The location is great! All the shops are close, the centre is also within 3 minutes, the host is wonderful!!! I liked the ability of having tea and coffee anytime you like, it was good to have something hot to drink after a long walk. The bed linen was awesome!!!
The church starts singing at 7.35, be ready! And sometimes we could hear what was happening outside the building
