Location, staff were friendly and attentive, ample parking, place is clean and tidy and next door to a nice Italian restaurant.
Beds were not very comfy
Nice room, comfy bed and easy parking. Great for the battlefield.
Check in was slightly convoluted but not too bad.
Clean and quite. A great place to stay in perfect proximity to the Battlefield and easy to get to by public transport. Staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent location for touring the Waterloo battle field. Quiet. Next to a couple of good and reasonable restaurants and five minutes from centre of Waterloo town.
Location actually on the battlefield. Pleasant, helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room. For anyone travelling to Waterloo to view the battlefield, this is a must stay hotel.
Staff great close to Waterloo monument
Room was small
Just about everything
Bit of a shower problem but dealt with by helpful staff
Rooms very comfortable. Location is excellent for Battle of Waterloo enthusiasts
Reception desk was not manned 24hrs and I had to wait half an hour for someone to arrive so I could pay my bill. There was no kettle in the rooms for making tea or coffee
location and clean rooms. has been renovated but some fixtures and fittings were poor quality and badly fitted/ finished.
only continental cold buffet breakfasts.
Close to the monument a quiet location and clean comfortable hotel nice breakfast
Out of town- so it isn't to easy access to local restaurants if you have decided to have a Belgian beer!
Personable hotel interested in making every guest feel at home. Location excellent. Catering very good, great banqueting breakfast.
Radiator pipes under the floor made our first floor rooms too hot (second floor rooms need more heat than first floor, I am told). So at 26 degrees Celsius, too hot for children. The road is closed between the hotel and the direct motorway route. A helpful note on the website would be good, but ten days after my request, their website shows no information. Disappointing when travelling in the dark and the GPS satnav shows no road closure. The hotel should do more.
Room was very hot; No desk in the room to work at
The bed was huge and comfortable. Dinner menu was stunning, food was excellent.
Breakfast was boring. Cold meats and bread.
Good location if you're interested in the history of the Battle of Waterloo.
No dinner offered. Breakfast not worth the cost. Hotel a little run-down.
Comfortable hotel in perfect location for viewing the battlefield. Friendly staff Comfortable rooms. Good Restaurant
Breakfast disappointing and Restaurant not open every day
Was perfect for what we needed it for. We were going to the Sunday morning brocante at the Carrefour and it was very close to it. Staff checking in was friendly and the free parking was nice.
Set within easy walking distance of the Butte du Lion (Lion Mound) visitor centre and a few yards from the site of Wellington’s tree (now long gone), the hotel has plenty of parking at the rear for guests. We were pleasantly surprised when we were shown to our accommodation which fronted on to the car park. Our room was in the process of being painted and so we were provided with an extremely comfortable suite of rooms (bedroom/bathroom/shower room/office). There was a fridge (bar) with the usual drinks in the room (soft drinks and beer - no wine or spirits). There was Wi-Fi available in the room as there was in the main hotel areas (a password is required). Surprisingly, although the room fronted on to the car park there was no discernible noise. The restaurant menu was good and the meal was excellent, the staff attentive and easily available. Breakfast (€12 each) was extensive with cheeses, ham, various breads, croissants, comfiture, yoghurt, juices, water, tea/coffee, etc.
Unfortunately the restaurant is not open on Sundays but locally we noticed several other restaurants/cafes including one by the Lion Mound. Other restaurants nearby included Italian (next door to the hotel) and within easy driving distance a Chinese, Japanese and myriad others. Wi-Fi is a bit If-Fi
Close proximity to battle site. One of the few remaining old buildings so close to 'the mound'. The staff were helpful.
It was hard to sleep because of the traffic. The hotel is on a through road linking two major roads and close to a busy cross roads. The through road is currently blocked next to the Museum, Panorama and Mound, due to major development in readiness for next year's bi-centenary. Unfortunately the traffic was unaware of this and all night zoomed up to the road block and then zoomed back again to the main junction. Take earplugs.
Ideally situated for the Waterloo battlefield which was why we were there. Free parking and only 2 minutes walk to the mount. The resteraunt was excellent.
Location is perfect if you are visiting the battlefield, and i mean perfect you are approx 100m from La Haye Sante. The Lion Mound and Panaroma is 5m away, There is a shop/petrol garage around a 15m walk away. There is 3 restaurants on the little strip including the one attached to the hotel, i didnt eat at any of them so cant comment, but they were always full
Really good stay but breakfast at €12 was a bit steep so i didnt partake, wifi also a bit steep but works very well
Staff friendly with excellent restaurant
Has improved from last year, not so much of a run-down feeling. Location is exceptional for people interested in history.
Not the hotels fault but lots of building and roadworks at the moment. Lots of road closures making Satnav use difficult for finding hotel.
friendly staff, clean, good location close to Waterloo hill and museum, quiet place, taxis available
we needed the taxi (sometimes very expensive in Belgium, (eg 80 euro for 23 km from airport), because there was no restaurant open in walking area for a dinner. I had very small room with very poor or not functioning lighting and wall plugs hanging outside the wall - dangerous. It need quite a repair and service. one have to pay for wifi.
Location was good i could see the memorial and battle grounds from my window. Room was nice bathroom was a good size. Had a TV but sound not very loud could watch BBC 1. Free parking on site. Good Wi Fi signal but had to pay €5 for 24 hours which wasn't too bad. Room is very hot but we had a large fan and kept the window open. Staff we met were nice and polite. We were lucky to get this room for only £45 it's not worth the £80-£100 they normally charge
Had a mini bar in room but it only came with 2 bottles of water. Inside could have done with a clean. There is a restaurant but in the afternoon it was packed with coach load of people. Tried to get a hot chocolate in the evening but restaurant was closed but the reception did offer to make me a nesquick. I think due to the lack of a restaurant or bar being open for guests then a well stocked mini bar and tea coffee facilities should be in the room. Can't comment on breakfast as it was €12. personally I don't think any breakfast is worth that. So never had it.
The staff were very helpful. The garden was lovely.
The room was extremely hot in spite of the staff trying to find ways to cool it. The aircraft using Brussels Airport were very noisy
