Agenda Midi Hotel  

Best asset near the Eurostar station - 5 minute walk. Basic clean hotel with a good fresh continental breakfast. I would suggest a more central hotel if visiting for tourism, but excellent for a business overnight stay

Nothing really, comments on web site say seedy area. It is really no worse or better than any other city where you have a major station, the immediate surrounding area is always a bit grim, but better than I expected.

Corridors tiny, rooms are not clean and with smell of cigarettes, however it should be non-smoking room. Breakfasts really poor - tea/coffee and croissant

Location was good, staff were friendly and helpful. No problem to book at the last minute.

A surprisingly good little hotel. The exterior and the area are a bit off-putting but inside it was comfortable, warm and clean. There was a small lounge with free wi-fi and the breakfast was very good. All in all, it was very good. Would go back there again.

Very poor lift, kept jamming and people getting stuck. The staircase was very narrow and spiralled therefore difficult to use when carrying luggage.

- Desolated room: burned hole in the flooring, only one power socket for (empty) minibar, tv, ironing boy and water jug - generally dirty - not nice surrounding

Proximity to Gare du Midi and city centre with Grand Place etc. and Public Transport, quiet room, helpful & friendly staff. Free internet access was very much appreciated (practically impossible in London!). We considered it value for money.

Outside appearance does not reflect the quality appointment to be found inside, security arrangements alleviated any possible unease the multicultural environment may cause (in any case and in relation to comments made by previous guests, two eldely women were quite comfortable coming and going at any time of day and evening). It was only the minimalistic lift that caused a few hickups until the above helpful staff patiently explained the cause thereof.

The hotel is near the Gare du Midi, but not in a pleasant area - next to a sex club, located on a very busy intersection, bleak surroundings, the walk to the old centre of town takes one through the immigrant area of Brussels - interesting and different, not what one expects visiting Brussels. The hotel staff were efficient, but reserved; continental breakfast average. Building is shabby, rooms not recently decorated. Tiny, rickety lift.

Its location

We were very happy with the desk staff. We had questions about transportation within Brussels, and both employees we saw were actively helpful beyond what is necessary. The online booking was also quite easy, and we felt we got good value in having been able to book (3 days) at a reduced rate.

The neighbourhood - no fault of the hotel - is a little down-at-heel, but on the other hand it is perfect for travel with the Eurostar, just across the street at Brussel-Zuid station.
