Not far to walk to city centre, or to get to Gare du Nord for trains to Bruges/Antwerp etc. Very cheap accommodation. Should be more obvious on the site that this hotel is located just round the corner from the red light district!

The location was fine and close enough to the city centre. The hotel was extremely run down and looked like it needed a lot of work. The staff were unfriendly and not helpful. The breakfast cost £5 a person, was not sufficient and ended well before the 10am stop time we were told. When we got downstairs at 9:30, there was hardly anything left and we were told that they would not provide us with anything else. The room was very old looking and smelled dusty. The whole place just felt very unsafe. My phone rang 3 times during the night and when I picked up no one was there. I normally stay in budget accommodation and youth hostels, but decided for the price (it was on special) I would try a hotel and 'treat' myself. This place was worse than any hostel I've ever stayed in and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Hotel Albergo is great value. The bathrooms are spacious and the beds are also big. Don't expect a five star hotel but for the price, it gives you much more than what you paid for. The stairs were narrow and it was dark in the hallways sometimes since the lights automatically turn off.

Staff more or less friendly, breakfast is ok (3+) No light in the room despite many request to fix, noisy place (lots of traffic) right behind the window. "Worn" hotel, owners don't want to invest any mony to improve anything...I'll never stay again!

Location They reserved the amount for one night from by bank account and after I paid them (in cash) it took me two weeks to get the reserved amount back. By the way - no elevator and very squeaky stairs which wake you up because people arrive or leave at night and have to take them to get to their room...

Location was pretty good. Cabs are pretty pricey here, so it is worth the walk. The bathroom was very tiny and it wasn't as maintained as I would have liked it to be. Also, the stairs are tiny!

Cheap price. You get what you pay for,I needed a room to store my luggage while out and a bed to sleep in. Good location, not far from Brussels Nord train station, Place Rogier,City 2 mall and Rue Neuve/Adolphe Maxlaan (shopping streets). The hotel staff had did not have a good level of english.

The hotel is a good choice if you are looking far a good budget option. The rooms were clean and the beds quite nice. I had a room on the ground floor and there was a slight issue with the noise coming from the reception.Further, I had some issues in operating the shower and had some trouble to stop the water from running.

This hotel is rated as “pleasant” in booking.com website. Its description goes on with features such as: “Each room also benefits from private bathroom facilities with a bath or shower.” Nothing more misleading! The toilet is a shared one, consisting of a wc with no tap water basin! Stairs (no lift) are steep and narrow, a real problem with even medium size luggage. My room was run down and totally different from the images shown on the website. Most of the accessories in the room are not working. The original doors of the shower stall have long been lost and substituted with now moldy curtains. No soap, except for a dispenser of a blue clean-all detergent inside the shower stall. Just one launderette-type hanger in the wardrobe. Long time-ago-white “clean” towels are of a permanent grey colour, inexorably stained with black stains and definitely they do not smell clean. The staff seems busy to cook kind of exotic food in the day and the not so much appealing smell may be felt through the stairs and enters your room. The stairs lights turn off frequently and it is hard to find the switch once you are left in the dark. The rooms are dirty, smelly and smoking rooms. All around where the windows open or in the closets with no doors is covered with litter or discarded pieces of furniture. Lights are dim everywhere in the hallways and in the rooms and the cleaning over the day was basically inexistent. I was also impressed by the inexplicably high rating attributed to this hotel by some guests which were nevertheless pointing out to some of these very serious inconveniences/defects. In my opinion the conditions in which this hotel is kept should not allow it to be ranked in the booking.com list and I wonder if it would comply to the minimum requirements of the Brussels City Tourist Authority.

Good location and good value for money. Hotel stuff is helpful, though not all them know English. However, it seems to be the problem of the city, but not of the Hotel Albergo. Could be cleaner.

Conveniently close to Noord station. Possibly one of the nastiest hotel rooms I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. I was stuck in the only downstairs room, below ground level with two windows which had been bricked up. The hallway outside absolutely stank. I like indian food but not to be welcomed by the overwhelming smell of it all through the corridor right up to my bedroom door. Huge cobwebs indicated the room hadn't been cleaned this year. Shower head missing leaving simply a rubber pipe. Shower itself not cleaned and still containing previous guests shower gel etc. Furniture looked reclaimed from a junk yard. Wire hanging out of wall where bedside light should be. Tv with dodgy picture on all channels. Receptionist busier with her facebook account than serving guests. Just vile all round.

Actually nothing and will not come back to that hotel. I did not like the surrounding - red light street in the neighbourhood. The first night there was no toilet in the room, shower in the corner of the room. We changed for the next night. The rooms were terribly dirty, I hope that bed coverings were washed at least, the set of towels in double room only for one person. The price was lower comparing to other hotels but considering the standard should be lower 30%. Some people of stuff talking basic English or French.
