The hotel was well priced, family run, in an excellent location and breakfast was delicious.

There are a lot of stairs to the top rooms but a lift is being installed so this won't be a problem for long. The height meant great views!

Central location couldn't be better-easy walking distance to main attractions and eateries. Narrow staircase typical for Europe hotels is a challenge if you have heavy suitcases as we did. Good breakfast selections. Helpful proprietor arranged taxi and thoughtful note for our very early morning departure. When windows are open for fresh air the night time traffic and noisy pedestrians outside is a distraction. Quality of soaps and shampoos could be improved as they are cheap and of minimal quantity.

Excellent location, 2 minute walk to the Markt and attractions - very easy to pop back to the hotel. Breakfast was very good - home mad scrambled eggs and fresh orange juice. Bed very comfortable and room clean.

Pillows were a little odd - like they were filled with sponge

Convenient position to explore Bruges, beautifully set out breakfast especially loved the enclosed courtyard on the sunny morning. The beds were comfy and big, and the owner, who seemed to do everything was sweet and very helpful. Had a lovely stay.

Our only complaint was, as we were in a front room, the noise of cars going over the cobbles during the evening and overnight was very noisy, and it was too warm to keep the windows closed, which would have helped a bit.

What a pleasant place right in the heart of beautiful Bruges! The rooms are lovelingly and tastefully furnished, the hotel is tidy and elegant. Moreover the staff has been very welcoming, attentive and kind throughout our whole stay. Make sure to not miss out on the breakfast, best to be enjoyed in the pleasant, natural backyard & garden. Thank you, dear Family De Muynck! We will definitely choose this hotel again for our next trip to Bruges.

Very clean, very friendly. Great facilities. Very close to the tourist spots.

Our room was at the front of the hotel - above a very busy cobbled street. There was constant traffic on the street which I found noisy - in fairness it may have been worse on the night we stayed as Belgium were playing the USA in the World Cup. However, I would stay again but request a room at the rear.

The pictures of this hotel do not lie - rooms are exactly as depicted - spotless, tastefully decorated, comfortable and complete with needed amenities. The hotel has high standards for itself and you can sense it all around. Breakfast was ample with fresh squeezed orange juice served personally. Hotel manager/owner could not have been more warm, accommodating and knowledgeable about everything there is to know about enjoying Brugge.

    Absolutely nothing negative to say.

Varonique (apologies if I have spelled your name wrong) was a pleasure to deal with. She was very helpful, very friendly and a credit to the hotel. Due to a disability I was using crutches and Varonique helped me with my bags and gave me some suggestions on how to see Bruges without the need to walk far. The hotel did not pretend to be something it isn't. It's a nice, family run place that is in the process of changing to make life easier for people with mobility problems. They are planning to put a lift in and make other improvements so that the facilities are easier to access. The location is perfect being just a very short walk from the bell tower in the centre of Bruges. If you want a low-cost break in one of Europe's most beautiful city then the Alegria is the place for you.

    Leaving.

    1) Pillows were not comfortable. 2) No safe. 3) Water in the shower had bad pressure which was very uncomfortable! And the temperature of the water was changing always during the stay in the shower (((

The location of hotel Alegria is excellent and only a 2 minute walk away from the Grote Markt and major historical sights. The hospitality extended by our hostess Veronique during our stay was tremendous, she was extremely friendly and helpful in pointing out various points of interest to visit. Our room overlooking the garden was spacious and bright. It was also nice to have breakfast in the garden surrounded by flowers and plants and really started our day off in a very positive way.

We could only spend 2 days

The location was great, staff were very helpful.

We booked a triple room, and the third bed was very uncomfortable. It's a nice thing to have an accommodation for 3, but it would be nice if the beds were more comfortable. I also prefer a bathtub to just a shower.
