Score from 910 reviews Very good
Excellent Hotel: location, size of the room and very clean. To be honest I was surprised with the quality of the hotel , I expected much less in terms of size and overall standard.
the area and the workers
Location and breakfast
Noisy in the night - we think it was other guests on another floor
reasonable price considering location, interriors are good
location is the only complaint - probably you would prefer to pay more to live close to attractions
The location and price
Old style hotel no body help you to take your lagge and bags
Convenient location (train station, old town, shopping streets in walkable distance; for longer distances there is a good and cheap city bike rental system "Velo", with several automated rental stands close to the hotel). The room is kept clean and has been renovated (bathroom still has 1970's elements, but overall good renovation). We didn't try the breakfast (there are many options in walkable distance).
There was a strong sewer smell in the room, which never fully disappeared during our stay, despite keeping the window open. Keeping the window open in this room on the street side wasn't very nice as some mornings the garbage truck stands there for some time, with car fumes instead of fresh air entering the room. The corridors look quite a step back in time. Internet - works well and is included in the price, but you've to ask for a log in for each day/device. Overall, we stayed there cause the reviews of the hotel were good and there was an offer, but in hindsight because of the room smell, we probably would have stayed somewhere else, also for a higher price.
Right in the center of Antwerp. Parking is just under the hotel. Nice breakfast (a lot of fruits)
There was no free WiFi - booking.com must change this info. You must pay for it. It was very important for us, I expected to work there. When we arrived, the room was not cleaned completely. There were empty bottles in the basket and on the table. Matrass on the double bed consits of 2 small matrasses.
Location Availability of car parking adjacent to hotel Staff Rooms clean and fresh Price
I couldn't fault the hotel for value. It served my purpose very well.
Employees were nice, bed comfortable, clean, nice bathroom (maybe not 4 star level depending on what you're used too). Close to shopping. Check out the little cafe (towards giant staircase, first one to the left ) had the friendliest staff ever, delicious bagels and cake
Sort of a long walk to the old town.
Staff were very helpful, parking is good close to the hotel. It has an excellent location for eating out and for seeing the city. Minutes from the main shopping centre. Terrific transport links. Breakfast was good and well organised. A very pleasant location and the facilities including Wifi were very good value for money.
The one way system makes it difficult to locate by car and parking on Sundays is an issue. We were not there then however
parking not included
Good breakfast, great location
Hotel lobby and hallways are smelly, narrow and old-fashioned. Staff wasn't very friendly Rooms look better though
The location and the staff were very pleasant. breakfast ok
Paying for the internet - these days wi fi should be free or included in room price. Everything was very dated. Had to wait 20 minutes to be able to remove our car from front of hotel.Another guest had parked in front of us and didn't turn up for 20 minutes to remove his car. There is an annoying little barrier we didn't want to drive our low car over to get out.
good location, look`s good
The hotel is located in a very nice area, modern but full of classy stores, and a short walking distance from the cathedral. The room is enormous and nice, very bussiness-like. The staff is also very helpful.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Very well maintained, excellent buffet and its staff; good location to Ruben's house on quiet street
reception staff not too friendly; not great value for room size
Good location, in a walking distance from city center. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. There is a public parking next to the hotel.
Hotel is right in the city, with fantastic breakfasts and some very modern rooms
Some rooms are not air conditioned, and the rooms on the front of the hotel are very noisy with street sounds especially on market days
Hotel in need of some TLC, not really what I expected from the reviews. Clean but somewhat dated. Not centrally located.
Squashed mosquitos all over the walls of the bedroom. Staff indifferent.
one free wifi code per room and it functioned for one phone per connection.
We liked the location, cleanliness and friendly reception and cleaning staff. We were pleased that health and safety has not gone mad in your hotel as It often does in the u.k. And as such we slept with our window wide open which was a treat. Your co-operation with the arenberg car park was well organised too. And made arriving by car easy.
We were surprised that in this day and age WIFI is not freely available. 10 euro per hour how do you attract business people? In the u.k. Every hotel, public buildings including airports have free WIFI. For all. As to the room some details in the room were a little disappointing: a cheap BIC pen was provided which I have never seen anywhere before and with the tea set there was a plastic spoon which instantly melted in my cup of tea. As a result I burned my fingers trying to get it out. The shower screen did not do the job and embarrassingly flooded the bathroom. the bathroon bin did not open with the pedal. Further more at breakfast, being a vegan there were no options at all but fruit. The fruit was lovely eventhough a little underripe. How about supplying sunflower margarine or oil and perhaps some fresh cucumber and tomatoes. When I asked for a bit of cucumber the prompt answer was 'there are some sour gurkins' It was good that there was a fresh market going on so I could get some fresh food to go with my toast. The hotel is lovely but these are minor improvements that could make it fabulous. I would happily pay a little more money and be able to work on the computer and eat a healthy wholesome breakfast so I can get on with the day. Also perhaps there could be a little more light in the room.
