Score from 565 reviews Wonderful
The whole of lepers was very good the food excellent and plenty of good drink
Very matter of fact staff (not one smile from the 2 staff we saw).Very little natural light in rooms, bath very high difficult access, no movement on check-in time, beds looked like they were for children, all in all quite poor
This hotel is ideally located catering to a captive audience in Ieper visiting Belgium to honour the war dead of WWI. The breakfast was basic but well presented. Would have preferred fresh fruit and healthier choices than croissants and pastries. The soap was replenished daily.
Despite exorbitant prices (twice as much online than posted outside the hotel), the hotel offers minimal amenities and certainly no creature comforts. There are no in-room niceties like tea/coffee, or cable tv. Décor is dated and youth hostel-like. Bedding and towels were not changed during the 3 days that we stayed. Avoid room 5 at all costs as it is directly over the front door. Every word on the street can be heard as well as from adjacent rooms. There is no overnight staff on site. Access after ten is by key access pad. Late arriving visitors bang on the door or call up to windows to gain access. The female concierge is loud and pushy and when I asked her why there was such a difference in what we paid for our room and what was posted outside she became confrontational. We had started our journey in London and paid half the price of the Alliance Hotel Ieper Centrum for twice the hotel at Piccadilly Circus and we expected much much more than what we got.
Conveniently placed in the town centre but in a quiet side street.Nicely presented stanurodard E breakfasts
Helpfull staff in the most
Bartender surly and lazy
60 second walk to centre lovely marble ect in public areas staff good room warm and functional wi fi free good value free parking 25 minutes away free parking from 6 pm sat till 6 am monday right outside
for the money we paid there is nothing not to like
Fantastic location. Comfy beds.
Very steep staircase to the top story rooms.
location and helpfulness of Veronique
The fact that they will not accept AMEX and debited my Visa in advance. In my room the heating was shut(this is mid Nov.), and when turned on DID NOT WORK. I had to protest 3 times before Veronique brought me a small heater , without which it would have been impossible to sleep.there is NO heating in the bathroom. The emergency exit for the whole floor was via a window in my room which i was unable to open fully.
located near to Menim Gate, town square and museum
Nice and clean, if a bit spartan
4pm check-in. Seemed a bit mean-spirited.
Very good B&B, Great location, great breakfast in the morning, clean rooms and common areas. staff vey helpful.
Parking was a matter of walking 5 blocks to a place outside of the city. it should have been advertised this way rather than just "free" parking.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast. Good location for the Menin Gate.
No tea and coffee making facilities. The floor, especially under the bed was filthy. There was an old nylon sock under the bed and an old used tissue amongst the dust and fluff. We wanted a drink in the bar and it was closed at 9pm whilst we sat there.
Great location, good size room.
Pillows not gr8
Great location , fine breakfast very good value
Rooms were very dated .. room 1 was a bit claustrophobic….also don't thinks the keys should be left in the lobby!
Comfy bed, clean room. Great breakfast in a very nice room
The pillows were too big and firm
Excellent location, pleasant staff.
Dangerous staircases and no room to enter or exit small room without perching on steps. Uncomfortable bed and lumpy pillow. May suit younger clients better.
staff very informative and extremely helpful. good continental breakfast
bed could have been more comfortable
Location Continental Breakfast Friendly Staff Very ordinary hotel, functional
The three of us being flea bitten from the beds overnight! Very red, very itchy - not a good look!
Quiet location despite proximity to town centre. Ideal location for town centre and Menin Gate and other attractions.
Lack of parking space at the hotel. On street parking only
Location very convenient to visit the main square
Parking difficult, especially on arrival. Free parking some distance away
Breakfast always good at this hotel good selection and plenty of it,free internet access, shower hot and powerful. clean establishment. Location just off Main Square short walk to the Menem Gate, I recommend you park up the other side of the Menem gate and walk over footbridge and take luggage with you to the Hotel, poor parking within City other than pay and display which was full anyway.
My room was on the 2nd floor and a bit awkward carrying your suitcase up 2 flights of stairs the 2nd of which is narrow and steep also the bedroom I was in, the door opened onto the stairs making access difficult, the lights on the stairs don't stay on for long either and the 2nd stairwell is dark, recommend anyone with mobility issues stays on the ground floor extension where I have stayed before, better rooms and easy access
A very genuine and welcoming lady on reception gave us guidance to locate the covered parking for our bikes and advised on positioning to allow full access to all vehicles.
Everything was fine for us. Thank you.
It was right in the centre of Ypres
The door was locked at 10:00pm
