The owner and staff were very welcoming, friendly and willing to offer all assistance. The room, although small, was comfortable and en-suite with shower, toiletries, hairdryer. Free Wi-Fi throughout hotel including bedroom. Excellent breakfast - hot meal cooked to order. Free hot drink machine in reception. Situated very close to city centre and walking distance to all sights including Menin Gate. Would recommend.
No problem with myself, but there is no lift, but there are ground floor bedrooms.
Location Excellent free coffee Informative owner
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and lovely breakfast.
Great breakfast & friendly staff 10/10 Good location
Friendly, helpful reception, excellent breakfast, nice decor, comfortable room, easy walk to main square and Menin Gate.
Noisy late night guests, no fault of the hotel.
My third or fourth visit to this splendid establishment. The facilities are outstanding for 2* hotel and the breakfasts, cooked for you on the spot, remain memorable. The owner has put an enormous effort into building up the Ambrosia's reputation and is clearly and justifiably proud of his achievement.
Vincent the owner was very helpful and cooks a fantastic breakfast. Will defiantly stay again, location was excellent also.
A lovely hotel in a quiet location, very comfortable, easy to find and park near. All of the staff were lovely, and so helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend it to everyone.

The narrow stairs and street parking
Good location, close but not too close to centre. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Great staff, location, cleanliness. First Class visit. I`ll be back I`m sure.
The only minor niggle is no kettle etc. in the room. There are facilities in the lobby though, so very minor!
Location Staff are fantastic Room clean
We loved the well-appointed Ambrosia hotel. Our family group occupied 4 rooms, each of which were beautifully decorated and comfortable. The freshly cooked breakfasts were a bonus and set us up for our day trip to the WW1 cemetry and neighbouring museums. We had a memorable trip and would definitely return to the Ambrosia Hotel when we visit Ypres again.
We found nothing to dislike about the Ambrosia.
Very welcoming owner who took the time to tell us about the area and recommend attractions based on the length of our stay. The hotel is very well located, a 5 minutes walk from the centre square and the Menin Gate. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and there was also plenty of pastries, fruit and cereal. The vending machine with beer and wine was a nice touch, as were the glasses and bottle opener.
The room for four was rather small and compared to a purpose built hotel, not particularly well designed for more than one night. The shower room was very small too. The door to the room opened directly onto the winding stairway serving four or five rooms so we could hear people walking up and downstairs. We could also hear people moving around above us in the morning. Although I have stated these points as negatives, they are only to be expected in an old building converted to a B&B and would not be a problem for one or two nights. I would think hard about staying for more than this with a young family.
Having stayed in July 2014 I found this great little hotel in a wonderful location. The lass on reception and who also cooked my breakfast the next morning was just terrific. A wonderful introduction to the hotel. The room was fine for a solo traveller and overlooked a quaint little road that although so close to the town square was very quiet. The bathroom and the room itself was very clean and had everything I required. The free coffee was most appreciated after a day of touring. Everything was positive about this little gem of a hotel. Nothing
Not one complaint.
