Very friendly owners and staff. Clean and comfortable bedrooms. Delicious food in hotel restaurant.

The cost of breakfast per person was rather high.

Great choice at breakfast time. Nice clean spacious room, the writing desk in our room was a nice touch. Super bar area selling a good choice of beers. Hassle free wifi connection, great!

No tea making facilities in the room however there was an honesty bar on our floor. Laminate floors mean that any one moving around needs to be aware of the noise they are making.

The individuality of the place and the lack of need to find a member of the friendly staff as everything was perfect.

Sadly the bar/restaurant closes Tuesdays and Wednesdays, We would have liked to enjoy the hospitality further with a meal and a drink, but there a plenty of alternatives nearby.

My Wife, and I. both found the Hotel easily. We found the staff very freindly, and helpfull.We also found the Food, and Service exeptionaly good.We would return there again, and recommend it to any freinds travelling in that area.Mr Peter McLoughlin.

Lack of a lift, to the upstairs rooms. We believe that an extension, with lift, is being added shortly.

No elevator, but this is probably not feasible. Would prefer breakfast to be included in the rate.

This was our second visit to the Hoteo Amfora, and it was as good as we remembered it. The owners and staff are great. They really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The restaurant is really excellent - the best food we had on our trip. The rooms are very nice and the prices are reasonable. My wife and I travel a lot, and this is one of our favorite hotels anywhere.

The staff was wonderful and stayed up very late to accomidate our late arrival. They were warm and welcoming. My entire group wished we could have stayed longer as the hotel was excellant.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food is good and hotel in nice location on the town market square.

Bathroom is beutiful but would have liked a shower above the bath.

Friendly staff, good breakfast en nice room. I didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel because i was mostly outdoors, restaurant looked good but because of the fairly high prices i didn't made us of it.

The staffs stopped working around 22.00 witch wasn't a problem for me because there were plenty of bars around the area but if you like to spend a lot of time at your hotel i can image that this can be a let down.

Hotel is situated in the corner of the historic town of Poperinge. Our room was an apartment and proved to be very comfortable with all the necessary facilities available. Both bedrooms and bathroom were clean and tidy. Hotel staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. Evening meal was delightfull, Really enjoyed our visit. Real value for money and all staff helped make our stay a pleasant one. Would definately visit again.

I loved the ambience, the welcome we received, the decor and the food! We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at the Hotel Amfora and would certainly like to return. Good value for money. Linda Townshend

Just the stairs up to my room but then I am over 70!!!

Breakfasts were very good with fresh fruit, lots of meats and cheeses, cereals and a choice of freshly cooked egg dishes. We also visited the restaurant one night and the food quality and presentation was excellent, as well as being very good value for money. The bar was also very pleasant with all the family being very helpful and making us all feel very much at home. The hotel is right on the town square, where there is pay-parking from 9:00-18:00 each day (first 30 minutes free with ticket) but you can park about 4-500 meters away up a side street for free at all times. There are quite a few restaurants and bars close by, as well as Talbot House and the Hops museum within easy walking distance. A great, friendly and well-run location.

The only slight problem is the lack of a lift. The stairs are quite steep and not very easy for older people. However, as it is an old and characterful building, a lift is not really possible so you just need to be aware of this only downside to a great hotel.

It was really friendly and spotlessly clean. My room was very comfortable. The food was great.

Our room was beautiful. I loved the large, open bathroom and fancy bathtub. The location of the hotel was in a prime spot, with nearby restaurants, pubs, and shops.

We loved everything, except the hard mattresses. It is such a shame because the room was really beautiful but the beds were so very uncomfortable. Luckily we were only there one night because I don't think my back would have survived another night. If they would replace the mattresses then I would definitely recommend to anyone that Hotel Amfora is an excellent place to stay.

This is a family-run business run by Dominique, Nancy, Glenn and Ellen. Dominique is the chef and cooked the best scrambled egg I have ever had, part of an excellent breakfast. Son Glenn personally came with me to help me get my car from a nearby car park and navigated through the town's one-way systems in order to park right in front of the hotel, which is situated right in the heart of Poperinge, a small town well worth a visit. English is spoken at the hotel, as well as French and Dutch. Excellent location for visiting WW1 battlefield sites. Wished I'd booked a few nights at this Hotel instead of only one.

We had a very good night here as we were driving through to Germany, but wanted to visit the New War Cemerty in the town as my Great Uncle is buried there, also visited Ypres and the 8 o Clock Last post at The Menin Gate.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I forgot to include my children on the reservation, so were not expecting 4 of us. Although it was no problem for the proprietor. He immediately changed our room to a larger one that would comfortably fit all of us. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect. Price was the best anywhere in the region. Room was gorgeous! Very elegant and welcoming. Definitely staying here again next time we come through. Thank you!

Walls were a little thin and we could hear our neighbor's kids jumping around and playing. As I'm sure they could hear our kids. Not a deal- breaker, but we certainly had to try and step quietly while moving around or coming and going.
