smoke free room smelled badly to cigarettes, there was no warm water to take a shower. Poor breakfast, lady who served breakfast was not at all friendly. We couldn't tell about the smoking at the moment, I have sent a mail the day itself and got a very non client friendly response: "smoking smell is not a health issue and you must have used the shower wrong..." I wouldn't advice anyone to go there.
The location in the centre
No parking included
The breakfast was varied and delicious.
The room was furnished with awful stuffs and looked too old.
Helpful staff; excellent location.
Photos are overly photoshopped, in reality hotel is not nearly as glamorous as it looks on photos. When we opened the window, we felt the somewhat foul smell outside. There was no omelette or something like this for breakfast.
Hotel looked nice inside, shame we was not staying inside the hotel. Breakfast was okay.
As soon as we arrived i was told that we had the family room situated in a building outside the hotel. No wifi,Dangerous steep stairway,Shower temerature control not working,Broken shower cabinet,Beds fold up very small and uncomfortable,This was not suitable as a family room.
Good price-performance-ratio, nice and helpfull stuff, big rooms, very good location.
If you are unlucky and have loud neighbors, you might not get too much sleep, because the walls are very thin. The Breakfast room is a little small and the breakfast could be better.
the rooms were really big with a great view! comfy beds.
no air conditioning!! and you couldn't get water all the time. It can get noisy sometimes at night
This was our third stay in Antigone hotel, by coincidence, every time in the same room. We liked the staff, the overall appearance of the hotel, the breakfast.
As i mentioned, we stayed three times in the same room, and this gave us the possibility to see the hotel's evolution in time. Sadly, it is a devolution. First time we stayed, we complained about the water heater that emitted very disturbing noise when we showered. Second time the water heater was just as noisy, but also the window was not closing well. Somebody came, looked at the windows and left, even though there was a strong cold wind that blew in through the window crack that could not be closed, and the small heater that the staff brought us (oh, I forgot to mention that the room heater wasn't working?) was just not enough to keep the room warm with all the cold air constantly blowing in. The third time we stayed, last week, the water heater was not only emitting the disturbing noise, but also gave only either boiling hot or totally cold water in the sink faucet, with a little more flexibility for the shower (still couldn't set a temperature below 38 degrees), but still with unpleasant surprises (warm water turning cold for 30 seconds every 2-minutes). Window still not fixed, fortunately no cold windows this time. On the contrary, very high temperatures and no air conditioning in the room, which meant the temperatures inside reached uninhabitable highs, we had to go out in the evening just to get away from the heat. The only possibility to sleep was with the window open, which was not really an option with the constant traffic... To top it all, the safe in the room was not working, and when we complained to somebody from the staff about it he reacted like it was normal "we have a big safe here, bring your valuables to me". Conclusion: really liked this hotel in the beginning, but now it really disappointed us. We need to find another place to stay in Antwerp for our next trips.
1) Great Location 2) Friendly staff 3) Good breakfast
1) Internet conection disconnects after a while and you must keep reconnecting. Also it is very week on the third floor. Not good enough for Skype or Viber. 2) It's an old building with lots of stairs and only one slow elevator. Not recommended for people with mobility problems.
The staff was very cordial and friendly, very warm. The place had a comfortable homely feeling. There was a generous helping of tea and coffee available in the rooms.
Nothing in particular that we didn't like except that I had to carry the ironing board and the iron myself up from the ground floor. The room phone didn't have any indication on the numbers to the reception or room service. Maybe it was just our room.
The excellent location, beautiful views of the river, good size family room and lovely bathroom. The hotel is directly opposite a big carpark and just a few minutes walk from the main square. Breakfast was served in a bright sunny room with plenty of choice. We stayed in a family room (4 persons) and the room was spacious and well equipped. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Location is Nice, staff really cooperative and accessible!!!!
Good location, next to the water and very close to the center. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was also very nice, really spacious with a big double-bed and a bathtub in the bathroom. Also we didn't have to pay extra for breakfast, that's always nice :)
Nothing really, except we thought the boiled eggs in the breakfast were a bit undercooked, but maybe that's just how they eat their eggs there
steep stairs in the room make access to the room difficult
Hotel location Big spacious rooms Breakfast included in the daily rate
Parking in the area (like in the whole city).
Simple and friendly. Tea and coffee making facilities particularly appreciated.
Some hooks in the bathroom would be useful!
We came by car and had a separate studio for 4 people (max 5 possible, but with double beds), which was very nice and had a nice kitchen (did not use this, so cannot judge this). Location is great for going out in the city centre with good parking options (free parking at a 2-3 minutes walk) Breakfast was simple but good!
No disappointments; was all good!
Nobody at reception before 7am.
The location was near our festivity.
Compare to the quality the price is too high.
Very nice design of the lobby, a cosy breakfast room, comfortable room.
Tiny and annoyingly slow elevator.
This is our second stay in Antigone hotel and we like it. We like very much the location of the hotel and teh value for money. Great new lamps in room number 4, where we stayed also last time. Satff is very friendly and tried to make our stay as confortable as possible.
The water heater in the bathroom is very noisy and the water temperature is not constant. The internet is free but is keep disconecting every several hours or so. It will be great if hot food (like omlete) would be available at breakfast.
Helpful staff. Comfortable room. Adequate breakfast. Centrally located.
No parking at hotel and closest parking was EUR25 a day. Bathroom had bit of a musty smell.
The room window opened on a fire exit stair, no fresh air at all
The location, the reasonable price, breakfast included
Room 3 a bit noisy, no window on the outside, checkout time not late enough for a sunday (11 am)
