Aris Grand Place Hotel  

Not many things, I am afraid much less good than when we came last year for the first time

I had booked rooms for nine people in January 2011.All but one of the rooms as expected. However the room allocated to Mrs Monica Chalmers, was oof a totally unacceptable level. Too small and airless and no light. Her protest was not taken seriously by the two male receptionist on the day of our arrival. When I found out how unhappy she was, my complaint was also ignored, reason being no manager on hand. Mrs Chalmers deserves a reduction. Please respond to me and the letter I tried to send to you. You may contact me, please do so urgently. As I may have to take this matter up with the Tourist Board/ Authorities and make an official complaint. Werner Guttmann

Very near to the center.

Very poor breakfast for 12E - only sausages. Not very nice guy on the reception. The original price of the room should be 240E which made me laugh (booking price was 99E w/o breakfast).

Great location and had a view from our room to overlook the plaza. Very cool. The staff had good recommendations for things to do.

The beds had a weird stiffness to them. It was no big deal to us, but was a little strange. The room was great, however. No complaints.

I have chosen this hotel as it is situated very near to the Grand Place, to the centre of the city. It is a clean nice hotel, I can recommend to my friends and when I return to Brussels i shall chose it again.

Centrally located and important places are within walking distance range. City trips are arranged from this place. Rooms are very neat & clean and comfortable to stay. Various hotels are situated nearby for good choice of taste.

It was more noisy during night because of many tourists on road. Also there were few items for breakfast

The man at the front desk was very helpful when I asked for directions. The location of the hotel was absolutely what I was seeking. The hotel provided me a place to base and to sleep; that is all I needed. The price was appropriate. Plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower.

My tv didn't work and I couldn't get a cup of coffee in the morning without buying the 12 euro breakfast.

- No mention of city taxes (~4.5€ per night) in booking.com - no breakfast included - no free internet

-Exellent location (5 min from central sration and center of the city) -clear and simple (no paphos) -good according criteria "price+quality"

-Some rooms look at the walls of nearest houses,the distanse less than 3-5m.I Had to change the room -there is no bar and free internet -the main-heating in not central,by conditioner.In the end of december it was not warm, not convinience .When the guest outside personal switch off conditioner and open the window. I had to ask to staff do not to do it(december!).They said that it is according instruction,but agreed - sometimes it was loudly in the hotel and streets

Location perfect for seeing the sights. Only a block or two from Central Station (easy walking distance). Around the corner from the Grand Place. Because we were there at Christmas, we practically had the whole hotel to ourselves!

The hotel is located in between the Central station and Grand Place, so it's very convenient both for a stroll in the city center and to catch metro/rail connections to everywhere. The room (I was given a double for single use) was comfortable and clean. All in all, notwithstanding some problems, it's an excellent choice when it's steeply discounted.

Some details of the room needed renovation (the bed covers showed their respectable age, the windows were not good at keeping street noises out - and there were some, given the position nearby many touristic restaurants). The wireless connection to the Internet was a joke. I paid (luckily for a very short time) and then I had to resort to my cellphone modem because the hotel connection was utterly unstable. It is provided by a third party, so it's not directly the hotel's fault, yet the staff was not very interested in my complaints.

The location to the Grand Place and Manneken Pis was excellent.

Room needs to be updated. Bedding etc was outdated.
