Hotel Kasteelhof 'T Hooghe, hotel in Ieper

Kasteelhof 'T Hooghe is located in a historical setting in 't Hooghe, on the Ieper-Menen Road. It features an on-site restaurant and a bar. Guests benefit from on-site private parking free of charge.

We stayed in the new building and it was a nice room very clean. Due to the fact that we were early in the season we couldn’t use the terras and all the other facilities. It is nice however that they take care over the Hooghe Krater which is a remnant of the Great War and you cannot understand the idea that about 100 years ago here men did battle for 4 year over 300 m of frontline.

Ieper holds a horrendous history when it comes down to the tragic loss of life. But on the other hand it has a sense of peace when you walk around. The battles took place 108 years ago, so its good that there are still preserved sites to visit that this is never forgotten.

Ypres is a wonderful experience. Visit Menin Gate at 8pm each evening and hear the last post played for the fallen of the Great War. On a Monday most shops and all restaurants and museums are closed.

We've visited Ypres several times before, and it has a wonderful ambiance. Whilst we aren't particularly interested in the war time background of the town, there are plenty of places to visit, and to eat, Parking is relatively easy for the traveller

Location. Street parking just outside for two motorcycles. There is a car park near by but the closer the better when on a motorbike. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable. The coffee machine, biscuit's and fruit bowl were nice little extras, made all the difference to the welcome. Our twin room was spacious enough and the bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was very good with the usual continental meats, cheese, eggs, cereals and more. Easy walking distance to the centre and Menin gate.

The apartment is beautiful, very spacious and comfortable for 4 people, also well equipped for preparing meals when you want a break from eating out. It's a perfect alternative to staying in a hotel, especially for a family. It's ideally situated to explore Ypres on foot but also in a quiet location and there is parking very close by. The hosts Peter & Valery are very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great location. Our room was very small. The toilet didn’t work in the breakfast area and it also would not flush in the second room we had booked. Also when one of our party decided to go back to the hotel right after dinner, his key card didn’t work and there was no one at the front desk. someone let him into his room but the keycard wasn’t reprogrammed. breakfast was good.

Lovely, lovely place in Ypres. Quiet location. Very clean and comfortable. Narrow, steep stairs to the rooms like everywhere. Big and tasty breakfast. Inga was very helpful with parking, she made sure we could leave our car on the street for a few hours after we checked out.
