Hotel Satellite is located in the European District in Brussels, a 10-minute walk from Schuman Train, Bus and Metro Station, from where the city centre can be reached in 15 minutes.
Score from 55 reviews Very good
the personnel is very friendly, the hotel very conviniently and safely located near a tram stop that takes you to the metro line 6 and then to the city center, the room was clean and confortable
that i had no directions of how to reach it the first day and took me ages to find it. for other's information: when you get to the central train station, take the metro line 1 towards Stockel and get off at Arts Loi Kunst Wet. From there get the metro lines 2 or 6 towards Elisabeth and get off at the the end of the line (Elizabeth). From there take the tram no 25 towards Deward and get off after two stops (I think the stop is called Basilique sth). The hotel is diagonically oppositethe tram stop. When you reach it the owners will giveyou a map and explicit info of how to go around.
Wonderful staff/owners. Very quiet loft room sited towards the backyard. Hotel sited almost next to tram/safe walk at night. Close to everything with very frequent tram/metro connections. Beautiful and spacy park and astonishing Elisabeth Cathedral 2 min. across the streek. Liked the old-fashioned dark brown wooden walls in my little loft room.
Not suitable for people who are challenged by walking in stairs
Very friendly staff, who also happen to be the owners.
No English tv Channels in the rooms. Tv sets from the last century. Eur 70.00 is a steep rate for the type of Hotel. Eur 50 to 55 should be the maximum.
The room and bathroom were ok--not great, just ok. No serious complaints. Internet worked better than some higher end places I've been to, but again, not especially great. Staff was nice enough.
The personnel was friendly and very gentle. The place is not the maximum but it is quite and clean.
Building and furniture were old.
There is free parking just in front of the hotel.
The breakfast is not worth of its value at all. You got terrible instant coffee, some toasts, an aldi orange juice and some cheese and jam by spending 7 euro. The hotel is located just close to a Church, but keep in mind not the one in the center of Brussels. Actually, this hotel is not in Brussels at all. It is in another city 5 km away from Brussels.
Decent location, very friendly staff
Had the top room, so lots of stairs to climb. Bathroom facilities were a bit cramped and neighbors were doing scaffolding work and had an open view of me in the bathroom taking a shower.
The location was quite good.
The wifi might as well have not existed as it barely worked and was very slow when it did. I stayed on the top floor and there were over 60 steps up a narrow staircase to get there, not good for taking luggage up at all. The shower you couldn't stand in without hitting your head and the shower nozzle wasn't connected so you had to hold it in one hand in the shower. Everytime you left you had to hand in your room key then get it back when you returned which got very annoying.
Nice room, good service, beautiful park near hotel
Wifi sometimes work, awkward stairs
The staff was great and super friendly, like a family. :) The hotel is cute!
It was forbidden to bring people to your room, even if they stay not for the night. The staff was friendly and made an exception for 5/10 minutes.
Great affordable little Hotel. Close to transport to get you to the city center in 5-10mins or only a 12 euro cab ride away. The staff are very accommodating and very friendly. Very clean and comfy beds. Perfect for a weekend away to explore the city sights!
The hotel is very close to tram station.
Very Helpful staff
No lift and steep stairs
The owner and especially his wife were actually nice people and they apologised for the mix-up.
The BASIC room is actually a very small "mansarde" room in the attic with very low ceiling. I felt like in a cage when I entered the room. There was just a very small window letting in little light. The pictures on booking.com were completely different but the owner refused to change my room to a better one, the one from the pictures and the one I thought I had booked. There was a pervasive smell of Indian food in the whole building. The stairs were incredibly narrow and steep with no lift. I am very fit but nearly stumbled when carrying my suitcase. A person more solidly built would not have managed to go up, it was so narrow. The room was old and derelict. There was no realy wardrobe. It CERTAiNLY did not look like a 2 star hotel. Rather a kind of family inn. The Wi-Fi was very slow in the upper floor.
Public free parking nearby, easy access to public transport and close to a tourist attraction (the big cathedral), hospitable staff.
Shared bathroom on top floor, troubled wifi. Narrow and tiny room for reception desk which also functions as breakfast room. No elevator.
We had amended our booking prior to visit as we required 2 rooms, this was done by telephone but when we arrived the hotel did not have a note of this which was disappointing
Location Staff - they were friendly and quick in fixing a glitch by Booking.com
Booking.com apparently had a glitch and my booking didn't show in the tenant's records
