Martin’s Brugge is just behind the famous 13th-century Belfry and 185 yards from the Grote Markt. It has a terrace and a cocktail bar, and all rooms have a flat-screen TV.
Score from 2012 reviews Very good
Great location, lovely hotel and staff. Highly recommend.
Nice rooms, good wi-fi, nice breakfast. Location was nice, not too far from city centre, not too close to be noisy either. The hotel has a old world charm to it and a personal touch to it.
Mosquitoes, please ask for a plug in. I was annoyed that the lady at the desk didn't tell us that there would be mosquitoes. My baby's face had 14 mosquito bites on it by morning. She wasn't too apologetic about it either. I had a pushchair which I couldn't take to my room because there's no elevator. The stairs are scary to walk down if you're carrying an infant.
The location for everything we wanted to see in bruges was perfect. It was just outside the square where the Belfry is but the price was good compared to the others I looked at. The room was classy and modern but the bathroom is what really set it apart from others - just beautiful. Only saw one member of staff who seemed to run the whole place brilliantly and she was very nice and very helpful - I think her name was Anna or Annie.
The front was more like a shop than a hotel like some of the posher places but once inside we didn't care. Parking was round the corner and very tight as well as being 14 euros a day, then when we moved the car round an other corner on the day we left as we had a late ferry crossing we found it was 8 euros all day there.
very comfortable, feel like home.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfasr. Good size room and bed. Close to town centre but quiet.
Rather gloomy decor with black curtains and bed cover. Bathroom had no provision for hanging towels or place to put toiletries.Although pre-warned stairs to room very steep and narrow.
Great location near the square, private parking available nearby, and helpful owner. A hotel housed in a historical building yet well-renovated, giving a good atmosphere mix of old and modern.
There was no shower curtain so we had to sit in the bathtub while showering to avoid spilling the water. A difficult walk up the spiral stairway with heavy luggages.
This is probably the best all round hotel I've stayed in. Very comfortable and spacious room with a huge shower/toilet room. Spotlessly clean, warm and quiet. Location is great - two minute walk to the market square and lots of shops and resturants. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Oh, and breakfast is served at a civilised time and has everything you could possibly want.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff in interesting old building upgraded to modern standards.
Location, staff, breakfast, room, bathroom were all fantastic.
Stairs that had to be climbed to room. This is not a hotel for people who are elderly or require a elevator. If you are one of these people request a room on the first floor. Stairs are really steep and there are a lot of them.
Very old quirky hotel. Very warm fresh and clean, the staff were very friendly. Fantastic breakfast - eggs cooked to order. Would definately recommend.
Hotel Boterhuis more than met our needs and the room was exquisite. Really friendly staff, and a great selection at breakfast. Just a short walk from the Market but on a quiet street. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend to others. Thank you to our hosts for such a great stay!
Easy to find and very close to the main square. Friendly staff and everywhere was clean. Nice bathroom. Our room was cleaned and we got fresh towels every day. Good selection at breakfast. Pets welcome.
Our room was right next to the stairs so it was quite noisy with the hard floors. We got badly bitten by mosquito's in the room so make sure the window is kept closed. No view which was a shame.
Great service Clean rooms Loved the set up Good breakfast Smiles all around!
Location and friendly stall
Access to top room
We found the hotel in an excellent location, room was clean bright and comfortable, breakfast was excellent
Nothing to dislike
Location, staff, room
breakfast and service was very good
needs to be renovated
breakfast very good
tv channel options were very very poor
The room was beautiful and just like staying in a painting of the Old Masters but with top class facilities. Loved it.
Furnishing super. Air con adjustable. Bathroom excellent. Breakfast very good. Staff exceeding helpful and very pleasant and inconspicuos.
The hotel was located close to the city center. We had a very large family room. The breakfast was great, and they catered to my gluten free needs (I mentioned it on the booking form).
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Comfy bed.
No soapdish in bathroom.
Location was perfectly situated, a 5 minute's walk from the main square, with plentiful cafes and restaurants just steps outside your door; breakfast was a nice continental spread, with a choice of made-to-order eggs; there were two floors in which to have your breakfast; the bottom breakfast floor was very cosy, almost cave-like. We found the proprietors very friendly and accommodating; wi fi was excellent on our Apple devices. We had a quiet room with nice wooden floors and a very comfortable bed, and best of all, the cost was an excellent value. Would definitely stay there again.
Nothing. Just want to point out that if you have mobility issues, ask for a room on the bottom (street level) floor - NOT the first floor, as the first floor is really the second floor (by U.S. standards). There is no elevator, and the stairs are steep, narrow and winding. Not a problem for us, but it would be a problem for people who do have issues.
very good breakfast bed very comfortable tv good quality decor modern
Staff, decor, food (breakfast), local knowledge, peace & quiet, comfortable bed, large rooms
