Hotel A La Grande Cloche is in a 19th-century building on Place Rouppe, 270 yards from Anneessens Metro Station. It features a 24-hour front desk and rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 878 reviews Very good
It was too noisy at night and the internet was not very good
Breakfast pretty minimal. Location is way outside city.
As a typical youth hostel, it has quite nice atmosphere. It was silence enough at night. Beds are comfortable. Peaople who are working there are very good-humored. Also cleaner than I expected from a hostel.
Sheets are old (but clean). There are not enough alternatives for breakfast.
the position. It was very clean and full of young people.
not many hairdryers...
near to metro, small bar
no wifi, showerroom is worst, no towel, no reception after 12~1am
The Hostel was at a walking distance from a Metro Station. Nice bar and social area
Wi Fi on rooms. Showers and Bathrooms are not as comfortable as the rest of the hostel.
I took the bed in general room for women. It was in another building and very close to road. That's why it was very noisy. The room was clean, the bed cloth too. But for towels you must ask and pay 1 euro.
Only about a block away from the metro station, with places to eat all over. Also, the bar/common area was very fun
Bathroom and showers were gross, reminded me of a port-o-potty. Also, no air conditioning.
Nice staff, nice breakfast, a cool common room where they serve several special beers. I would come back.
Showers could have been a bit cleaner
Good, clean backpacker hostel, you get to meet a lot of people in the lounge area. Very organized. One small detail: in the reception area on the walls are posted answers for FAQ, like where can I get a quick bite, where is the nearest supermarket, how can I get the train to liege etc.
The room and sharing toilets are quite clean and the people who sharing the room with me are nice. The building for female is another building on the next street, but it is not far from the main building. Common room is nice and there are also a sweet small yard. I love the location so much that it's near the metro station and a big garden in front of the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Koekelberg. Both the night view and day view are beautiful.
everything is fine.
Nice room, comfortable bed. The location is okay, about 7 minutes to the metro and bus station, quiet zone
Bathroom and shower should have more light. Doesn't have soap tray inside the tower room so I've to put it and the shampoo on the floor
Comfortable and well kept facilities with a good atmosphere. Polite and helpful staff.
Not as close to the centre as led to believe.
The hostel was in a close enough location and the all of the staff were extremely friendly. The sheets were clean and the rooms were quaint and nice. The common room was fun!
The shower was "eco," so you had to push the button every 30 seconds or so. The hostel itself wasn't extremely clean.
It is cheap, bathrooms clean, Sheeets changed daily along with the room being cleaned (like a hotel). WiFi in the rooms! Very freindly staff. A room where luggage can be left before and after checkout (which is electronically locked, like a bank vault, and has cameras inside)
Breakfast was poor. Few options and those provided weren't good. Not visible from any main road and not easy to find. Not enough plug points per room: in a 6 bed room 3 points (one used by a lamp). Noise. Can be loud even though there are rules which state a quite period at the hostel, people don't adhere to this and the hostel does not seem to enforce it. Close to a metro so many shady characters hang about with noise around the place.
The hostel is pretty cozy and the staff was really helpful. The whole hostel is well cleaned. There is a cool pub at the hostel.
Kinda far from the city center but it can be reached easily since there are 2 metro lines nearby the hostel.
I like the kitchen, which made me feel like at home! And the bath is big enough~
When I was there, I lived in the down side of beds, it was a little bit noisy when someone moving. Because of the bed frame made by iron.
Metro stop is right next to the hostel Location was pretty good, 25 min walk to the centre of brussells or catch the train in takes about 5-10 min Breakfast was from 7.30-11.30. Bread, toast, cereal, juice Wifi worked pretty well & they had computers to use free of charge They had maps of the city available There is a laundry place around the corner from the hostel
Beds were very well used, could feel the metal supports underneath.
Staffs were excellent. Specially Katalina was really helpful.
Location was bit further from the centre but it is close to the metro. Can not complain
Totally the hostel is good, the bedroom is clean and comfortable, the common area is good, with projector live telecasting word cup matches.
The location is not in the center of Brussels.
Great atmosphere. Kitchen available to cook your own meals.
The owner was friendly and helpful
I loved this hostel. Even though the Lady Dorms are not in the mainbuilding but in a second one across the corner the building hat everything on its own (and is much more quit than the mainbuilding I guess). There was a small kitchen with a huge table, enough restrooms and showers; The bed was very comfortable and every bed has its own socket. In the sleepingroom there has also been enough space. The facilities and the rooms have all been cleany. The location is perfect, there are 2 metrostations like 1 minute distant to the hostel and every few minutes a metro arrives. There are cheap restaurants and bars and a supermarket availabe.
*There wasn't much oppurtinity at breakfast. Some cheese or sth like that is missing, there hasn't been free coffee (only tea) etc... *Some of the staff couldn't even speak a little English, even though they have all been friendly and helpful.
The hostel is just next to the subway; rooms have keys; Sir who served breakfast was very nice.
Dirty bathrooms; reception staff not unfriendly.
The stuff was extremly helpful and welcoming! Great bar with a good selection of beer. Although it is not a central location, metro/tram/bus stops are very close, some supermarkets and bars are just around a corner. All in all, it was a pleasant stay!
The rooms were quite small and 4 bed dorms only had one plug in a room which is not enough for 4 people (of course it is possible to use the plugs in a common area, however I would prefer to charge my phone in a room while sleeping). Could be cleaner, but in general it was ok.
