Best Western Hotel Chamade    

Managing to book a room late in the evening, arriving after 11pm. I was able to Access the hotel via a side door. It was well organised and very comfortable, ideal for me as a stop over on a long drive across europe.

Nothing at all to dislike.

Breakfast, room were good.

The weather was very cold, room has no heating.

The location is perfect! The train station is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. In front of the hotel there is a tram station, so you can easily reach the city center, without spending money on the taxi. The room was quiet specious and cosy. Good value for money!

We heard that some girls were complaining about breakfast in the hotel. Nothing special, but for 2-3 days to stay it was normal!

Silence in the room while in th emiddel of a city

Bathroom not clean. Under the sink, the pipes were visible, as the wall was opened to repair something.

We had booked a double room. We went up to the room to find it was a twin room. We went back to the desk shortly after, but were told too late should have told them earlier. Having booked a double why put us to a twin in the first place. Said now they have to clean it so cant give another room --- what about us having paid ??. also the next room , a double was available. We were put into it next day. The desk refused to give an extra duvet or blanket so that we could effectively make it as a double bed. Said did not have any. Most surprising -- best western does not have extra bedding. We were treated shabilly and not according to our booking. Last we stayed in best western in Orlando. We will not stay in any best western again anywhere.

Location, ease of parking, staff, comfy bed, breakfast!

Our room had a distinct smell of drains, and the temperature was very difficult to control (end of March, external temp around zero).

Overpriced for what's on offer. Drainage issues on both my stays. Dirty water kept coming back up. Disgusting!

Fantastically positioned for t'Kuipke velodrome! Good breakfast, friendly, quiet and straightforward.

Our double room actually had two singles pushed together, which moved apart at the slightest provocation. The covers were a bit small too! Having said that the beds themselves were very comfortable.

Room could have been cleaner.

Breakfast was very good, very close to the main railway station, many bars, beautiful park (citadel) and great ice cream place near the hotel. App. 15-20 minutes to the old town (walking distance).

No air-conditioner, so it was a bit hot. We would probably expect more for that price, but on the other side all hotels in Gent are expencive.

Everything! The receptionist on arrival was very nice and polite, however a different receptinist on check out in the morning was so rude! I tendreed a credit card at 7.30am as we were on our way to get the ferry from Dunkirk..in a hurry. She couldn't get the card machine to work and accused me is a very kurt manner that there was a problem with my card, she gave it back to me and told me I had to go to a bank & pay by cash. I told her I had no cash and that there was nothing wrong with my cfredit card try again..she did, but would not accept that it was the terminal, shE said; I prove to you it is your card' and proceeded to use her own card...which also didn't work!!! Ha ha ha! Oh! She said, I have to do it manually.. There was no apology for her rudeness and accusations! Also parking for motor bike at 12 euro!. There was no air con in the rooms, and the mattress was so soft that we had to cling on to it all night to stay on the bed, in fear of rolling off!

A very nice hotel, excellent location close to the railway station and within walking distance to the city centre and all the sights; friendly staff; the triple room is very comfortable and spacious enough.

..Very close to station, helpful staff (happy for us to pick up early breakfast items as moving on before official breakfast time), tram stop right outside hotel, tickets available at reception, map of Ghent available at reception, use tram into centre of town...bit of a walk (20 mins) otherwise, tickets only 1.20e, comfortable, spacious & clean room, big double bed, tea/coffee making facility, lovely ice cream kiosk next door, 10 min walk to St Pietres Square if attending concert there.

Great Location, Friendly Staff, Free Internet, Safe

The location of the hotel allowed us to go to the city centre by walk and to discover another part of Ghent we did not know (it was our second stay, but last time we stay in a hotel very close to the town centre). The staff were very friendly and recommended some restaurants close to the hotel for our evening meal.

The car park. To access or to go out from the car park is a bit tricky (very steep)

Verry good middle class hotel. Perfect walking distance for cite centre. But there is also the possibility to take the tram. Room 107 is at the street side that you can notice if it is in the time of he gentse feesten. Good breakfast / - area.

Good value for money. Location near railway station very good, as we travelled by train and were able to easily walk there.

the room was very stuffy with no fan.the windows were okay but still very overpowering to stay in the room for long.

1. Drainage does not work well in wash-basin. 2. When showering, water run off on floor.

Friendly and attentive staff for the most part

Some staff need training when serving drinks at the bar - the bar lights should be on during opening hours to attract custom

Bed was comfortable and distance to town was not too far Staff were okay and friendly

No disable facilities, which we asked for when we booked (but we managed to get by as it was only 1 night stay) Hotel was scruffy, could do with renovation. Our room was scruffy as well. There was A/C unit in room but was too noisy to use.. Only cold breakfast, nothing cooked (but what was there was okay)

short distance from railway station and tramway at front door so ideal for our purpose. Accomodating in that we were able to store our luggage after we checked out

Not a very bright and interesting place. It was a bit dark and dingy and carpet in the room very badly stained. Shower facility in the bath not best for our needs, no bath mat so unsafe. Breakfast was adequate and tasty enough but no great choice
