Best Western Hotel ChamadeKoningin Elisabethlaan 3, 9000 Ghent (Show map) Good, Score from 338 reviews“Very welcoming and helpful staff. Right next to the Tram stop for easy access into the city centre. Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. I would stay there again.”

Worthing
Situated in the residential area of Ghent, the hotel benefits from a quiet location with St. Pieters train station and the historic center of town within walking distance. With an ideal central location, and excellent access to public transportation, the hotel is the ideal base for both business travelers and tourists; you can explore the cultural sights of Ghent and the surrounding area, or use the hotel's business facilities. The friendly staff are happy to help with any request you may have. Each room is fully equipped with a private bathroom, TV, telephone and minibar. Hotel Rooms: 45, Hotel Chain: Best Western.

The hotel is near the station and from that point of view is well located. However, it is a long way from the old town and centre of town. The walk is Ok during the day but part of the way is not too nice later on. Ghent's station is not in the centre. Not too many eating options available locally during the evening. Having said that if you need to stay somewhere and get into Brussels by train easily for part of the stay then it is ideal. Staff friendly and helpful. They could offer free bicycles for you to get around more easily.

Good location, good size of the room and facility. very nice breakfast on the top floor to have a nice view to the city and the stuff at the breakfast room is very friendly and polite. They gave us the room as we required when we book it, so it's very nice. that means they pay attention to the customers. very appreciated. Cold room and noisy airco for the heat. room is very nice and quiet with nice light in the morning but the bad isolation from the corridor won't avoid the noisy neighbors next door to keep quiet. this should be improved. The stuff at the reception is like a robot and emotionless. fair price with good breakfast but like to have choice for cheaper price without breakfast as option for backpackers.

English speaking reception and helpful staff. Clean room and fairly roomy but my room was next to lift and this caused some disturbance to the nights rest.

The Breakfast was quite good and plenty to choose from. We did not like our first room 506 the shower flooded the floor when it was used. The room was not up to standard for the price - the sealing round the bath had mould and the whole room positively dingy. We advised the reception of the flood and she immediately said that she would move us to another room. We were relocated to room 504 and that was so much better. The whole room was more modern and the lay-out of the room was so much better. We were quite satisfied but wonder why we were allocated 506 in the first place. The stairs and corridors were unbelievably dark and unwelcoming. We had stayed in Brugges for three nights at the Flanders which was a little cheaper and far superior!

This was our third hotel on this trip and it was a great place. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk from the main train station and a 15-20 minute walk to the medieval center of Ghent. An alternative to walking around is the local tram that stops in front of the hotel. The hotel is updated, the rooms and bathrooms are large and modern by European and American standards. The breakfast is excellent and exceeds most fares of European hotels. Great place...great location. The town is unique and will provide competition to Bruges in the future. This hotel was a great experience and exceeded our expectations.

Though not in the centre of Ghent, travelling is easy at the number 1 tram stops right outside the hotel. The hotel is also quiet. Lacking was attention to detail. For example the mattress I had on my side of the bed was still covered in plastic, somewhat like a hospital bed, which was uncomfortable and noisy. I didn't realise this until I was getting into bed. That on my wife's side was okay. The sink in the bathroom emptied very very slowly, obviously blocked and there was a very loosely handle in the bath which had dangerous implications for people relying on it for support. These defects should have been spotted by room services at least. I was offered no compensation for a sleepless night.

Kind hotel staff. They had coffee pot and tea bags in the room, also the fridge (some hotels don't come with these basic facilities these days). Hotel's very close from the centraal station. Not necessarily close to the historic center in the city but the tram just in front of the hotel can take easily take you inside the city Old interior

A very enjoyable stay. Good location, close to railway staion, and right by a tram stop, and you can buy tram/bus tickets at the hotel. A chain, so a liitle impersonal, but otherwise entirely satisfactory. Note that the underground hotel garage will accept cars only up to 1.75m high - we had to park our tall Daihatsu Fourtrak in the street, which was not a problem for us but might be on weekdays.

“The Receptionist was always extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast facilities and food selection was very good. The 'suite' facilities were excellent - very spacious, clean, comfortable. The location was perfect, the surroundings were quiet at night, and it was a leisurely 10 minute stroll to the centre of the old city, and no matter which route you took the scenery was always pleasant. Ghent is a great city to visit, and the 'locals' are very friendly :-)” Liam, Dublin 16 |
