Score from 52 reviews Very good
Location - near train station and food store. Perfect for exploring both Bruges and Ghent. Staff - very friendly and helpful. The Room - clean, bright and comfortable. The beds were nice. All the rooms are named after a classic actor and decorated accordingly. Breakfast was ok.
Some vegetables would be nice for breakfast. Shower was somewhat difficult, e.g adjusting heat
good value for money clean
receptionist nice, but a bit slack nobody at reception when we arrived at 10:00pm, just an envelope left at the desk with the keys
Hotel is brilliantly situated for accessing Ghent and Brugge via the motorway
Rooms were uncomfortably warm due to lack of adequate ventilation and/or air conditioning. If you left the window open cigarette smoke from the courtyard below wafted into your room.
Excellent friendly staff. Good continental breakfast eat as much as you like.Really sets you up for the day.Easy motorway drive to Gent, Brussels, Brugges or Dutch coast.
Sadly the hotel is looking tired and even though it is clean we cannot fault the bedding, towels etc.The building is in need of renovation. This no doubt is why the hotel is closing for good in Sept 2014 and being knocked down to make way for shops and flats. Also not suitable for disabled visitors.
Fair price, clean, good location close to Bruges. Not a luxury place, but perfectly adequate for a night or two.
nice town. the location of the hotel is good.
small room with leaking shower and toilet. when we arrived for the check in there was no one at reception. we happened to find an envelope with my name on it on the corner of the front desk. it was in the evening but was not even dark. they did not even send us an email in advance to say there would not be anyone and keys would be left there.
There is no coffe machine, hair dryer available at the room (only in request in the reception) or towals to take a shower. It's not very clean, the localization wasn't so good, the parking is far away (5 min walking), but luckely I did found one park just in front of the hotel. The room was very hot and with kids it's not so good to turn on the portable air conditioner during the night. The wireless reception was not so good. The Hotel smells really bad at all levels of the stairs, please clean the dust and remove the carpet. Unfortunately I didn't check the comments before doing the reservation. I won't return again with all those bad conditions. Please use the money also to renew the Hotel.
The breakfast was ok.
There was no-one to welcome us on arrival, which at 8.00pm in the evening is not really acceptable. People arrived who had not booked and could not book in as there was no-one around so they left. The room was incredibly small although the bed was large and quite comfortable. The bathroom was very small. One window handle fell off. We wouldn't stay again.
If you are travelling by car and want to visit Gent and Bruges this is a good option since it is located halfway of those cities. There is a "oldschool" cinema inside so we could watch a nice movie before going to bed. The breakfast is decent.
We had the Marylin Monroe room and the toilet wasn't so clean. At the time I couldn't use maestro debit card or american express credit card so I had to walk to the nearest ATM (2mins) before checking-out.
Location and staff.
It's a little noisy if staying in a room facing the street. The rooms are not very spacious.
the hospitality. place for parking bikes
everything was ok
-bathroom is not clean. I found a shampoo bottle dropped in the shower room when I just check in to the room. -very hard to find the hotel. -toilet seems no one clean it.
town is amazing... nice and clean hotel. very safe place
Great staff friendly place to stay bed very comfortable
bathroom very small. decor very poor
location and accessibility from the motorway
Clean, good sized room convienient stopover and helpful staff.
There were no tea or coffe making facilities in the room or even in a public area. The bar wasn't open either so the only way to get a drink was to walk to local shops and see if they were open. Not good after a long journey from The Isle of Wight. No staff around if you needed help in the evening.
Good Location. Good value for money.
Room smelt of smoke
Channel crossing delayed but late check in not a problem.
Near the motorway.
Lack of parking. Restricted check-in times.
Location is ideal for visiting Flanders with car, and place is very quiet.
Water pressure in the bathroom was insufficient, it was hard to have a shower.
Very comfy bed, good value.
The room was a bit noisy.
A very good value for money hotel in a pleasant small town between Gent and Bruges and very convenient for the motorway. I arrived outside reception hours but keys were placed on reception desk for me... and I got to spende the night with Ingrid Bergmann!!
- Very close to the railwaystation. - Perfect for passing through
- Maybe I understood wrong, but at 07am and 07.30am, still no breakfast or not even seeing somebody making breakfast
