Score from 1918 reviews Very good
close to tram to centre of Ghent. Excellent Breakfast
Being refurbed at time of visit (no noise etc though)
Very clean and comfortable! Delicious breakfast!!
There was a llitle problem to find main entrance at night.
Placement (inside a wonderful park). Family like atmosphere. Quiet. Easy access from the train station by tram. Breakfast.
The hotel urgently needs renovation. Not even easy to fix damages are taken care (eg stick a tile in the bathroom). No wifi access in the room. I was given a lan cable which is useless for mobile phones and tablets. No restaurant inside the hotel.
Good breakfast, friendly staff and spacious room with bathroom and shower which were rather clean.
No shower gel provided.
Location (park surroundings); host friendliness and accommodating; breakfast was superb.
Tub surround determining and cleanliness.
Bed was comfortable. Close to tram line towards city centre.
Room was not clean. A lot of flies in the room and dead flies squashed against the ceiling and walls. Shower too low and awkward. The room didn't have a finished look to it. Not value for money by any means. Poor selection of cereal at breakfast.
Not in center so you have to take the tram but the stop is very close and you get the benefit of no parking challenges. Also easy to get the site and you avoid the owntown roads under construction and some even closed off.
Needs a very thorough cleaning. Shower curtain or some way to avoid getting bathroom floor wet also good.
Atmosphere Rooms style Gardens
We cannot understand how anyone can complain about this Hotel. People cannot expect a 5 star Hotel and only want to pay for a 2 star Hotel. We found this 2 star Hotel very good and can only recommend it further. By the way: the breakfast was excellent.
The beds were comfortable and the welcome was very warm. The general feel of the place was very good and breakfast was exceptional
Unfortunately we did not get the room type that we had booked (adjoining). While this was disappointing the owner did his best to compensate by providing two separate rooms.
Quirky country style of rooms, good access to city (we drove but you can get trams). No coffee in rooms but you can help yourself at the lobby bar. Nice breakfast room and good breakfast. Outdoor area to sit
Still a bit of work going on
The location is good next to a lovely park with free parking, and it's 10 minutes walk to a tram stop where you can get a tram into the town centre. Breakfast was good.
We got the 'room' next to the reception and right by the terrace for guests. It does not have a single window and is separated from the terrace only by 2 floor to ceiling glass panels, one fixed and the other is the door. There is no ventilation anywhere and no air conditioning. The door must be closed for security and there was no privacy unless we closed the curtains fully. This is certainly not a 'room' fit for habitation. We were attracted by the lovely views in all the photos and cancelled a cheaper 4-star hotel. What a big mistake! There was no option to book either a room with or without a view, so you could get one of these so called 'rooms'.
The location was close to a tram which took you to the center of Gent and near a lovely park garden with animals nearby . The breakfast room was very attractive and the copious breakfast was delicious!!! Room décor was attractive!
The chalet looked rustic and like a motel entering the room from the outside.
Location is great, close to city and close to connection road.Beautiful garden. Friendly staff. Found out the breakfast is included in the price. This is what makes this hotel value for money.
The only things that look clean to me me were the sheets, all the rest look abandoned and not really clean...
Very friendly and helpful staff Substantial breakfast Lovely decor Nice location in park -lovely for young children
Dirty downstairs WC
Not far from the city center but was situated on the nicest park with lovely farm animals!
Loved it all.
- breakfast was really good - friendly host - very nice park around - free parking
Room was not very clean, lots of spiderwebs and spiders that we got rid of the first night. No floormat to wipe off dirty shoes when coming in the room after heavy rain (and cold floor...)
The manager on duty was very nice and eager to be helpful.
Difficult to find, our rooms stank of the stagnant water in the creek outside, ceilings had dead bugs, dust & mildew on them, wifi didn't work in the rooms, bathrooms were in bad shape - dirty with broken tiles, mildew & broken flusher on the toilet (another review from JANUARY mentions this!), floors were dusty, cobwebs & dust under the bed, furniture was shabby, tons of Mosquitos from the stagnant creek, our spare pillow was filthy & stained. The photos posted for this listing look nothing like what we actually saw. We were afraid to even use the shower or eat breakfast the next morning, we simply packed and left. I feel badly for the owner/manager as he was very sweet, but the condition of our rooms was unacceptable.
Beautiful old place with great view Breakfast was good
Manny things not working and need some repair Bedding - old A lot of mosquitoes!!!
Owner nice, breakfast good, nice park around
we were absolutely disapointed by the fact that we booked 3-star chalet but when arrived to property it was only 2-star written for the chalet . The facilities in the room are consistent with 2 stars rating only, some of them broken, towels sound old and need absolute changing, many rooms as ours are at the ground means you will not have nice view as seen on the picture on bookings.com..the price for 1 night 150 Eur was too expensive for what we got.
Great safe location for us as we were towing a large open trailer. Ample parking and close to tram service into city. Really friendly staff and great value rooms. Lovely park alongside the hotel.
We stayed in room No. 1. Excellent breakfast, clean room, well equipped with quality furniture, WiFi was OK in quality, sufficient free parking, spacious bathroom
no airconditioning or window to open for fresh/cool air other than opening the door which is not recommended for room No. 1 which had its own entrance on the ground floor.
good location with park. 2 minute walk to metro, 15 minutes to centre. ground floor room, small but comfortable. nice breakfast, helpful friendly owner. easy access to major roads, free parking
no windows in the room other than glass entrance doors. no ventilation in bathroom.
The place is in a serious state of disrepair. As our only night in Belgium was here we really felt that Belgium must be having some serious financial crisis going on...
