If you are looking for a reasonably cheap place to stay, stay at the Chelton. You definitely get your money's work, with the cleanlyness, wifi.
The only downside is it's a bit of a walk to main part of town, Like 1.5-2km away but just hop on the metro.
Spacious rooms with large comfortable beds. Lots of hot water and plenty of towels.
Breakfast was pricey.
Staff were very formal, not very friendly, didn't offer help
perfect room, friendly and helpful staff, internet was stable and fast, location is good (close to metro)
cleanliness no tea making facilities had to buy tea separately.
nice terrace on the roof, staff are pleasant, bed is very comfortable
internet is way too slow, the room smelled stale there was no tea/coffee making facilities
Good price Clean room Terrace with a nice view
Location wasn't very central Room was very hot Had to go down a spiral staircase to get to the toilet
Great location, simple clean accommodation, friendly staff.
Lack of facilities in room - no kettle / fridge / any info pack about the hotel or surrounding area.
Close to centre town Good transport connections
WIFI conexion problems
good location, close to metro. The bed is extremely comfortable. Nice bed table
The carpet in the room smelled weird from previous occupants. Wifi broke down
Roof terrace Large room with sofa Affordable
It was fairly far out the city centre but wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have as much to carry or had a car.
Close to Shuman metro station and supermarket
Noises outside the room in the night. It was like knocking the wall in the hall few times in the night. It woke me up
Homie feeling, clean, friendly staff and warm atmosphere overall. Pleased for the 2 nights spent there.
Found it a bit different to have the bathroom/ shower and toilet as separate rooms. Not a great deal as the room served it's purpose.
Pleasant stuff, nice location and comfort room. Check in and check out possible 0 - 24h.
The room is clean , wifi is strong friendly staff
Neat and spacious rooms. 24hr reception staff - was very useful as we reached late in the night. Has a lift for upper floors or more baggage. 2kms from the centre with a metro station( Schuman) at 10min walk. Supermarket and a a few restaurants at walkable distance. They have double, triple and superior(fr 4) rooms. Very helpful staff. Will definately stay here again.
The first room we stayed in did not have a proper working ac but tht cld be just tht one room as the next one had it working beautifully.
The staff, wi fi and the computer at the common area.
The air conditioner in our room was not working.
spacious rooms modern urban eco look
Great summer value deal. Decently-sized room. Simple, modern decoration -- very functional. A selection of TV channels. Air conditioning in the room. Very large windows that open fully -- a big plus during the summer heat (if you don't like A/C).
The WiFi signal wasn't particularly strong in my room (4th floor), so it was difficult to Skype, for example. Moreover, I kept getting logged off. Over the two-week period of my stay, the lift was out of order several times, though usually only for short periods. Smokers congregate just outside the entrance to the hotel, which means that you frequently smell cigarette smoke if your room faces Rue Veronese. The hallways and stairs were a bit dark and run-down, but this didn't matter too much overall.
excellent location very close to the EU institutions. my room was quite large.
wifi connection was fairly slow
Good location, modern and large room, comfortable bed, reliable WiFi connection.
No tea and coffee making facilities
Good breakfasts Friendly staff Good location for access to public transport and EU institutions
Rooms a bit outdated and in need of some attention Air conditioning very weak
- cleaness - acceptable - not very close to city center, but 10 min walk to Shuman Metro and Shuman Train station - so, can be good for traveling to other parts of Belgium. - wifi - mostly ok
the shower wasn't clean enough and partly broken
Location of the hotel. Location of the room (on the top floor with access to the terrace!) 24H reception desk. Comfortable bed.
Hotel policy restricting receiving invoice /non-refundable pre-payed booking/ at the time of arrival but on the day of departure only. Hotel policy on restricted possibility for cash transations at the reception desk (enabling staff to give back the rest of the amount payed by cash).
very handy for all the EU technical institutions where I have to work. Quiet and has a great organic resto where you can find unusual food like rose and cardamon jam.
