The location was just what we wanted. Away from a main road and lovely hosts. Real characters. They recommended a local eating house, which was superb. English breakfast. good as well.
They were digging the road up so it was a little hard to find.
I liked the personal atmosphere and the possibility of making coffee and having sweets in the evening. I had a little problem with my bike and I got help!
The way wasn't easy at all to find!! And it would have been nice if there had been a possibility to get my bike inside or under a roof. Fortunately it did'nt rain that night!
Friendly atmosphere and hosts. Real homely and cats to pet if you need to while away a few moments.
Lovely people! Love the location! We had all we needed. Maybe in a few years we come back!
Nothing. It was extremely disappointing. It was incomprehensible that this property was passed by the regulatory authorities . Everything in the guest area was very obviously unfinished . Decoration amateurish. Furnishings very basic. Linen and towels of very poor quality.
Friendly and easy going couple running the place (Liz&Jon)
Rooms a bit too small for two cyclists with bikes and cycling kit - especially 'cos it was raining
Friendly helpful couple who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Eg. Breakfast of your choice as well as usual continental you get in bigger hotels. Provided local beers for us in evening, added to bill at end,but half price of same in town or hotels. Excellent English cooked to order in my case. Very good at helping to organise visits to museums and sites saved us hours! Felt at home in cosy living room, rather like an English cottage. Nice touches in bedroom, coffee, tea, water, etc. Good choice.Alround good laugh and good stay. Not to everyones liking though! John can be quite excitable and loud! My son loved his company! Will go back.
Some work required to building, mainly rear area before opening to guests properly.
Very friendly owners, who shared generously their substantial knowledge of the area.
Warm friendly welcome, offer of transportation to and from Ypres for one day, lovely breakfast, welcome to sit in family sitting room, all sorts of toiletries etc.
The back room, for two people, a little squashed
The friendship shown by our hosts
It was a bit bastc as they are still developing the facilities
Very friendly host! She was helpful and made a great breakfast the next day.
Hospitality very good very friendly and very good breakfast
Friendly family atmosphere, the banter with the staff.
Liz and John made us feel like it was home from home. Very caring especially as I ended up in hospital they were as worried as my daughter and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely go there again. Thank you both so very much.
Liz & John are friendly and very good on providing information about the area. Liz is involved in the local British Legion and her enthusiasm shows. Close to Ypres yet in a quiet country lane a mile or so off the main road. TV in room
You need to like cats. Not easy to find
