-The Location to the Grand Market and subway access. -The nice coffee shop 2-3 blocks to the South, a few doors down from the Fish Markets - The Beautiful fountain with statue of 'St. Michael slaying Lucifer' to the North -The pleasant staff on-site, -The Colorful Clouds at Sunrise out our room window, noting we could wake and leave this place, not to ever return again. The price for the room was a poor value compared to what you get in the U.S.a or anywhere else we stayed in Europe for the same price. -Of our 17 night stay in Europe, this was our most memorable place to stay for all the wrong reasons. I found this hotel in Rick Steves' Amsterdam Bruges/Brussels Book and made our reservation on May 14th for a stay in late Sept. I chose it specifically because of the Parking Garage available for our rental car, and the 3 triangle Rating by rs. Upon arrival, we drove in circles for several hours around the general vacinity of the Hotel, yet never were able to drive up to it. Several Barricades for construction compelled me to park the car, then walk several blocks to discover that the ENTIRE street in front of the Citadines St. Catherines Hotel was torn up and there was NO ACCESS to the parking garage. Although I found the Concierge to be pleasant, I let him know it would have been nice to have been informed of this major inconvenience since they knew of it ahead of time and chose not to inform me. As there was no place to park my car as advertised, I had to immediately return our rental car and skip our reservations for a pre-scheduled tour of a manufacturing facility. We found the room to be tiny, with a stale, musty, odor, and an old filthy, stain ridden carpet, complete with a Bed that was a LoveSeat sized Old hide-a-bed couch, a wafer thin mattress covering the metal bar jamming in your back and all. The only remotely redeeming qualties of our visit were: Room Tip: A tip to choose a good room would be to find one at a different hotel.

Good location, just right to the metro station, few stops from Grand Palace or European insitutions... Good prize, safety area, the apartman was fully equiped, the coffey was free, the internet as well... Nice staff. The bed was not so comfortable, the noise from reconstruction was quite bad, but if the extra-comfort is not the necessity, the hotel is great.

The location is rather splendid at the heart of the city only 5 min. walking distance to the grande place and just in front of the subway station. The studio room I booked was rather shabby. The mattress was saggy. And the fridge in the room tremendously noisy. I had to switch it off at night.

Nice, clean, and quiet rooms. Fully equipped kitchen, with fridge, microwave, mini-dishwasher, and cutlery and crockery. Free internet (wifi and with cable) Toilet was a bit smelly: ventilation did not work. Clothing hooks on bathroom door were missing.

Perfect location, in the heart of the city centre.Very good connections with the metro. Furniture was very shabby and old. The carpet was full of stains. There was not a proper bad, I had to sleep on an extending sofa. There was even no duvet, just old blankets. There was an advertisement that there are other renovated studios in the hotel. When making a reservation you have to klick on de lux studios/appartments to reserve them.

I found personnel speaking my own language (Italian). There was no real bed, but merely a sofa opened into a bed, with a small mattress. I wouldn't have expected that, given the price.

It has excellent location, close to the underground station and historic sites. The cleanliness of the room was very under any standard. The room was smelly, carpet was very dirty and curtains were washed long time ago. The bad reminded me scout camps, I was not sure it was clean, there were only blankets. Very overypriced - for 160 euros that I paid I never slept in a place like this one.

The location is fine. Hotel is far overpriced for what it offers. The rooms that are not renovated are dirtty, used up, there is no bed, but sofa, which smells and it is really used up. The carpet is very dirty and smells of the fungi.Mke sure that you get a room in the renovated rooms!!! And attention - during the period from about noon time till 18:00 there are drilling in the hotel - renovations, and repairing streets infront of the hotel. Nois that one normal person can not stand. If you have other posibilities please avoid this place before all the hotel is renovated - I am so sorry for having such an experience during my three days in Brussels.

visited all the tourist sites in the city,. drank the beer and ate some chocolate. viewed various museums. Went through many cathederals, they were just amazig. The city is beautiful and very clean for a large city. We had a great time. The coffee machine in the hotel lobby was a great plus every morning. We just stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, rather than an exteneded stay. The room we stayed in had a pull out couch for a bed, we would have preferred a bed. But we did find the pull out couch to be comfortable, so it was not a big deal.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is in very close proximity to the St Catherine Metro Station and others, the city centre is within a couple of hundred meters, shops, restaurants, cafes & bars surround the area too. Due to the location we were able to visit most of the attractions in Brussels by foot. The room and bath room was large and the self contained kitchen was great although we didn't use it. The bed in the room was a sofa bed as advertised and we were amazed at how well we slept the two nights we stayed.

The hotel was located in a very clean and safe area within close proximity to Grand Place, the local retail shopping district, fantastic pubs and restaurants and walking distance to the Palace etc. The metro is directly outside the hotel and is easy to use. 20 minutes to the atomium and 5 stops to Brussels midi for the Eurostar perfect and stress free.
