The staff was great, very helpful and kind. I like older hotels that are not standard American hotels. There was a Halal restaurant/bar/music hall that played until 5am Friday and Saturday nights across the street from the hotel. The first night we got little sleep, the second night, we went to the desk about 3am and asked for another room and a refund. They put us in another room that didn't face the street, but no discount was given. We are returning to Brussels before our return flight to the states. Not sure if we can stay there again without assurances that our night will not be interrupted.

Considering it was based in the North part of the city it wasn't a great location for the tourist hot spots but it was great for nice bars, squares and shops. We stayed for 1 night and it was only one 15 minute ride to the airport. Watch out for taxi drivers though this hotel is a five minute walk from the train station NOT a €12 taxi ride The room was small but comfortable. The walls not very sound proof. Hasn't had the decor updates for some time but for convenience it was great!

Location The price for the room seems to be too much for the level of comfort and the breakfast quality. The temperature in the room was low (~13C) and facility was not possible to turn on.

The big golden cow in reception was a rare highlight of the trip. Other than that, I liked closing the door behind me after I checked out, safe in the knowledge that I will never have to endure such a dire hell-hole again. I was initially allocated a twin room, although I had asked for a double. I'm too tall to sleep comfortably in a single bed (I have been since I was in my teens), my feet hang over the end. So I politely requested to be given the double room I had asked for. After being told the hotel was full (complete rubbish!), I was made to wait 15 minutes while the person at reception stuck his thumb up his backside from various directions, before magically pulling a double room out of some dark crevice. The room was dark and dingy and far more cramped than the photo of the room I had admired on Booking.com's website. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, although there is an empty refridgerator. I don't know if it actually worked or not. In the bathroom, the toilet seat was loose. Now, that was a truly unpleasant surprise! And the crack in the bidet porcelain scared me witless. This is the sort of thing that gives a grown man nightmares! Back in the bedroom, the TV remote was held together with cellotape, but still didn't work. At least it looked like it might though! When I complained at checkout, the manager didn't give a damn and was more interested in telling me that "the thing is... blah, blah, blah" and "Booking.com get things wrong sometimes". Never once did she think of apologising! I am actually horrified that Booking.com actually include these cowboys in their listings. Can I give them a negative rating? Something like -7? I strongly advise no-one stays here until they up their game considerably.

Location in a business area - rather quiet and a lot of city infrastructure around. North railway station is close. Comfort is good, except for lack of several elements listed. Clean and rather quiet Absence of a fridge and a boiler / teapot. Absence of a hair dryer

Good breakfast, should be included in room price. Some of staff at reception were helpful and service oriented. Other reception staff member made us miss our tour because although we had waited for over 20 minutes at reception, he did not ask who we were. This same person was slow. The beds were too soft.

The location was great...close to shopping, the Central Palace was only a short walk and close to the Metro lines and busses. Great room for a person without a car. The hotel had a night club across the street that played loud music on both nights of our stay keeping us awake. The hotel offered no room amenities, I.E. shampoo, etc. The water pressure was also low.

Excellant location. Good value for money. Very friendly staff who spoke good English. We were able to have our room immediately on arrival eventhough we were well before the given arrival time. Rooms simple but comfortable and clean. We didn't have breakfast as we felt it was too expensive.

Clean and simple, it's very near the noord train and bus station which makes it a good place to stay if you don't have a car. It's a good quality/price ratio, no specific drawbacks.

Nice entry, grand ground floor; historic. Good security for key entry into elevator and into main hallway of each floor. Shoe shine machine at every level. Centrally located to Grand Place, and other places. Although I liked the historic accents of the hotel (I understand it has been around at least since the 1950's) I didnt like that it smelled very old and musty as you entered the hotel. The rooms were very old which isnt bad, but the beds were very uncomfortable and the cable tv did not work.
