This converted freighter from 1928 boasts picturesque countryside views in Merkem, 11 km from Diksmuide. Guests can enjoy having the entire boat to themselves which includes a bar and terraces. De Boot includes free Wi-Fi, a living area and kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a special ‘snoring’ cabin with a single bed which overlooks the fields. Guests can book the boat for one person or book up to 5 extra beds to stay as a group. The terraces are ideal for picnics and barbecue facilities are provided. Situated on the Ieper-IJzer canal in an area ideal for recreational cycling, De Boot also offers bicycle rental. The centre of Ieper is 25 minutes’ drive away. Private parking is available on site. Lovely view from all angle of the boat.Very relaxed .The cycle trails are excellent.Easy reach to Brugge.The owners Bart and Ann are very lovely .helpful people and always available to to help and advise on places to visit.

The unique atmosphere. The friendliness of the owner and staff. The free range of their facilities - and the open honesty policy they had. The insects were a bit much. I understand we are with nature and in the country. However, a good sweep around boat could have done wonders to control the spiders. Due to the high number of spiders, our children had to share a bed b/c the "snore room" was infested with them. While our sleep room was VERY CLEAN... I found the rest of the area to be less so. It was tolerable.

La grande humanité du propriétaire, le cadre pitoresque complètement dépaysant nous on donné beaucoup de mal à repartir.. On y reviendra très volontier pour les plaisirs du vélo sur les chemins de campagne qui entoure "de boot" !!
