Couldn't recommend this more! Excellent location and we were very well looked after! Lovely breakfasts every morning. The place was recently refurbished to a very high standard. Loved sitting by the fire with a glass of wine! Thank you Kurt. I'll definitely be back next year!!
The friendly welcome was exceptional. Relaxing lounge area with all mod cons. Very well decorated, with modern mixing with traditional. Would definitely return. Although only had three rooms, this was a great benefit as resulted in creating a more intimate atmosphere.
If only I could think of something.
location, space, host
A fantastic B&B, good location, spacious with a lovely lounge area, it is newly decorated to a very high standard. The B&B is very clean, it has spacious rooms, lovely bathrooms, and the owner is a great host. I can not imagine finding a better B&B in Bruges. Breakfast was perfect.
A delightful house in a great location easily walkable to the market square and other sights. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the living room with a fire was a great place to relax having come in from the cold. Most importantly though Kurt was a fantastic host, very friendly and generous, he had loads of great recommendations for meals and things to do, which all turned out to be great. Breakfast was delicious in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay at De Jacobijn, we were made to feel at home and would highly recommend it.
Wifi reception in our room was not great but was excellent in the living room.
We had a lovely stay in Bruges. Our host Kurt made the trip even better with his very pleasant personality and great recommendations for restaurants and day-trips.
Just about everything. Location was great, room was large and comfortable, breakfast delicious. Kurt was welcoming and helpful. For those who aren't looking for the ammenities of a large hotel, this is perfect.
No soap or shampoo.
From the minute we stepped through the door, we were made to feel very welcome. Kurt, the owner, really is an excellent host who went out of his way to make stay very special. The accommodation was more than just a B&B. We had the run of the downstairs which included a kitchen and lounge area. This meant that after our evening out, the four of us could relax and have a drink in front of the fire on comfy settees. The breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice. Overall this accommodation is excellent value for money.
Having to come home!
We loved our whole experience at B & B De Jacobijn! Kurt was a warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic host. The B & B, a recently remodeled Bruge home, is well situated to explore the city center and close by neighborhoods. It was a perfect place to travel with friends. The open well appointed living space provided a great place to relax with our traveling companions. The rooms were spacious with plenty of accessible storage, a very comfortable bed, and a table and chairs. Our host prepared a delicious breakfast each day--eggs made to order, freshly baked croissants, fresh orange juice and ample coffee. Kurt is knowledgeable about the community and was a great resource for site seeing and eating. We highly recommend B & B De Jacobijn for your stay in Bruge.
...a very clean B&B with excellent finishings. Breakfast was also great - varied and fresh.
The wifi signal was a little weak in one room.
Kurt was extremely hospitable and informative. Good location.
Decor needs to be warmed up with a few rugs. Road noise a problem when windows open.
Our host could not have been better in any way
Fantastic base for exploring Bruges and surrounding area. Large, comfortable and modern rooms. Kurt is an excellent host, providing recommendations and a lift to the station. Breakfast is very good.
The room was excellent, clean and spacious and the B&B is in an excellent location, but far and away, the best thing about the stay is the hospitality of the host, Kurt. He goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable, and makes a wonderful stay even more amazing.
Everything! Kurt was such an amazing host that we felt we were staying with a friend. We have never felt more welcome than we did here and will definitely return if we are back in Bruges. His words: "My home is your home". The house was immaculate, very clean and comfortable. Our bedroom was beautiful in a minimalistic style but with lots of hanging and storage space. There was bottled water and glasses with a small table and two chairs in the room. Downstairs was open plan with big comfy sofas where we were encouraged to sit by the fire with a glass of wine. Kurt had also shown us the kitchen where we were welcome to make tea or coffee or help ourselves to wine or water from the fridge. We spent a very enjoyable hour or so chatting to Kurt by the fireside on our return from the city which is only a few minutes walk.He told us about places to visit and recommended a very good restaurant used by locals. Breakfast too was excellent and very well presented. Nothing was too much trouble. I even heard him working out a sight seeing plan for a young American couple. B & B Jacobijn takes B & B to a whole new level.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike other than the fact we couldn't stay longer!.
Generous breakfast Nice rooms Good location Friendly host
Comfortable, clean and attractive accommodation. Sleek and modern style but still cosy. Host was very friendly and helpful. It's a small establishment so feels very relaxed. Good breakfast.
Wifi signal wasn't great on our room, but was fine in living room so didn't matter.
We took our Aunty with us to explore the area. We had two rooms which by the way are huge. When we got to the property we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, a nice chat and a laugh with the host. We felt at home straight away. Breakfast was lovely. The centre of town is only 5 minutes and 26 seconds away:) The showers are awesome. We could not fault it, it was awesome.
I can honestly say nothing

Kurt is an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. He even transported us to and from Bruges railway station. The freedom of the house was also appreciated, "Kurt's house is your house". De Jacobijn is in a quiet location only a 10 minute stroll from the market centre.
Having to leave!
Excellent reception from an amazing host, endless supply of food for breakfast (perfectly cooked), very quiet and comfortable room, everything you would need.
Excellent location, close to centre of town. Room very well appointed and Kurt could not have been a more helpful and pleasant host. Breakfast was excellent as well.
Nothing really, but look out for mosquitoes. Keep them out the room!
This place is amazing. Good position in the old town, Wonderful room, quiet, extremely clean, really comfortable. Very good breakfast and access to food and drink at any hour. Above all, the person who runs the place, Kurt, is the kindest I ever found in my recent trips. He kindly gave us everything we need, help, informations and more. That's what I call Excellence. Than you for all. Highly recommendable.
This is the first time I've stayed at a B&B and I was really blown away. Everything about this place is great. It's beautiful, the owner is extremely hospitable and the location is perfect. Away from the touristy areas but within a 5 minute walk. Wish our stay had been longer.
