location: was close to train station - we walked to the hotel from the train station Breakfast (included) was excellent staff was helpful rooms were small but décor was nice could walk into central part of town
bus service close to hotel stopped at 5:30. We had to get off and walk from the train station after that time
This was an excellent base for exploring Brugge .Staff very helpful room a little small but was expected as this is a converted barge. Only a 10 min walk into centre which was a pleasant walk. Breakfast was great lots of choice.
Late one evening another guest little confused managed to gain access to our room possible problem with coding for electronic keys
The breakfast was fantastic, all staff were friendly, the room was very comfortable and clean
Nothing I would change!!
The view onto the water was amazing. The breakfast was very delicious. The room (officers cabin) was really nice and big enough for 2. All in all the hotel and it's interior was extraordinary.
The WLAN didn't quite reach our room (officers cabin). We could only get access while sitting in the lobby or restaurant.
Friendly staff, good varied breakfast and restaurant/bar on board. Room comfy
location, peaceful atmosphere and very cordial staff
I would say, could be more memorable stay had I given the lake view room
The hotel is situated on one of the larger canals that surround the city and is a 10 minute stroll to reach the city. Hotel was very clean and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a selection of hot and cold and there was plenty of it. Bread was baked fresh and the selection was great. I would definitely stay there again
peaceful location with easy parking only 15 minutes walk from the centre
room was quite narrow
We loved the fact that you could park directly outside for free and the location was ideal as was a short walk to the city and a pretty one . Staff were friendly without been over the top . Accommodation was lovely and the breakfast was fantastic so much to choose from .
The towels were to small and some water in the room would of gone down well
My daughter and I were very excited and also anxious with booking The Barge but we were so pleased with the decision. We had a lovely stay. Kettle available on request from reception for my hot water bottle as have bad back. Would definitely go again! Amazing. Close enough to walk from station and our loved our daily walks to places of interest in and around Bruges.
Our room was above the 'smokers lounge' so we kept getting whafts of smoke when the windows were open, a little unpleasant why the smokers couldn't sit on the terrace outside I don't know!
The very friendly staff and within a 10min walk into bruge
The location, super decor & great breakfast.
I booked this hotel because I did not want to stay in a conventional hotel and I was not disappointed. Room, staff, breakfast, location (10 min walk from station) - all perfect for me.
A great location if you like peace and quiet, soothing views of the water and trees across the canal (ask for canal-facing room). Very good quality breakfast. Helpful staff. Walk to all main sights in Bruges in 10-15 minutes.
I have been going to Bruges for 30 years and this is the best place I have stayed, going to book again for next year! Fantastic accommodation Fantastic breakfast Fantastic location
I got bit all over, shall keep the window closed and buy insect repellent
The breakfast was excellent, not simply a Continental but cooked with plenty of choice. Staff friendly. the novelty of staying on a boat was excellent. Will stay there again.
The small lounge was a smoking area.
Staff were extremely friendly, restaurant was delicious and great price. Breakfast that was included was great with wide selection of options. Very much enjoyed our stay!
The quietness of the location.
Bed was a little hard and it was two single put together but given the size of the room, it is to be expected.
The general ambience and location were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Probably ate too much at breakfast!
Loved the restaurant, the food there was really nice. Very tender rabbit and lovely big rump steak! And great breakfast buffet. It had everything you could possibly want for breakfast. Loved the quirkiness of the boat and the decoration. The restaurant seemed to have been done up not long ago. Close to the town. Nice and quiet at night.
The coffee in the restaurant was dreadful! But then, coffee was awful in all of Bruges. Very hard to find a good cup of coffee... The beds were not very good. We both woke up with a back ache. Girl at the restaurant could try smiling every now and then. Didn't like the coach parking so close, but to be fair, there wasn't much noise or exhaust smell or anything. It seemed strange that we had to pay to have a kettle in the room. The Wifi-signal was too weak. If we were lucky it worked in one corner of the room, but not for long.
Friendly and novel
Smoke smell in room from floor below
The hotel had lots of character and was nice and clean with good facilities. It was only a short walk away from the centre of Brugge.
The receptionist/waitress who checked us in was not very friendly so we did not feel very welcome. The breakfast selection wasn't very big and it was quite cramped to try and use the buffet around other people. We found the restaurant to be quite expensive. The walls were also very thin so we could hear everything going on in the surrounding rooms.
Easy free parking, good breakfast, A canal side window, to feed the ducks is an extra
the room was too small.
