The barge itself. Quaint room with nautical touches, lovely dining room and fantastic breakfast choices. Location good about 10 minutes to restaurants and cafés and historic centre.
Cabin was small....especially the bathroom. Toilet up a step..which could be difficult for tall or larger people.
An interesting and different place to stay the night Great breakfast Free parking An ideal starting point from which to explore the canals and city on foot
The hotel was gorgeous and clean. It was a fun experience sleeping on a house boat. The breakfast was delicious and had an amazing variety. Eating breakfast on the water was a great way to start the day.
It is a little outside the city but the walk wasn't too bad.
Location, easy car parking, comfortable room, clean bathroom and superb canal views, tasty breakfast and a short walk to the tourist attractions.
The hotel has character. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was good
Lack of storage and hanging space. Towels excellent for exfoliating, not much else!
Really friendly staff at the reception. The lady (brunette hair)and gentleman (Man with long grey hair ) were really helpful with all our needs. we love animals so was great to feed the ducks from our cabin window.
We really wanted to try the restaurant buy was not open during our stay. I hope the opening can be extended beyond just the weekend
Atmosphere was lovely and we had a canal view, very helpful staff.
Little bit far from centre.
Excellent location for an easy amble to see everything in Bruges in a few days. Very helpful staff and wifi for the kids was a bonus for the evenings.
It was all excellent
just a 15min stroll to the centre close to rail & bus stations.
A great place to stay for something a little different. One of the best breakfasts around. Would definitely stay again.
Staff were excellent and very approachable. Room was what we had imagined and we had ensured one with a view of the water not the bank. Breakfast was plentiful allowing for a continental style or scrambled eggs, baked beans, and bacon lardons if you wanted a cooked version. The restaurant in the evening served a varied menu, some fixed priced as well as a la carte. Finding the hotel and parking was easy. Setting off for a walk into Bruges is simple as you walk throught the park entrance and the rest opens up before you.
Wi-fi was not very strong in the room so had to go into reception/bar area. If you are were able to eat in the restaurant for more than 2 nights you might struggle to find a starter that suits. The lounge area unfortunately had been used by smokers and whilst a lovely area it meant that we did not use it as a consequence.
Central location for town, superb breakfast, very relaxing nights sleep.
Dining room was a little busy at breakfast.
We loved the unusualness of the Hotel especially the life jackets in the "cabins". The food was great and the staff, especially the receptionist, were helpful and friendly. The B&B price was just right for our pockets whilst the location was quiet and relaxing.
The price of food and drinks but then we discovered over the 3 days we were there that they were not out of the ordinary so this is a general comment rather than hotel specific.
Location and ambience
No wi-fi reception in room even though it was reported as 'in all area's'. Could hear other guests from room, but that is expected from a converted boat - not an issue for us. No dining fasciities during week evenings although The Mayflower boat at the next mooring along did serve good meals.
Quiet comfortable room overlooking the canal. Good shower facility and Wifi worked most of the time albeit slow. The buffet breakfast offered a good plentiful choice and the food menu in the restaurant for an evening meal was varied and not that expensive. Free parking is convenient and close by. The king sized bed was comfortable and extra pillows were provided. The TV had a long list of available channels but only a few English. Passing boats along the canal added interest. Convenient for sightseeing in Brugge and easy access to the road network for travel to outlying towns and villages.
No tea/coffee making facilities and limited shelf and storage space. Our room (24) was on the second floor up a short flight of stairs, not easy for anyone with a disability. We found mosquitoes to be a problem and were assured that the room would be sprayed with insect repellent but it was only when we bought our own spray can did the problem get removed on the 3rd and last night of or stay.
Nothing not to like.
Location is excellent not too far from Bruges far enough away for peace & quiet. Plus the added bonus of hassle free parking in Bruges
The rooms were very small but I guess this is to be expected as it is a badge. But they do need a bit of refurbishment,TLC .
PeacefulLocation, friendly staff and parking facility
Noise above one of our rooms throughout the night
staff was friendly and helpful, canalside atmosphere authentic and fun. Beautiful little breakfast room cum bar/resturant. plentiful breakfast offerings .Clean and well cared-for. Close to and easy walk to central train station.
Authentic old barge so rooms are small. Close to Minnepark but a convoluted walk to city center. However, still pleasant and doable. On days when Barge restaurant is closed, a bit of a walk to other eating establishements.Be aware Bruges goes to bed early!
Roomy cabin Fan plus large windows Provision of electric jug Wonderful breakfast Easy acess to car.Free parking. Comfortable lounge.
Quirky converted barge makes it an interesting choice. Very pleasant walk brings you quickly into the town. On an 18 day trip across 6 european countries, this was the only hotel out of 10 used which had 2 good pillows each in our double room.
Great location with free parking. 10 min walk to town centre. Second stay here and would return again.
Towels could do with replacing.
This is great! 5 minutes from the entrance into Brugge, yet silence. Very hospitable personnel. Internet working perfectly.
The price :-) But it was worth every cent!
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room is small (as expected) but comfortable - there was a nice canal view. Wifi worked well. Restaurant is really nice - definitely worth eating at.
No air-conditioning and only a small window for fresh air.
