The hotel “Den Wolsack” is situated in a beautiful renovated neoclassical building, in the very heart of Mechelen's city center at the foot of St.-Rombouts Cathedral. Staff at the hotal were very friendly. Hotel was ideal for the centre. The only downside to the hotel was the building work going on opposite. Construction of an underground car park.

If you are in for some days in the wonderful town of Mechelen the hotel is a really good place to stay.It is situated just next to magnificent cathedral and only few meters from the Town Square (Grote Markt). Just around the corner you have a small square with a nice Greek restaurant and the smallest bar of Mechelen. It is also only 300 meters away from the cozy fish market situated at the canal. The standard of the hotel is fair but far from a luxury hotel. The rooms are old but of a good size. The breakfast is fair but dont arrive there too late and they will have run out of some of the products.

had dit hotel online gerserveerd op zaterdagmiddag. Kreeg keurig bevestiging per E mail. Bij aankomst bleek receptie gesloten. er was niets bekend over een boeking. Hotel blijkt maar tot 12.00 uur zaterdagmiddag receptie te hebben.Alle boekingen daarna worden niet gezien. Kortom:geen kamer Personeel van het restaurant heeft nog keurig een hoetl voor ons geregeld. Maar om eerlijk te zijn was het wel een tegenvaller. Misschien toch aandacht hiervoor?

De kamer die we kregen had een vervelende geur. Bij het ontbijt werd aan al de gasten gevraagd of ze een glaasje cava wilden maar aan ons werd er niets gevraagd,spijtig wij lusten dat ook wel.

De ligging is prachtig en ik hoop dat de bouwwerkzaamheden voor het hotel spoedig voltooid zullen zijn. De ietwat ouderwetse stijl spreekt mij aan. Het personeel is vriendelijk en voorkomend. Mooie tv-schermen in de kamers. Nog even ter informatie: ik was deelnemer aan de eerste fietsvakantiebeurs in de Nekkerhal. Het aantal bezoekers was ruim 13.000. Dat betekent waarschijnlijk dat ook volgend jaar die beurs er zal zijn. Wellicht dat u daarop kan inspelen. Het raam aan de Wollemarktkant is niet tochtvrij. 'S Avonds zag ik de gordijnen een beetje bewegen.

Als Mechelaar geboren, die ondertussen meer dan 20 jaar in de Vlaamse Ardennen woon, koos ik voor Hotel De Wolsack, omdat ik daar in het verleden af en toe iets ging drinken, toen er nog van het hotel geen sprake was. Ik was was ernorm verrast van de kwalitiet van de vrij eenvoudige maaltijd die ik had besteld. Hierbij wil ik zeker een pluim geven aan de mensen die zich bezig hielden met de servis, zowel in het restaurant als voor het hotel. Wat mij betreft, een aanrader voor iedereen. Ludo Meysman Kritiek geven is nooit moeilijk, maar ik kan niets bedenken wat mij is tegen gevallen. Beroeps halve ga ik veel op hotel, zodat enig vergelijk mogelijk is. Geef mij maar Hotel Den Wolsack, ook als je ziet welke prijzen voor een minimum aan confort en servis wordt aangerekend.

vriendelijke mensen, gemoedelijk. Beetje oud en niet goed onderhouden. Het raam dat niet open en dicht kan...de verwarming niet te regelen..het was er koud. Oude en geen comfortabele matrassen.Ik vond het zeker geen Deluxe tweepersoons kamer en ik liep de trainingskorting mis door de bemiddeling van booking com.
