The staff was friendly. The room was worn and didn't looked like in the pics at internet. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast was... Not a breakfast, just two buns and tea. It is not worth the money to stay there. I felt a bit frauded because of the difference between the pics and the reality.

Very good value for money and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Lovely location by the park with good transport links and surrounded by interesting restaurants and shops. My room would have benefitted from the paintwork (skirting boards etc) having a good clean. The bed and bathroom though were very clean and comfortable.

The location is great. Just in front is the Merode metro station so it is easy to get around. The staff was very nice. They allowed me to check in early. Breakfast in the room was also nice. The room was not so clean when I arrived. Later it got better, but the first impression was quite bad.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the Metro (opposite the hotel) and the area is full of restaurants, night shops and even museums are close. The rooms were very clean and spacious (we stayed in room 6) and very airy. Well within budget. Will definitely recommend it to a friend and stay there again!! No Dining Room, so the breakfast was served in your room. Breakfast was just a croissant, bread and a choice of tea or coffee or hot chocolate, but then again, we did not pay much.

3 things I liked. 1) Good location with a Metro to get downtown in 10 minutes. 2) Several very good Restaurants on the 4 corners of Boulevard Terveuren 3) But most of all, I liked Leaving it All Behind me. At a rate of 20 Euros / night, I would not complain, but my camping & backpacking days ended 20 years ago and this hotel at 100 Euros/night is a joke. It is not worth the price they charge, you would be better with several of the hotels down the block or around the corner. But the restaurant downstairs serves an excellent Entrecote. The Elevator has been broken forever, and will never be fixed. This is fine in a youth Hostel, but not when you have to climb 3 floors with an 89 year old relative. The Lies about "the parts are on the way" were so transparent, that they could not look you in the eye whilst saying it. The room itself was on par with a 20 Euro/night Youth Hostel, the only difference being a lock on the door. The sheets were never changed during a four night stay ( I marked the bottom corners with a pen to check...) "Internet access" was a joke, right on par with the elevator being fixed. (See comments about the hotel, there might not even BE an elevator, just an elavator door with a yellowing sign saying "Elevator Broken" in French.) NOT RECOMMENDED.

Cleanliness of the room, hotel staff and location (in front of the metro station) are very good. It is a perfect place to stay for a few days if one is looking for a decnt and nice place with an affordable price.

Generally speaking the hotel has a good location and considering the price the conditions are good. . Unfortunately when we stayed there 7 to 9 March the elevator did b not work. I consider that the leading staff should be more rapid in solving all those inconveniences. I stayed on the 4th floor and I had to climb the stairs several time a day. God Knows if the elevator is working now.

Great for that end of town and right next to the metro station. Friendly staff. Very funny that smoking is not allowed but there are ashtrays in the rooms in case people do. Slightly down market but then very good value for money

The location, because it has an underground station right at the door. And allegedly the price, although there is no difference between the Booking price and the walk-in rate: 75 euro in both cases. I have no further information, but I refuse to believe (a) that there are no offers for hotels in Brussels, and (b) that Booking is unable to offer more favourable rates than those available for those who just turn up at the hotel. The service is poor, to say the least. The price should be lower, or at least there should be some advantage to booking through a reservations website. The lift consistently gets stuck between the third and the fourth floor and the fourth and the fifth, and there is no double door.

I did not like anything, the room No. 5 was awful, it stanked of kitchen (next door) and cigarettes, shower was rusty, sight of the window was horrible, the hotel should be closed as soon as possible. Nothing, only its location in Merode is good.

It is close to eu headquarters and buildings. The hotel is descent value for money, clean and polite staff and helpful. It is quite old hotel but good and polite staff. The elevator hardly has space for one person. Still it has free wi-fi, even though weak signal. Breakfast comes at the room since there is not lounge separate.

I like the location, close to restaurants, sites, shopping and the underground metro. Staff was friendly and helpful. Safe area for travellers. The hotel could definitely do with some updating! The room smelt smokey (mind you I asked for a non-smoking room) and the bed was hard to sleep on. Overall, those are minor complaints and I only stayed there 2 nights.

Breakfast in the room. The hotel is at the budget end of the market but for €72 per night I would have expected something a bit better. The Hotel is very dated and rooms are basic and the shower was in poor condition. I was also concerned that on two occasions the reception desk was not manned giving easy access to all the room keys from anyone looking in from the street. That said it was clean the breakfast in the room was ok (they don't have a breakfast room)and its next to the Metro stop Merdo and 5 mins walk to Montgomery. So access to the Airport and the Centre is easy.

It is really close from Merode Station and from the Commission. La cercanía al metro de Merode. The room was pretty old, and not so clean, the hotel did not provide the guest with bath towels, just small ones.La habitación estaba bastante vieja y no demasido limpia, el hotel no dispone de toallas de baño, sólo de manos.

Friendly helpful staff. Good value for money. Good location near the eu institutions. Nice bar adjacent to hotel although it closes quite early mid week. More bars across the road that stay open later. This is one of the best budget hotels in Brussels. It is an old building with an ancient lift and basic rooms. However the bathroom has a hairdryer which is rare in budget hotels.

Modest hotel for people on budget, it's located on good place and offer good service, the staff is very kind and always willing to assist, the room is cleaned very well (important because breakfast is in the room) Even 2 stars is still expensive and overestimated, but this is overall situation in Brussels. Breakfast need to be requested explicitly from previous day. Mediocre overall looking because of not renovated very old building.
