The decor was opulent without being fussy, the location was fantastic and the service great
The checkin girl was very helpful recommending great places to eat and see. The older gentleman is a character, nothing phased him, very helpful and nice. Great room with a canal view. Excellent spot for exploring Bruges
The level of service was excellent and the staff a credit to the hotel. When travelling to Bruge for business or pleasure I would only stay at the Di Swaene
The staff was wonderful. It is an excellent location with incredible food.
We loved everything.
very nice swimming pool and sauna great location quite beautiful interior spacious room
carpet on the floor a bit too oldish
Good food, excellent location, excellent swimming pool.
No AC in room, and general decor and lay out of rooms is poor. All staff were charming except the manager who was very rude in response to reasonable requests.
Iris is the best!! Wonderful accommodations, location... Great personalized service.
Room size excellent Staff that we saw - only two - very friendly and helpful. Not sure if everyone else had the two days off. Location terrific. Restaurant good. Service friendly but slow but we weren't in a hurry
Bathroom in our room needed extreme upgrade for what was billed as a luxury hotel. Looked very old and tatty Didn't get a turn down despite it being offered in hotel guide and the house keeping was a bit hit and miss. Old water glasses not cleaned away etc.No drawers in bedroom for clothes.Swimming pool undergoing repairs and rather tatty. Whilst a clean hotel it looked very tired ...maybe just our side of the canal .
Superb location and view from superb rooms; excellent breakfast
the big public rooms were lovely and quite unique
finishing in the bedrooms were not in keeping with the hotels style, often poorly finished, especially the bathroom. The pool was cold. Attention to detail in the building was not quite there.
We were driving from Germany and weren't sure of our arrival time and check in limitations. Michael received us with graciousness and good humor. Our room on the canal was lovely. Your hotel made our stay in Bruges a perfect memory. Check out with day time manager who was with the hotel for 25 years was so helpful to get us to our next destination. Will would love to come back ASAP. Loved it.
This hotel is in a fantastic location , just a few minutes walk to the main square and all of the main attractions are in walking distance. Parking is on the other side of the canal from the hotel but is literally a two minute walk, all of the staff were very attentive and friendly and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable.
location is perfect
Great location. Very welcoming & helpful staff Great breakfasts Pet friendly
Bad quality of ancilaries
This hotel is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone. The hotel is beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful. They will organize taxis for you, tell you which bars & restaurants are terrible, get you discounts around town, basically anything you need to make your stay pleasant. The location cannot be beat. There are great views of the Djiver canal and the Belfry plus it's only a 2-3 minute walk to the Market Square and the Burg.
It's not the cheapest place, but it's definitely worth the price.
Staff incredibly friendly and obliging - plus the location is spot on, canal-side and 2min walk to the Burg and Markt areas, with a nice group of local restaurants and obligatory chocolate shop even closer. Fantastic four poster bed and inglenook fireplace in room 43. Gorgeous first-floor salon too - perfect for waiting post check out if you have a later train. Loved it.
The pool was too cold for a relaxing dip and had a slight smell of drains around it. Lovely decor tho and could be a perfect little spa-like oasis if a little warmer.
It was a charming easy access location to old Brugge. Staff were very helpful and knowledgable
Great staff, great location. Nice hotel
Hot water seemed to 'disappear' in the afternoon and return the next morning.
Friendly staff, nice quirky hotel, very close to the centre, perfect location- but mostly a great unique room, comfortable, quiet, magnificent. Good view over canal too. Highly recommend. Quite pricey though.
The staff was superb! Went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. I will most certainly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Brugges and look forward to our next visit!!!
location, staff, decor
its a bit tired looking - chipped paint, etc.
Location, breakfast area, staff, decoration
Room is very small.
Good location, two minute walk from town centre and main restaurants. Very old property with a lot of character. If you prefer modern hotels you will probably not like this. Helpful and friendly staff.
Prices vary a lot between one day and the next (almost double on this occasion) Try and go mid week for best value. Top floor stairs very poor, not for the infirm, although there is a lift. Small room in need of re-decorating.
We loved the location. They did the best to assist us when we had to complain about the room size.
The rooms were not as advertised. Our canal view room was advertised as 36sqm but was closer to 20sqm. The breakfast was too expensive so we ate in one of the numerous cafés near our hotel.
