Brussels was surprisngly a bit run down which was a bit of a shock when I had just come from the pretty town of Bruges. I came to enjoy the edginess of the city and felt comfortable walking around however rightly or wrongly I was on my guard for my possesions. The duplex room could maybe do with a better TV if you are there for more than a few days. I think the owners should put in a bigger velux window in the roof of the bedroom so you can see the sky, that would make it even more special.
The B&B was very convenient for the sites, main square, restuarants, shops and bars. We had the duplex room at the top which was spacious, cosy and my wife enjoyed the lovely big bath. I did sweat a little trying to carry the bags to the top floor and that was with help from one of the owners but I knew that when we booked.
We were a little bit dissapointed that nothing was open on Sunday as my wife likes to shop however one of the owners mapped out a walking route away from the usual tourist areas and this walk became the highlight of the visit as we walked through the antiques shops, music cafes and flea market. The owners were really nice gentlemen and made the stay more homely.
