It is in the most photographed area in Bugge and know wonder, the hotel has a dated charm of its own and we loved it.
A medieval hotel for a medieval city. Very atmospheric building with amazing views. An excellent restaurant.
The stairs with rather steep for older people with arthritis - but we just took them slowly !
Location Food quality of the restaurant
floor carpeting dirty and poor curtains dirty and poor ceiling probably not painted for 50 years no flexibility in breakfast times
Can be better as this hotel has historical building. e.g TV, Shower, cleaness
Staff, location, restaurant nearby and swans outside the window.
The shower in room 12 is in a bath under the eaves with less than 5 foot head height and the old bones had trouble kneeling.
Loved the décor and personal touches all through the hotel. Staff was polite and helpful. A very comfortable stay, bang in the middle of the Historical Centre. Highly recommended.
Wifi did not work in the room on the second floor and in the restaurant.
Location, dining room
Is in good location in the historic center of the town
We were in a standard room on upper floor. It was extremly durty with mold fungus in corners. Can't open the window as kitchen bad smell came in during the evening.
This restaurant/hotel is ideally located right in the center of downtown. Opening the windows in the morning allowed for a beautiful view of the canals with swans swimming. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed our visit
Although free Wifi is advertised, it only works on the first floor which is the restaurant. No Wifi in the rooms.
location, view from room and breakfast. The lady sitting behind the desk was very friendly.
we weren't able to take a shower since we couldn't stand up while taking a shower. However there was a bath we could use.
The staff was amazing - the best we've had in all our travels. Dinner was right up there with 5 stars as well as the wait staff. We did have a large room. Excellent location.
The Hotel was remodeled in the 90's. It's time for an over all update. Bed and towels need to be replaced now. The rooms are very tired. No elevator.
Quirky old building full of character, perfect for exploring the city.
Slightly tired interior.
Excellent breakfast and location
extremely weak wifi. the room needs renovation
my husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in july 2014. it is a charming hotel packed with character, fantastic views over the canal, excellent location and the best staff we have ever encountered.
the only thing we didn,t like was leaving after only 2 nights.
The hotel was perfect. The madame was really nice and gave us a great bedroom. Drinking a beer in the room with the opened windows was like drinking it in a fantastic place of Brugge. The location is perfect and the breakfast is AWSOM.
You have yo walk yo arrive ti the hotel and there is no elevator, but... That's so charming...
Location Ambience Staff Bathroom size was big!
Rooms are on the smaller side.
The hotel may not have all the modern conveniences, but who cares, with the location, the atmosphere of a 1674 building, the friendly staff, breakfasts in a wonderful location, and a home-like atmosphere in a spacious room? Highly recommended as a base from which to explore this enchanting city.
The location is great for being in the heart of Bruge! You are within walking distance of everything! Parking garages are close by and it's approx 8.70 euro for 24 hrs. The hotel is older but it met all of our needs! The staff are all very friendly and helpful with providing tips and suggestions on where to eat and what to see! Breakfast was good and the view from the restaurant was beautiful!
The decor is old but I liked the charm! Wifi was only accessible in the lobby even though they advertise it's throughout the hotel! I wasn't there for the wifi but I know some may need it. It can be noisy because you are right in the middle of cafés and a busy location. Just bring some ear plugs and all will be just fine. Also no ac so if you are prepared for that should be no surprise!
Great location. Beautiful room. nice new bathroom
A little noisy- very busy weekend
There was very little not to like about this hotel. It is located on a canal in the center of a gorgeous city where you can hear and see the bell tower nearby. The building is historical (which means some inconveniences, but the charm outweighed those.) The staff was charming and helpful and the breakfast was delicious, with many choices and a view out of another era. The location was marvelous. There is an excellent, but pricey restaurant on location. They kindly held our luggage for us on our last day before we had to catch our bus out of town.
A fan in the room would be nice and the bed was a bit old...sloped on the sides. No shower curtain; no shower but a hand-held shower, so it was hard to not get water on the floor. Wifi didn't work in our room so we had to go and sit in the hall to use it (however there were chairs out there.)
We've stayed many times and always return because Le Duc has a friendly welcome and an easy atmosphere.
Excellently located for being right in the heart of Bruges. Staff very friendly. Beautiful murals and faux marbre in the reception area.
The Duc really is in need of a new set of clothes. Needs a complete re-decoration and the carpets are in desperate need of either deep cleaning or replacing.
