Good location, friendly personnel, decent room.
I stayed in a room in a building opposite the main hotel building, and WiFi-connection was quite bad there. I could only connect once in a while. Usually I wouldn't care so much, but I was there for work and needed internet.
Location was very good, close to the city core yet still far enough from the annoying tourist hotshot. There are great eateries around.
Nothing to mention
The wifi doesn't work very well in the bedrooms. It is ok if you are only sleeping there.
Good rooms, clean, easy in and out, 15 minutes walk from downtown
Good location, 2 min. from the metro station, silent area, helpful staff, comfort rooms with beautiful courtyard view.
A bit poor breakfast. If your room is on middle floor (near to the steps) you hardly could sleep because there is always somebody who's going up or down.
Great location Staff had my room ready well before check in time, and I really appreciated that
At first, the hallways/stairs were confusing
Everything was perfect. The staff at reception were very welcoming throughout the stay and always went the extra mile where necessary. We asked where we could get a coffee at around 10pm and the gentleman said quite simply 'i'll make you one now,' brilliant! There are some very nice restaurants and bars within 2 minutes walking distance, and the main square of grand place is around a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. On the way there is the cathedral and a host of coffee and juice bars to enjoy if you want to take it easy on the way in. breakfast was surprisingly good for a buffet style. Cereal, bread with ham and cheese, egg making facilities (boiled, fried or scrambled,) toast and an arrange of pastries. Even the coffee was fresh and lovely. I haven't left a review for a holiday before but I felt inclined to show my appreciation of what was a short break made even better by the hotel staff and services.
Very good location you can walk to the main center attractions and there is an underground nearby. It has good food for breakfast, clean rooms and there are restaurants nearby.
Travelled to Brussels with my 5 year old son. Found this hotel easy to get to, metro/tram system was brilliant, bought a discover brussels card to get about, bargain €17/72hrs! Check-in was easy, friendly man on reception, room was lovely, on first floor up one set of stairs (lift available), not the biggest room but how much space do you really need. Tv had many channels, 5+ in english (bbc 1,2 citv, news..etc) Breakfast was good (6.30-9.30am), lots to choose from, handy self service egg maker. Beds weren't the most comfy but not terrible either, guess its personal preference. Given wifi code upon check-in, great signal in room (1st floor) Highly recommended, will stay again when we next head to Brussels :-)
Construction in the area/down the road and they started early in the morning (7/8am). Not hotels fault obviously but just a warning if travelling soon.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and the free wifi was excellent. Lots of tv channels in multiple languages
Lack of kettle and mug/cup in the room - I like to be ablr to make myself a cup of tea before bed and first thing in the morning
Nice, renovated building. spacious room with everything you need during short city break. Hotel is in nice, safe area, 15 minutes from city hall. Very good breakfast. Just perfect.
The hotel was clean and central the ci̇ty it was easy for avai̇lable to ci̇ty center and bath-tup was very ni̇ce
Mi̇ni̇ bar has not i̇n my room
Modern, friendly atmosphere. Better than average continental breakfast choice.
Room 408 is not truly en suite, but a private bathroom across the corridor - not very convenient. Is perfectly acceptable if sold as such, but not as 'en suite'.
Ok location. Free WiFi. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean room.
Bed was way too soft. In some rooms you can hear the the sound from the neighboring rooms (footsteps, conversation, TV)
clean, good location, and excellent value for money
mattress or mattress support could be better, but I slept very well anyway :)
Location Welcome and helpfulness Good modernisation; clean Choice of nearby restaurants
Limited reception space for meeting up
Once you book at the Hotel du Congrès, you should have your expectations and priorities right. The room rate is rather convenient. The service was impeccable throughout, with very helpful (indeed, cheerful) staff at the front office. Breakfast (not included in the room rate) was good. Not awesome, but sufficiently varied and abundant. I had a great time frying my own scrambled eggs, an absolute first for me when staying at a hotel. Perhaps, the management could think about including the breakfast in the room rate.
I found my room to be minimalistic, which sometimes make little sense in modern architectural terms (the hotel being located in an old building): my bathroom, for example, was half the size of my bedroom... pleasant, but a needless waste, and a little more space in the bedroom proper would have been more appreciated. The wi-fi connection was rather erratic in my room. In the lobby, on the other hand, it was fast and reliable.
The staff expecially the young guy at he reception was very polite and friendly. The room was clean andcomfortable.price was reasonable. Location was close to centrum and touristic attractions.
Wifi coverage was not good. No refrigerator in the room
Good location. The breakfast is adequate for the price.
If you stay more than 1 night, don't accept the room No. 408. There is no bathroom inside the room, it is outside of the room separately (on the other side of the corridor, opposite to the room 408). It is really inconvenient because one has to go half naked in the corridor. There is no sink in the bathroom, so you must go back in the room to wash your hands after the toilet use. The bed was not really comfortable. Neither me nor my boyfriend slept well there.
Close to the central station (+- 15 min walk) and pretty quiet place. Beds were comfortable and there was a bath in the room
Breakfast was really simple.
Good location - near metro and only about 20 mins walk to city centre and main attractions. Nice hotel, comfortable room.
I found the room really warm and stuffy (in January, with the heater off!).
I like the location, the friendly staff, quite good value for money
I have stayed several times in this hotel, I was usually satisfied but now it was the first time I stayed in a room opposite the main building. The breakfast room is in the main building, which is rather uncomfortable, especially in winter. I also missed a lift in this building, and wifi was very poor.
professional staff, hotel is located in a central area of the city.
there is some noise between floors
The breakfast has greatly improved since my last stay - I like the addition of the egg cooking facility!
I would welcome a drink (tea/coffee) making facility in the room.
