Ideally location for a short 15 minute walk to main square. Hotel situated in a quiet area next to park.Close to restaurants and all rooms enjoy view over gardens. Informative and friendly staff.
Bathroom area on the small side
The location is excellent with delightful gardens and a park just beyond. easy access to the centre and close to several very good restaurants. Room heating was very efficient and everything was very clean. As it is only small, the breakfast choice was somewhat limited but sufficient in quality and quantity. We will be returning to Bruges and will check the availability of this hotel first.
Wifi was a bit hit and miss (but it was free). We didn't watch the TV as it only seemed to have continental channels, however, as we rarely watch TV anyway, as we were out most of the day, I didn't bother to enquire if British was available
The location excellent. Just a quick walk into the old city. Close to the rail station also. Staff very obliging. Breakfast good. The old home gives you a taste of past times in Brugge
Internet was patchy
Excellent location for the town, also drop-off point from ferry coach very near. Friendly staff, lovely building and good facilities. Great value for money, will definitely go back again.
Good location, near the centre, but quiet. Ample choice for breakfast.
They could do with a light as you enter the property grounds as it is dark at night. There is a light once you approach the front of the building.
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice dining room and a good choice of breakfast food.
The last time I was here was in the 1990s, and there was someone on reception all day and evening. The hotel ownership has changed and now there is no one on duty after 6 pm.. We arrived after 6 pm, and had to let ourselves in and collect our key from the Reception Desk, and find our own room. (We were informed of this in advance). The disadvantages of there not being any evening staff was highlighted when we had a serious problem with the lock on our door and it would not lock, and we needed to go out for an evening meal. As our room door was directly off the garden there was no way we could go out and leave the door unlocked. Fortunately there was an emergency number and the young man on reception came within minutes and waited for the locksmith whilst we went out to eat. We were in the 'Garden Room' and had to go outside to access the main part of the hotel. That's OK when the weather is fine, but a nuisance when it is pouring with rain and you have to put on a raincoat to go to outside before you can have breakfast. The en suite bathroom was very small and you had to come into the room to dry off. I dislike climbing over the edge of the bath to have a shower - as I get older I feel it is dangerous. Much-needed extra space in the bathroom could be created by replacing the bath with a shower cubicle.
Near the train station. Lovely setting.
No elevator to a 3rd floor attic room
A wonderful few days enjoyed by us all. Situation perfect with short distance to city center.
Staff. Internet didn't work first night. Room was too hot to sleep, even with air con on. Safe didn't work
Great quiet location next to public gardens.
Location and parking are spot on. Did not mind the extra €10 per day charge. Breakfast very good. Ambience lovely.
Arrived (three couples) but ignored and made to wait 15 mins while receptionist worked on a 'problem' with another staff member. Room 8 smallest room, no wifi signal in room, small plastic module bathroom with faulty air extraction. bedhead dirty with use.
The whole atmosphere is calm and relaxed. The surroundings particularly the loving care taken with the decor. The breakfast selection is excellent , the hotel is scrupulously clean and staff helpful but not obtrusive. Peaceful garden and good atmosphere
Can't think of anything
Lovely hotel in quiet and peaceful surroundings but only 2 mins walk away from bars and resturants
Everything! Stephen is a wonderful host, nothing was to much trouble. His two dogs greeting you at the door are a real treat. We had the bottom floor garden room which has easy access to the drive. Parking was great & it's in a very quiet location. Everything at breakfast is cooked fresh.
An easy walk through the park from the train station. This hotel is a clean, quiet, comfortable establishment very close to the Begijnhof and about 1/3 mile from the Grote Markt.
If you are looking for an elevator and recent redecorating this hotel is not for you. We, however, found it a delightful home base for our first visit to Bruges. Our only problem was having to leave before breakfast was served on our last day.
Good location close to town but secluded and lovely
Nice garden outside window, small property, not in main city centre but within an easy walk. Helpful owner.
Bumpy cobblestones to pull cases over from the train station! Limited breakfast but totally adequate. Quite an old establishment.
Everything is excellent. The breakfast is delicious!
But, difficult to find out!
Location is excellent, situated at edge of Minnewater and only 10 minute walk to centre of Bruges. The peace and quiet of the garden is a sanctuary in the hustle and bustle of the tourists that arrive only a daily basis. Room we had overlooking garden was ample size and the bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast with scramble eggs and bacon was delicious and serve on time.
TV needs updating and shower screen or curtain would be useful to stop water splashing on floor.
Very quiet and comfortable hotel. the room is big and clean. the hotel is located beside the minnewater and close to the down town Brugge and the Centraal station.
Wifi speed is very low
Very quiet and charming location within walkingdistance to town. Lovely breakfastroom.
You had to have a Facebookprofile to have the free internet.
lovely breakfast. Nice location and easy to get to by car.
decor a little tired- room quite dark and smelt a bit musty.
Everything,it was excellent.
It was advertised as having an honesty bar,it did not,one of the other guests told us that guests had been abusing it so they had stopped it.
We loved the fact hotel Egmond was a beautiful stately hotel , not too big but homely & tranquil set in its own gardens away from the hustle & bustle . Our room was large & had everything we needed for a relaxing break . We enjoyed everything about our stay & very much look forward to staying there again .
