Hotel Empire  

The hotel staff were so helpful in helping us park our cars and were very friendly when we spoke with them in the hotel bar about our trip offrering helpful advice to make our stay more enjoyable

The rooms were not quite as nice as the hotel reception,bar and restaurant would lead you to believe but they were by no means bad just in need of modernising.

i enjoyed my stay ,,though just for 1 night nice staff english speakin which is a huge help..rooms very clean food ok good nights rest nonoise

Very hospitable staff, very accomodating. Simple but nice breakfast buffet with adequate local spread. The renovated wing is really comfortable and worth the price: nice size bedroom and bathrooms with hairdryers. Cozy lounge and brasserie. Around the corner of the beach - that I did not get to see up close due to too busy. In the middle of the going out area and close to the shopping center.

Please hurry up and renovate the whole hotel!! Even solo travellers don't deserve a matchbox bathroom. The second elevator in the old part is tiny - only to be used by people who are really close. The way leading to that lift can do with extra lighting due to the uneven floor surface near the reception. Next time I am booking a double room for sure and requesting the renovated wing. I am going back there!

Friendly , helpful staff, nice bar area, close location to the beach and main shopping street and nightlife ; sky sports bar near by.

Empire is located right in front of the boulevard

Our room was tiny, breakfast was served in a room in the back of the hotel without windows. Very crampy. Worst incident is that we got stuck in the lift. It's a very small and old-fashioned lift. We got stuck for about 15 mins and pushing the alarm button did not help at all. No one heard us. All of a sudden it started working again. We complained to staff and got the reply that it happens more often. Not a satisfying answer.

It would have been useful to have a better description about how to get to the hotel on the webpage.

One of the worst stay ever. Old crap hotel in the middle of the city. Old furniture, smely carpet, dirty walls, extremely small bathroom, horrible view from the windows (we got the inside view with a smelly fire ladder), dangerous elevator without a door! Basic and good breakfast - selection of juice, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, tea, coffie, jams, jogurt, bakery. The construction site is just besides the hotel. And all of that for 65Eur.The only positive things was - very friendly stuff (respect) and good TV with a selection of vlaanderen programs.

Uniquement le petit déjeuner car le reste a été catastrophique!!!

Je n'avais jamais vu cela de toute ma vie...je me demandais pourquoi il fallait payer avant de recevoir la clef mais j'ai de suite compris en ouvrant la porte: la moquette était couverte de grosses tâches, une des lampes de chevet était décrochée, et dans la chambre simple de ma fille ( l'horreur!) il y avait un bruit de chaudière derrière la cloison du lit ainsi qu'une ventilation au dessus de la tête du lit, le plafond menaçait de tomber,l'évier de la salle de bain était cassé, la chasse d'eau mettait 30 minutes avant de s'arrêter de faire du bruit,on se serait cru dans une salle de bain montée en kit il y a 150 ans...et le plus joli, c'était la fenêtre qui donnait sur un Mur!!! Et un escalier de secours...le noir complet même le matin...très joli... Et aussi une télé qui ne fonctionnait pas...pas de télécommande....et le plus sympa...des aboiements de chiens juste derrière la cloison de la chambre...et une odeur de chambre pas très fraîche ....bref....le bonheur !!!! merci Hotel Empire...ce n'est pas Empire qu'il faut dire mais le Plus Pire de ma vie!

Een overheerlijke dagmenu aan een schappelijke prijs, zeer tevreden!!!

kamer was niet comfortabel, bed te kort, voeten uit bed en badkamer was veel te klein en zeker niet comfortabel
