Fantastic location and a friendly welcome. Magical room too with wooden beams and very comfortable bed. Large room. Motorcyclists read this: Parking for cars was close but Ghent doesn't let bikers use the garages. Park about 500 metres away on the square, next to the guard hut and they'll watch your bike for free. Car park number 9. Took me an hour to find this out. |

I liked the price and the excellent location on the edge of the historic city center. The room was quiet and comfortable and the breakfast was good. I had one of the rooms that looked directly into a solid stone wall about 3 feet away, but I knew that was possible from reading the hotel reviews before I booked. I think the wall actually blocked any city noise. The furnishings were well-worn (hard to tell if the carpet was dirty or just very worn; however, although the towels looked worn they were clean and quite absorbent). The temperature setting for the hot water was turned down so that the water was not truly hot - just very warm. There was no shower, only a bathtub, and I tried to take a bath but due to the water temperature it was not pleasant. |

Hotel has a lot of character ,and the rooms have been modernised as much as is possible within the limitations of a beautiful 17th century building. Very central to all the beautiful sites/restaurants/canals of Ghent, but in a quiet area. Very clean. Breakfast choice /standard excellent. Staff helpful and welcoming. No lift ( limitations of a 17th century building ) so some rooms are reached by thirty+ stairs, therefore the hotel is not suitable for those who find stairs difficult. |

Easy access to centre of town and parkig garage; small supermarket next door. Very dark room as result of blank wall about two feet from window; about one third dearer than it should have been. |

The location was excellent and the hotel had a wonderfully charming decor. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was great. Coffee making facility in the room. The bathtub had no curtain around a handheld shower. Poor lighting. No lift and I suffered from a bad knee. |

Pleasant hotel and staff, and great central location. The hotel has a lot of historical charm and I much preferred it to one of the similarly priced modern concrete hotels. |

The building, outside and inside: room, staircase, breakfast-room; the vicinity of good shops and restaurants; the location. The breakfast might offer better choices - however, it was not bad. |
